They did so much in such a short amount of time. It all looked so hopeless and now we see the spire. Thank you to all of the craftsmen who rebuilt this beautiful cathedral.

I saw the cathedral burn from my window five years ago. I still remember the disbelief as it projected a huge column of smoke in the clear Parisian sky, the sense of horror as nothing seemed to be able to stop the fire. That dreadful evening, we feared we would lose the cathedral of Paris, a place that has been the beating heart of France for over 800 years.
Now, it is coming back in the Parisian skyline. It is coming back in the heart and soul of my country. The cathedral isn’t only a religious building, it is first and foremost a place where all French people have a sense of belonging. It is ours, literally since the building is owned by the Republic.
I’m not religious but I look forward to visiting it again as I did so often back in the days. A quiet place at the heart of a busy and noisy city, an historic building where I can feel the history of my country, of the European continent and of all humanity.

This is all a HUGE symbol, De Molay was burned in front of Notre-Dame, and now Notre-Dame is burned. The Templars typify the 10 original zodiacs (Tudor Rose) according to the Rosicrucians (each tribe was given a zodiac- so 10 lost tribes “Ephraim” = 10 kings of Revelation 17 reigning with the Vatican … the Masonic British crown is descended from the lost tribe of Ephraim according to the secret societies…) Hiram Abiff has a 9 stoned breastplate in Ezekiel 28, corresponding to the 9 masonic encampments surrounding the knights of Malta at the 32nd degree)

Depends on where in the US. If you don’t have to deal with labor unions, and can hire contractors who uses migrant laborers, it could be finished in a year. Two years if you actually want to attempt to save/restore what’s left. Of course, that is all depending on how long it takes insurance to pay out. Naturally they would want a full investigation to determine whether it was arson, or fraud, anything they can get do to get out if paying.

    • @UmmYeahOk

If the government is paying for it, then it probably has more to do with tourism. While, yes, the Olympics will bring in a lot of tourist dollars, and they will most likely want to visit, pretty much any tourist visiting Paris for the very first time comes to Notre Dame. If they don’t go, then the people who live and work nearby suffer, because they lose that business, and ultimately would want a handout from taxpayers as well. It’s sort of a “trickle down” bail out. I’m sure that had this happened to lesser known Parisian cathedrals, they wouldn’t received as much aid from the government.
