ruclips.net/video/xRm_OvIOg6A/видео.html. Its my dads buddy as well as mine haha. That thing is bad ass and hes not afraid to run it hard. Rode it in 4 times now. He is a really great guy.
I love silver lake haven't had the pleasure to run the dunes in 20 years or more even though i live 20 miles away just dont have the vehicle for it. My sons run the dunes in there jeep they said dad i thought you said test hill is huge i laughed said go back tomorrow it will change. Idk if you can run all year around but my favorite time of year was December and January to run the dunes. Nobody was there had place to our selfs except other die hard locals and test in December or January was a hole different animal. the sand was hard as a rock the hill was a 45 degree climb straight up it felt youw ould get 15 feet from the peek and it looked like sand but it would be a 15 foot razor snow drift at the top with a crust of sand that made it look solid and BOOM you would break through and go straight down for 100 feet drop with snowy sand all down your coat and inside your helmet. Good times.
I remember when I was 16 test hill seemed a lot bigger but then again I was running a 1995 Chevy Blazer with 200,000 miles on it. I wish they would keep the dunes open year round but they do not. I bet it was sweat to run around in the snow. I know opening day weekend a few years ago I went up and the dunes were wild as they were still frozen with snow under the sand. Well hopefully you make it up there sometime to reminisce. My parents go every year during the Hero's in the dunes weekend. Its this upcoming weekend.
I’m curious: why did you remove all the doors from the suburban?! Is it just for weight saving? I’m guessing the truck doesn’t get used for anything other than play time?! Looks like my ideal work truck with some normal tyres...(and doors! 😂) 😁
I do a whole video on builds of these trucks. The key is to remove as much weight as possible. They ride like a dream in the dunes. As for the doors they can be taken off or ran on the truck. Way funner with the doors off though.
i noticed that blue rail has super trap spark restorers. real shame you have to cork the exh at those dunes. if he hasn't and it pass's inspection i would add a small washer in between each plate for better flow.
He is on the edge of not passing so there is no way to open it up more. I do know that exhaust restriction on a SC 3.8 has a huge influence on HP in them engines.
@@PostalRedneck down in oklahoma dunes ( little sahara ) there are no noise restrictions or spark arresters. open 24/7 and lots of camping on site so you can drive from camp into the dunes. really not sure why silver lake has those restrictions and i do understand what your saying.
There are 2 types of jeep rentals. One where you go out on your own and have fun or one where they have a lead person and you follow them around so you get to know the dunes.
is he running an electric fan? I know it overheated because the belt came off, but do the tahoes and the suburban usually stay cool when playing on the dunes from your experience?
sounded like you were really enjoying yourself in that really nice blue sand rail! did i hear him right in the video that he was pacing that colorado in 2nd gear?
@@PostalRedneck I went with a 3 link and panhard bar in the front I sas to a dana 44hd hp 410 gears with chevy 3/4 ton outers. Swapped the rear to a 14bolt 410 gears to match the front. I have 5" prerunner fenders and a 2.5" cowl hood. 52" curve led light bar and the front seats are 4 point buckets.
Dang sounds nice. Also sounds an offal lot like my Tahoe. Its a dana 44hp coil 4.56 gears and a 14 bolt 4.56 gears. Has cage off road progressive coils in the front. One of these days im going to have to do a video on that build. Here's a video of me beating it a bit. ruclips.net/video/AXTI7HTiYsg/видео.html
I want to see more of that blue Tahoe that pulled the Burban out! That looked badass

What was the deal with the line of identical red Jeeps?

@@PostalRedneck Ah, so the 4wd equivalent of a summer camp trail ride...lol
Pretty much. You have to watch them like a hawk if they are out on there own because have the time they dont know what they are doing.

Yeah they hold up good as long as your not WOT for too long and keep moving.

Yeah. That sand rail is quite fun. He said he hit 3rd at one point but that Colorado was hauling.
I'm almost done building my preburb. Would be cool to meet out there and throw some sand!
Heck yeah. Ill be in Disaster Transport a 2001 Chevy Tahoe. You kinda doing the same thing or did you go more extreme?
