The Hip’s SNL performance of Nautical Disaster (introduced by Dan Aykroyd) is a top 3 television performance for me. Just awesome.

The poetic rants that Gord performs within songs, is actually Gord's way of writing new lyrics for new songs, that eventually become featured on the next HIP album. He improvises and writes new lyrics DURING every performance. No other frontman writes lyrics like that! Including 'Dylan'. Gord is picking fresh autumn apples, directly from the apple tree, so he can bake more 'apple pies'. A fearlessly genius poet and extraordinary performer. But more importantly, he was an everyday man of our common people who both shared and expressed all of our wildest dreams on the stage, and on record. He is deeply missed and forever locked into the deepest depths of our joyous hearts.

@@Roryreacts Exactly! No element of art was off limits with Gord. He approached and performed each song as though it was a short cinematic film, within a stand-up performance, within a Broadway show, within a Rock concert, held at a pub. Fun facts: Gord loved Freddy and the Bee Gees. Also, Queen Elizabeth II made many visits to Canada, including a trip in October 2002 when The Tragically Hip performed for the Queen and Prince Philip at the Queen’s Jubilee. A revival preacher. I hadn't really noticed this. Bruce Springsteen admittedly incorporate a preachy revival atmosphere at his concerts. Like Gord he's among the best at stage presence.
