Lovely project! In the past I have had problems with the edges of the spines cracking as well. I'm working on a Steampunk journal and I used black gorilla tape for the spine. LOL!! I'm not going to cover it with anything else. 😊

Suggest using a Wide Width Clear Tape on the food box on the binder edges, before you apply the decorative paper. I’ve used this method before and it works well. Then you can add other supportive edges to the binder if needed, as you prefer. Best wishes everyone!

I sure wish the paper makers would solve the cracking of folded edges. Nice how you took care of that problem.

Use a wide width Clear Tape on the food box Before covering with decorative paper. I’ve used this method before and it works. Then you can always decorate the binding edge with other reinforcement.

I’m really enjoying the videos on making a journal. I noticed you used regular scrapbooking paper and had it coffee dyed. I would love to see a video on how you go about dying her scrapbooking paper and also making it so flat for use in my projects.
