Monogatari is the only series I have watched that the story is so coheresive that it doesnt feel like it is a spin-off even when secondary characters become main characters...
@@mrmeme29 It had a more low-budget indie feel (because it actually was low budget) and had a different director than the rest of the series (Tastuya Oishi). It's clear the new director (Midori Yoshizawa) was very inspired by Oishi, maybe even more so than Itamura was (who directed everything post-Bakemonogatari besides Kizumonogatar), judging by the use of real life footage again :)
Ngl, now I want to see both with just the instrumental versions of both songs to see how they seem to compliment each other (it might sound well without the voices overlapping).
