Laura, I just want to thank you and Aaron for taking the time to make these videos! It really hit me when you were loading up the cart before this project began; recording with one hand and loading with the other. For some reason, this really brought the realization to me how much faster you could get your work done if you didn't take these videos, but I'm so thankful that you do! I've learned so very much!! I so look forward to your videos and truly thank you, Aaron, and Benjamin too, for all that you do for us! Your family is a true inspiration!
Thank you, Laura, for being an inspiration. Your love for your garden and your passion for beauty makes me want to continue to improve my garden. I love the attitude that you have about the garden. If you do not like something, then pull it out. It is your garden, so make it your own. These words have freed me to remove plants and/or give them new locations. I can plant seeds, divide plants, or add new plants. Why? Because it is my garden...my expression of beauty. I love lavender and will be adding some to my garden. By the way, I enjoyed your visit with your mother to the lavender farm. Thank you again. Keep on romancing the ordinary! Yes!
Now if I can just convince my husband...I did last year. But we didn't move on it fast enough and he changed his mind. If it's living and doing okay, just leave it alone. That's his mentality. 🤷♂️😊
Catherine's gardin of lws- agree I got rid of a trio of lady's mantle and putting in monarda and yarrow. In the front yard my bergenia are not doing well so I'm replacing them with a perennial geranium. Both spots will look so much prettier.
I just love your attitude ❣I've learned so much from you. Including to rearrange flowers around if they don't look good, which I done a number of times this year. So- thank you, Laura. I can see the baby's growing💗 so excited for you both💕
Video or mini series suggestion: Supply organization! You have an organization system that seems to work really well for you, from irrigation supplies, tools, soil, soil additives, etc. You have done bits and pieces of all of these elements, but I can't find an entire video dedicated to it. If it does exist, please tell me where it is! I have learned so, so much from your channel...thanks for sharing the joy!
Aaron needs an entrance theme song, like during sporting events, when he comes to help! 😋😁 He already does the strut like he's ready to take on any task. 😎💪
I wrote it before and I’ll write it again, I LOVE the circle with the urn in the middle AND now with the Lavender... PERFECT!!! When everything blooms it will be spectacular Laura!! 🌿
I absolutely love this little circle area! The gravel is a perfect tie to the driveway, and looks so intentional. I also love that this isn't just a straight shot through the area. I just imagine the experience of walking through here...the beautiful planting at eye level, the crunch of the gravel underfoot, the waft of lavender as you stir the air when you pass by. *sigh* So, so dreamy!
Laura, this space has changed SO MUCH since you first moved into this property. I remember you talking about all the plans you had way back then; you should remind us of how it started with a video clip from back then.
When you planted those hostas, that was the first show of yours that watched, I planted my hostas under both trees because of it. I cut my lavender and made a wreath after watching you and your mom, hung it on the fence and the birds are loving it! I wish I had your green house, your shed of supplies, it’s a gardening wonderland!
I remember when Laura first showed us the case Aaron used to store their drip supplies and I fashioned mine after his very organized method. Now, on the scale they garden, they've upgraded to bins of drip supplies. Haha!
@8:05 YESSSS!! yes I love when you envision something and it actually works out the way you had hoped. Such a thrilling feeling and kinda becomes my favorite spot🤗
Your videos are always the perfect length! I watch you in the morning as I get ready for work and as soon as your videos end I know it’s time to go! Absolutely love you guys and wish you the best!
The lavender is PERFECT for that space. This area and the pallet walkway/chicken coop area are my absolute favorites on your property. If I was a little gnome I would move right in : )
That might be my favorite spot in your garden!! Oh wait, that and outside your kitchen window. Oh and by the chicken coop. OH, and the pallet walk way garden! Scratch that... Laura, it is all beautiful! Keep up the amazing work!
When I watch you guys work in the yard I ALWAYS get my rear end in the yard that day to get at least one thing done ☺ your channel is a light in my day and a blessing to have discovered. This year was my biggest year, I have zinnias up to my shoulders, I'm 5'8"! My kids love it, we make bouquets for our neighbors and they get a kick out of delivering them. Also we have cherry tomatoes that last like your strawberry plants they go out everyday looking for juicy tomatoe theyl all even eat them orange 😁
LOVELY!! I always wondered how that hedge of Hydrangeas are doing, thank you for showing us. Reading through the comments one can't help but to realize how many of us have been directly inspired to create our own gardens, how many of us have become better gardeners, better informed and in general how all of your work and Aaron's continue to motivate many of us to keep on loving, dreaming, experimenting with our gardens, celebrating garden victories and defeats. IDEA: I wish we could ALL share pictures of our "Laura inspired" garden achievements 😊 God bless you and keep you. Warm hugs for you and yours.
I love and share your passion for gardening. On this video, you are sort of all over the place! All I wanted to know about is how to plant lavender....not all of your other beautiful plants. Lavender grows best in full sunlight (10 hours) and not shady areas like under the overhang of your house. It also likes dry conditions with well draining soil. It is native to the Mediterranean so it likes those conditions. Thanks!
Good morning! I’m always in awe when I see how wonderful your soil is. Living in NE Tennessee, when you stick a shovel in the ground, you hit hard red clay. But we do have rain so the lesson here is that everyone should count their blessings!
Just goes to show, most places can grow something--flowers, scrubs. trees, rocks, humidity, sand, ice, clay soil. Some times we just have to wallow in our own laughter at times.
I can already smell the lavender, mmmmmmmm... And, I can really see what you envision for this spot now. Too bad about those grubs on the sunflowers but a cool blue and purple color palette suits that area very well. Russell has been conspicuously absent lately. You can tell it's hot outside when the kitties would rather stay indoors. Can't blame him. You look beautiful and happy, Laura. ~ Lisa
Lovely Laura!! Love the add of the 18 lavender...really looks beautiful and I see your vision, when it all fills in as well. Enjoy your weekend, always love to watch your videos. I have learned so much as well, you are very knowledgable ...but I know its trial and error for soil and region, area situations. Thank you as always!
Laura I have to say while I love all of your garden areas there is something special about this beautiful area! Kind of a “secret garden” vibe. So enjoying watching you develop this space.💕🌺
I loved this episode. They aren't videos anymore, this is a PBS airing of inspiration galore! Thank you Laura, Aaron and big brother Benjamin! / Peggy Lee on Dad's cellphone luv u Daddy xo
Dont we all wish that we had a plant supply in a greenhouse in the backyard!!! So awsome to just say, "think I will just plant some annuals....." and then walk around the house and get them....very cool
I grew lavendar from seed!!! Channeling my Laura..... I'm transplanting baby lavendar today, so I'm loving the vlog today. And I'm trying drip today for the first time too. Such an epic day. [I'm sounding silly... Lollll]. 💙💚😎
Whenever my plants start showing signs of chlorosis and I treat with iron tone I also give them a little bit of epsom salt to help them with nutrient uptake. I generally mix 1tbsp epsom salt per 1gal of water. I usually see results pretty quickly!
I feel like I can learn as much from the comments section as I do from the videos. I did landscape maintenance in a past life and saw chlorosis occasionally, but never like what we are seeing in our garden where we live now. Thanks for the tip!
Y'all liberally adding epsom salt to your soil best read this first before you ruin your soil:. www.al.com/living/2015/06/feeding_your_garden_beer_coffe.html In short, the use of epsom salt is an old wives' tale, at best. At worst, it can outright KILL your plants. Do some research first, people. Science, not snake oil.
I love these type of videos. No music just some planting with Laura. This seems so relaxing all of a sudden. And I love the transformation of this area.
My husband is always saying, "you just can't help yourself"......in a good way. I feel for you with the construction. We've been living through a final buildout of 24 townhomes....2 years, 7 months, and 12 days, with another 60 days to go.
I LOVE your circle and that URN is so wonderful I put it on my WISH list the day you first posted about it! When you first showed us this I thought YES now that is GOOD garden design as you've a centerpiece, a focal point a 'room' and a 'stop and admire' . I think whenever you've made a bit in a garden room or walkway that pushes the viewer/rambler to not continue forward, you've made that restful moment to stop and well "Smell the flowers" and I ADORE gravel with brick. AND the sound of gravel instantly takes me to England and walking in Country House gardens! You've such an eye for Garden Layout, I adore it. And I like that you used a differing tone in that planter than just the usual grey as that variety also feels quite English to me :) I wish I only had to worry about wind with our Hostas, but I planted up more this year in my shade gardens and the deer found them OF COURSE! and this year, for the first time they have eat up MY Petunias! They've never touched them before, and they are now eating all the blooms off my daylillies, which they also used to never touch. OH well, Gardening in the wood and Sea is a challenge...but a lovely one, so I'll deal :)
The classical European look of the circle garden is stunningly pretty especially since you added the lavender. As it matures, it will become more magical and I’m looking forward to seeing the transformation.
This side of the house is one of my favorites. Love the brick walkway but with the gravel made it perfect. Love the lavendar and boxwood. I'm a big purple fan.
I've never binge-watched anything in my life until I found your channel. The lavender is beautiful. I know it's the West side of the house, but hope it gets enough sun. You've forgotten more about gardening than I'll ever know so I'm sure it's going to be great, but my Lavender struggles with shade thrown by our Austrian Pines that are at least 20' away. I think our weather on the Front Range in Northern Colorado is almost identical to yours, but I can never get things to grow like you do.
Wow her channel is incredible; what a garden and design. You were thinking just what I was thinking! To really thrive lavender needs at least 6-8 hours of direct sun exposure. In your case you might also want to check the ph of the soil. The influence of the pines might also indicate acidic soil. Try top dressing with dolomitic lime in the fall to raise the pH to more alkaline side of 6.5-7. And make sure you have good drainage; lavender hates wet feet! Can you tell I'm passionate about lavender?! Check with your awesome Colorado Lavender Association. 💜
I truly love you videos. Theyre are so light, warm, and so much love. Not to mention all the knowledge you keep throwing at us. Thanks for all that you do.
Haha! Me too.🤦♀️ Happened to me a few weeks ago. I ended up buying some more plants and had to scoot some recently planted plants over. What’s that saying about learning from your mistakes? Maybe one day I’ll learn. Until then, I’ll just keep digging a lot of holes.
I truly envy you. I love to garden. I’m happiest communing w/the earth & plants. I used to be able to spend hours planting & tending. Not anymore. My husband hates plants & so he allows my hard work from past years to die. I keep a small veggie garden in the backyard which is still too much on bad days. You’re very blessed in many ways. I wish you both longevity & health so that you always have your gardens to bring you joy. May you always recognize your gifts & blessings.
So much fun spending time with you this morning! I love when you do a lot of smaller type projects. The lavender looks beautiful! It's going to look amazing spilling over the bricks! Have a great rest of your day!🌻
Just started a hedge of lavender myself, and laughed when I bought exactly HALF the lavender I should have. 🤦🏼♀️ Good reason to head back to the nursery! As we continue to expand our garden areas, and beef up our existing areas, I’m intrigued about the way you connect your drip irrigation back onto itself. Still waiting, semi-patiently, for Aaron’s drip irrigation video, and thinking he might have to do a short series!
Lessons learned from Laura and Aaron.....plants....drip line watering.....and now plant augering! It's nice to see a flowerbed project being completed. Here in Central Texas we can't really plant much when it's over 100 degrees.
When you said you were planting lavender, I thought meh, so many other pretty plants. Wow was I wrong! I LOVE it, one of my favorite places in your garden. Love the brick, gravel, planter and those hostas around the tree. Gorgeous!!
When it's in bloom, sure, but after it's done? Not a fan. It's kind of scrubby looking to me. I don't really see it grown too much here in NJ. I wonder if that's because we get too much rain?
I love lavender too! 😍 You know Laura ever since you've been pregnant your eyes have been a more vibrant blue...your such a beautiful young woman...not just on the outside, but also on the inside which truly comes out in your character. That's why I enjoy watching your very informative videos. 😍
Blue eyes are the result of a lack of pigment so, just like the color of the sky and the oceans, the blue is the result of a refraction/scattering of light. Source: The American Academy of Opthalmology www.aao.org/eye-health/tips-prevention/your-blue-eyes-arent-really-blue
Laura I love the lavender. That area is beautiful. I think I might build a circle with bricks around my outdoor table area. Thank you for the inspiration!
Hello! I want to thank you for all of your great videos! I look forward to watching each day you post! I always talk about my friend Laura who doesn’t even know I exists, and have learned so much from you. Thank you for sharing the good (too many things to list), the bad (a split locust tree), and the ugly (worms boring into your plants). You and Aaron keep it real and I have learned so much from you both and have rekindled my love for gardening! One question, can you over treat for chlorosis? I have a plant that I think may be suffering but I haven’t eliminated any other possibilities.
We are planning a 40' hedge of hydrangea with a hedge of lavender in front. I'm so glad I get to see you do it first and have an idea of what mine will look like!
Try to vary the variety of hydrangea, if you can since they all bloom at different times. This way, you'll have something in bloom from late spring into late summer. By me, it's only like, what ? The third, fourth week of summer and the macrophylla blooms are dwindling downward. (And don't get me started on that "Endless Summer" /false advertising variety).
Just when I feel like I am done in my garden - a video like this one posts and I am outside again moving things around. Lol. THANK YOU for the constant inspiration. You are so talented! 😊
I love the circle with the gravel and the urn, and now with all that lavender. It's going to look fantastic. Your vision is coming together beautifully. 💜💜💜
Love love love lavender! Can’t keep it alive for more than two years though not sure why. I plant it on a hill in full sun. It usually does great in the summer, but kicks the bucket after even a mild winter. I garden in zone 6 so it should last longer... I tried many varieties with the same outcome, but haven’t tried the varieties you have. I think I’ll try those before I give up on lavender completely😆💜
They're picky about drainage and do not like too much fertilizer, they don't even really like very good soil. They also do better in fairly alkaline soil. Mine do best planted near concrete or in cinder blocks. ( helps with the alkalinity) Planting them slightly above the soil line helps with drainage.
Thanks so much for the tips! I think we have very acidic soil, perhaps that’s what kills my lavender. I’ll do more research on amending the soil before I plant more lavender:)
@@HappyCats17 You nailed it! You can do a simple soil test for alkalinity. Also adding dolomitic lime in the fall will raise the pH during winter rains.
you're so sincere and passionate about gardening, and just work hard at your designed landscaping. This looks to me like a beautiful manicured estate in the making!
I have roofers working in my condo area so, I had to interrupt my thought process! I wanted to say I understand that feeling you described, something feels like you have reached a point of satisfaction where the vision in your mind is near completion or actually done-for the foreseeable future! I love that area too! Good call again - live how you dream! 😉
Laura! Great minds think alike! I just started designing the gardens for the house we just bought. I’m adding a circular area in the middle of a flower garden with two entrances that will be a seating area, with some comfy chairs and a coffee table. My design included boxwood spheres at each entrance and a hedge of lavender around the circle. 💕 the wonderful part of this video is seeing how gorgeous it’s going to look at our new place!
This is so, so perfect for this area!!! I’m in love with the lavender and boxwoods together. I’m trying to find an area in my yard to have a lavender hedge too. 🥰
Let’s hear it for the boy! I’m sure I’m not alone when I say I’m enjoying seeing Aaron more and more. Call it a crush, call it an appreciation for variety..but it’s great seeing you two work together and tease and love. You guys are so great together, and the camera totally shows that. Thanks for sharing that small glimpse of your lives! ❤️❤️
Grow your health, Grow a garden Nurture the environment Gardening makes you feel happy Gardening needs your heart to work on thanks Laura now am becoming a better grower.
Hello Laura, Aaron and Benjamin! Love seeing you plant this lavender. It is great that Aaron is helping you out do much since you are pregnant. I pray for you to have a smooth pregnancy. I know how hard it is to continue with a regular schedule when you are pregnant. God bless you all during this time.
You worked in maybe my favorite spot today. I love this side of your house. Lavender was the perfect addition! 💜 The Nemesea looked more like Medusa before it’s haircut. 🤣
So glad you showed us how that worm worked it's way into the Sunflower. That was interesting, and yes gross. Poor Sunflowers. :( The area does look amazing with the Lavender, and I can't wait to see this same area later. Every day I learn something new, thank you, and I must add that this month has been a year since I have started following you. I watch a video diligently every day on my lunch break, and take notes. I can now name flowers and trees that I never had a clue what they were before. I went from nothing but grass and shrubs, to foliage, roses, plants and blooms. You are a wonderful teacher! So grateful that you popped up on my feed, and I have been hooked ever since. Especially since you are so hands on, and the bonus of having your husband (don't want to spell his name wrong lol) helping you out, that had set an example for my husband who has volunteered to help me with my new flower bed project. Definitely not saying no to that! I am tearing the yard apart, and I love it!!! A TOAST TO PLANTING!!
I have to say it was a relief to see you using one tool to do something it wasn't meant for. I use the wrong tools for alot of my gardening all the time. Sometimes the handle of my shears hammer steaks into pots, makes rows for my veggie garden, or even remove worms with the sharp end... you always have all the right tools for everything I just knew I was doing it wrong. Thanks for making me feel better about my garden faux pas
Thanks for the research on the cutworm, and actually showing us the pictures, (that was cool!). I will keep an eye out for them in my garden and hope it's not one thing or another; but that doesn't slow us down at all; it's all in the day of our gardens. Btw, I love, love what you did with the lavender. I can't wait for it to flush out and look fairyland!! Happy growing.
That lavender already looks amazing in that area! I love how that area is already so pretty. You are so talented and helpful to me as a beginning gardener. Thanks for always explaining things so that I can understand as well as learn. Wishing you all a glorious day🌞
I love growing lavender. It's something that struggles to grow here in my type of climate, especially in the summer. It's been exteremely hot and I really can't wait to start working on some of the landscape outside. We just moved and haven't been able to do much because we're waiting on remodeling the inside first. Have a beautiful day! I just love your home💕
Thank you both for sharing how to make the most of our yards! Your creativity is catchy🌼Love your style Laura...and your choice in your husband. Awesome family🤗🤗🤗
Love how "your" area around the Galloway is doing. Sorry to see the damage to the sunflowers. You look like you have found the culprit but what a pooper for the invasion. Love your visions.
That area makes my heart sing! Can't wait to see it mature. Did you put any of the starter fertilizer in with the lavender? Also, can you please list what all you planted next to the house?

How do you keep your boxwood so fresh? In the Salt Lake area everyone’s boxwoods look so ratty. Also, is there a variety without the cat liter scent?

I’m going to try this too! My hydrangeas thank u in advance!😍🥰😋
I feel like I can learn as much from the comments section as I do from the videos. I did landscape maintenance in a past life and saw chlorosis occasionally, but never like what we are seeing in our garden where we live now. Thanks for the tip!
Y'all liberally adding epsom salt to your soil best read this first before you ruin your soil:.
www.al.com/living/2015/06/feeding_your_garden_beer_coffe.html
In short, the use of epsom salt is an old wives' tale, at best. At worst, it can outright KILL your plants.
Do some research first, people. Science, not snake oil.
I love these type of videos. No music just some planting with Laura. This seems so relaxing all of a sudden. And I love the transformation of this area.
Plants: yay we are getting shipped to Laura’s house! 😊😊😊Laura: Isn’t this area so pretty! 🥰
And I like that you used a differing tone in that planter than just the usual grey as that variety also feels quite English to me :)
I wish I only had to worry about wind with our Hostas, but I planted up more this year in my shade gardens and the deer found them OF COURSE! and this year, for the first time they have eat up MY Petunias!
So-you absolutely made the RIGHT call on those sunflowers, but I bet your experience already already confirmed that!
"Dang, I wish I would have thought of that before"...I think this is the phrase I utter most in the garden! 🤣🤦♀️
Haha! Me too.🤦♀️
Happened to me a few weeks ago.
Everything looks beautiful! I love how the lavender looks around the circle! Dont let yourself get overly tired especially in the heat!
So pretty as always.... you give that term " Green Thumb " a whole new meaning!!! 🙏❤️😊
So much fun spending time with you this morning! I love when you do a lot of smaller type projects. The lavender looks beautiful! It's going to look amazing spilling over the bricks! Have a great rest of your day!🌻
The lavender is gorgeous, I think I need some in my main garden bed.
That would be so nice.
Search their past videos. They've done several on drip irrigation.
Lavender is my absolute favorite flower/plant!
I love lavender too! 😍
You know Laura ever since you've been pregnant your eyes have been a more vibrant blue...your such a beautiful young woman...not just on the outside, but also on the inside which truly comes out in your character. That's why I enjoy watching your very informative videos. 😍
Blue eyes are the result of a lack of pigment so, just like the color of the sky and the oceans, the blue is the result of a refraction/scattering of light.

Thankfully I've never seen chlorosis until watching your vids so never had to treat it. That space is so beautiful.
Laura I love the lavender. That area is beautiful. I think I might build a circle with bricks around my outdoor table area. Thank you for the inspiration!
Love that you called yourself out and went ahead and fixed the tubing near the lavender;) Good reminder to just do it right!
Laura, I absolutely love your gardening shoes. Thanks for adding a smile to my breakfast!
Hi Laura, You put in so much of hard work, in this condition you must take care and take rest, and you used the auger yourself finally.
I love lavender! In January this year we went to Bridestowe lavender farm inTasmania, Australia. Beautiful!
Bridestowe is INCREDIBLE 💜
Good morning, Laura your circle looks beautiful! I need some lavender and box wood. Have a good weekend💕🌳
The lavender is going to be a show stopper there, they already tie that area together so nice! 💘
Beautiful, that lavender really makes the pathway stand out now. Stunning!
Wow to the difference in the soli here compared to the new tomato garden! This part of the garden looks fabulous!
Oh my gosh Laura, I love this area so much. 💜
"wispy, ethereal, magical....mangy" :)
Laura you are such a workhorse‼️ your a great teacher, your passion for the plants is fabulous. Love it
I love the circle with the gravel and the urn, and now with all that lavender. It's going to look fantastic. Your vision is coming together beautifully. 💜💜💜
Wow! What a beautiful difference the lavender and perennials made!
Love love love. I think this part of your garden is my favorite.
I love the Lavender!! That area is going to be breath taking when it becomes mature!
Study up on its horriculture requirements--a friend had success with hers. Very she did lots of prep soil amending before installing it.
@@svetlacavaleri7071 if you have access to dolomitic lime, use it in the fall to work into the top of soil around the plants. 💜
you're so sincere and passionate about gardening, and just work hard at your designed landscaping.
Thank You so much for taking us along, and sharing your adventure with us. LOve how things are going1 Stay Hydrated!
Lavender is one of my favs, but I have such a hard time keeping it alive.
Probably overwatering
Let’s hear it for the boy! I’m sure I’m not alone when I say I’m enjoying seeing Aaron more and more. Call it a crush, call it an appreciation for variety..but it’s great seeing you two work together and tease and love. You guys are so great together, and the camera totally shows that. Thanks for sharing that small glimpse of your lives! ❤️❤️
Grow your health, Grow a garden
Nurture the environment
Gardening makes you feel happy
Gardening needs your heart to work on thanks Laura now am becoming a better grower.
Always love seeing you in your garden. You are so full of energy and excitement for your plants and so much good info. 😊
I have enjoyed everyday watching all of the content that you share. What a Joy! what a Blessing!!!!! Praying For you All!
Ok...i need a garage tour. I wanna see how you organize all of your tools and supplies.
I wish I had this many plants to plant! I love how you fill in every space.
Wishing you all a glorious day🌞
The lavender around the circle is perfection! This area looks more and more beautiful.
There’s something so satisfying about seeing you plant next to hardscape
That area makes my heart sing! Can't wait to see it mature. Did you put any of the starter fertilizer in with the lavender? Also, can you please list what all you planted next to the house?
I always keep lavender on my night stand. Love the smell! 💚
