      Not so sure lately. Teams like Atalanta and Sassuolo (in spurts) have been fun to watch. Nice combination of speed, attacking football, and tactical inventiveness.. I think the mentality among Italian coaches is changing. While Pirlo didn’t have a stellar session at Juve, the brand of press and attack play he tried to employ had the potential to be easy on the eye while being balanced. I think the best expression of that was what Sarai pulled off with Napoli a few years back. Check out what Pioli managed to do with a young AC Milan side. With some more cash, time, and patience in developing home grown talent from the primavera squads while mixing with some more seasoned big names, Serie A has serious potential to come back strong.

      @@riverit2880 That's just not going to happen though. Premier League is continuing to become stronger with new owners and investors wanting to go into the league. It will just continue to grow the revenue for all the clubs in that league and they'll just go around and pick up the best talent from all the other European clubs, don't think any league will have the financial backing to be able to compete with PL.

    • @riverit2880
      @riverit2880 2 года назад

      Very good point David- money goes very far, especially when it comes to picking up players from other leagues. Though comparing apples and oranges in a way, same can be said for how big money across Europe equals the ability to poach the highest quality players from other continents. I get it. But, who knows, the world of international football, like anything, can be changed over time, in a macro way, by micro changes that take root and breed success over time. I just think that Serie A has enough ingredients to, at the very least, upset PL teams from time to time, and enough of a history, changing mindset and a brand (which admittedly needs more work) more to attract the type of investors that have brought the PL to where it is. In any event, excellent analysis on your part.
