💬Something I heard throughout this process for the first time that just blew my mind… the cymbal smashing in the second half of each verse! I hope to do many more Pearl Jam songs as they are also an OG grunge band and still going today. I hope you all enjoy this one and onto the next!💜
I can't thank you enough for what you do. What a great body of work you're creating. I love being able to tap into the library of uplifting videos you've made for us. Thanks again.
I always love to tell the story of my introduction to Pearl Jam. It was 1992 and I was walking to my car to go to lunch. I was a sophomore in high school. My buddy called me over to his car, he was the cool friend who had a Datsun 280 ZX. He put his tape of Ten in and played this song. I’d NEVER heard anything like it. I was from that day forward a card carrying member of the Grunge Era. Grunge music was the angsty soundtrack to my teenage years. And when I hear this song in particular I’m immediately shot back to that high school parking lot and having my mind blown. Great job as always OG!
@@angelagreen778 man I wanted one I had to settle for a 1980 Ford Mustang on its third hundred thousand miles. It was a money put but damn if it didn’t look badass and have a massive stereo in it.
Oh I love it- you took me back with you remembering those days-graduated in ‘94. Hate that I love it but makes me a bit sad looking back considering how things are now. And don’t get me started on Alice In Chains or Soundgarden 🥺😖😢
I was 30 years old the first time I heard "that voice" singing Evenflow, and 32 years later, I still get chills every time I hear it. Great reaction compilation, momma. Another winner,as always!
First song I heard by them was Alive, then this one,in the earlier parts of 1992. Great voice, great playing, great everything. The lyrics to this were tragically resonant in a recessionary period when homelessness and political heartlessness by the powers that be had risen to shocking levels.
Eddie Vedder's voice is just timeless. 33 years later and his voice still has that power and fierceness to it when he wants to call on it. If you compare "Even Flow" and say "Sirens" from their 2013 album "Lightning Bolt" you'd think maybe he's lost a step. He hasn't, he's just tamed it. If you see him performing this song live today, you'll see this version of him is still there with all the power in his voice to back it up.
Imagine getting a cassette tape of three instrumental songs that you handed out looking for a new singer and you get back in the mail Eddie singing fully formed versions of "Alive" "Once" and "Footsteps".
Every time I see vids of the Seattle bands from back then I just feel lucky as hell that even though I lived an hour south I got to see all those bands back in the clubs well before they all got huge. Man it was a special time back then in Seatown you could just feel something special was happening and that it was going to be huge at some point. Who knew back then that everybody would be jamming to our favorite local bands, globally.
Saw them live when they were in their prime , a concert i will never forget , no auto tune ,just pure raw talent, i miss this music, i have 2 favorite radio stations that i listen to that play this aera of music all day, awsome
Go see them live again 😉 IMO they're still in their prime. They all still sound amazing and energetic, minus Vedder scaling walls and crowd surfing. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
Awesome as usual!! I saw PJ at Lalapalooza '92, damn what a day, 1st time seeing both Pearl Jam and the RH Peppers. Mot the place to bring your 11 yr old niece, but we learn as we go. Also fun fact: HURRICANE ANDREW hit Miami the next DAY! Sheer chaos afterwards!
Eddie Vedder is a great singer and was an epic climber at these old concerts. Thank you for your awesome editing and hard work on these reaction compilations!!!
This was fun to watch. Great job. Such a great song. POSSibly a top 100 rock songs of all time, rock , grunge, or whatever. When I was young, I went to a Clapton concert where a guy was climbing the rafters of the coliseum. I hope he did not die as I could not watch.
Another amazing compilation, Momma 🤩 PJ is one of my first rock bands that I hear and love the music and the energy from them since then ❤ Rock ON, people! 😎🤟🏻🔥
Eddie Vedder - Undisputed Champion of the Stage Dive. Saw them in Vegas last week. They played this song with the same energy and ferocity. They's been together for 33 years! Mike McCready's solo gets better every night. I have been to 28 of their shows so far. They never disappoint and they play a different set every night. Can't wait for the two shows at MSG in September!
Seeing them live in the 90s was amazing every single time. They always sounded incredible and put on a great show. And the HAIR YASSSS! #GenX had the best music 😍
Oh Eddie!!!! Everything time PJ comes...I am there!!! Even Flow allows us to hear all the incredible nuances of his awesome voice! The song is about a homeless man..."freezing..rests his head on a pillow made of concrete " And MCready? What? He so underrated! I mean I love this song but Yellow Ledbeter!!! I never miss Eddie!!! Thank you Wondermomma! ❤❤❤😊
One of the best concerts I ever attended was Pearl Jam at Randal’s Island in New York, outdoors in the rain and mud in like 1996. That was a fucking party🙏🙏🙏🙏
Pearl Jam never played the music industry's game. They would rather play the clubs than sell out to grift. Their music continued to grow as they matured. Respect.
Before Greg Purciato (Dillinger Escape Plan), Sid Wilson and Shawn Crahan (Slipknot), all the high scaffold jumping performers...Eddie brought it back in the 90s! From Iggy Pop (Stooges) to Guy Picciotto (Fugazi), Eddie Vedder climbing over live shows was one trademark Pearl Jam moments you’ll ever see in their shows.
"This NOT a TV studio... Josh!" Kills me every time 😅 If I only had the audio I would never guess that's Eddie Vedder. I've never heard him sound cranky.
I love the deep grunge lyrics, like when Eddie Vedder said, Eeling, celing, shamalamadingdong... man, I feel it in my soul... Jk, awesome song choice and video momma!
Unplugged has rules the bands have to follow because its such @ intimate performance.1 is if your sitting while singing you can't stand up.Movements might get the small crowd to move also. That happens @ it could get out of hand quickly
Crazy watching this music video 33 years after being at the show as a young buck. I was right in the middle of the crowd and can be seen a few times lol. Like at 3:27 right when Charismatic Voice goes "ooooh" I'm the one pumping my fist and banging my head the hardest 😂 those were the days!

Believe me, this is the sane live performance, I think this is from "On Two Legs" album. If you want to know the insane live performance look for the videos of "Drop At The Park" concert and the song "Deep" You'll be able to witness how we used to exchange t shirts and jackets for girls and caps 😂😂

This was back when we had hope. When the US wasn't a dystopian nightmare. Not long after, some president (Clinton?) made it so that the radio stations could all be owned by a very few number of companies. I remember a great local radio station around that time went under. They had deep interviews with bands, asking really wonderful, insightful questions. And there were a lot of female "alt rock" artists on the radio. Then they went under. Our local heavy metal station was bought out. And then every DJ just talked about "sex, drugs, and rock n roll" and "tits" and really juvenile stuff. I'm not a prude, but it was just so forced, and very misogynistic. And there were no more female artists in the rock genre being played. That was when the corporations really started taking over the US in full force. Of course, now we see all the propaganda tearing us apart and trying to see each other as the enemy instead of the powerful, corrupt people as the enemy. As a Padres fan (yes, baseball talk) I'm honored each MLB season, to battle the Seattle Mariners (and their fanbase) for the "Vedder Cup". It's a long held (did I say meaningless) tradition, for the winner of the season series to "take it home." Much to the indifference of its namesake, one Eddie Vedder. Who is a Cubs fan, btw. I'm so proud to want something so bad, that has no reason to be in existence. Yet does? Go Padres!!

Still blows my mind the band didn't include him for the Rock and Roll HOF.
Also, damn i love your channel. Great song choices!
