I've always thought it was absolutely insane that she only got a 7 year sentence in the first place! If he hadn't gotten treatment when he did, he very well could have died, and if he didn't die from the infection, I'm certain she would have ended up killing him. And then to only serve half of her sentence? That's exactly what's wrong with our justice system :/ People who purposely harm others shouldn't be sentenced so lightly, and they should have to serve the full term of their sentencing. The law just further persecutes the victims by giving their abusers a slap on the wrist and releasing them back into world >_

It's refreshing for a change to hear of someone in law enforcement who is passionate about doing their job who care about the people they are employed to protect. All too often, we only hear of cases where they have either botched investigation or initially didn't take a case seriously, etc. Sadly, those who those who do care about their jobs are often misjudged by the behavior & actions of their less than stellar counterparts.

We need to hear more positivity because there are many who go above & beyond yet are judged by the actions and behaviors of their less than stellar co-workers. The media for the most part believes negativity sells & I'm sure it does, but there are consequences in informing the general public with a steady diet of negativity. It has the power to change public opinion soley based on what is reported, not the full story.
I realize when greed is the motivator it's hard to change habits. I've often heard media outlets respond to why negativity out sells positivity saying that's what we the public wants. IMO not only is that untrue, but it's an assumption. I believe more people would find it refreshing to hear a positive story. And in response to that's what the public wants based on sales, we'll maybe that's all we're given to be informed. I can only speak for myself, but I don't recall ever being given a choice in the matter. The media has huge amounts of power with little to no standards to operate within. Until some standards are in place nothing will ever change except it getting worse.

It is something that males are endocrinated early in their youth not to accept or even talk about, especially in the cultures like the USA!! It's sickening and needs to stop now. I am glad to see cases of men being abused, and even killed by their domestic partners/ex partners. I feel they need to be brought to attention more frequently, as society tends to sweep the problem under the rug. I can't imagine what this does to the men who are/or have gone thru this. I know in my city, men have no resources available to them if they are victims of DV.
In college I took a class on DV, and it was aggravating that it was not only not acknowledged, but when I brought it up they acted like it wasn't an issue that needed to be addressed. In this class I also found out that there are no shelters available in my area for men. Yet in my experience, I seen men being abused more often.

Thank you for bringing attention to the women offenders. So many men still believe they can't speak out without looking weak or like they are overreacting. Some people also think women can't do anything to hurt a man because of the difference in physical strength but a lot of it is done with weapons, poisoning, objects, furniture and even cars. It's not hard to over power someone while they are sleeping or very drunk. My advice for men is, get to know the woman first before getting into a serious relationship and leave right at the first sign of abuse. Never sleep with someone you don't know well! I know that might be hard for some people but it's the best for everyone involved, including the child you could conceive.

Thank you again for bringing these cases to us. You're my absolute favourite & the only channel I have notifications for, & sometimes I'm up late enough (or early enough 😜18-20hr ahead of you) to get it as you post. Despite the subject matter, it makes me happy because of the good work that you do & I'm glad to support it!

It boggles the mind how anyone of any gender can treat another human being with such disregard, abuse & lack of respect. Not to mention, make a routine of it.

I think Sharon did what she did to the lawyer because he got her ex boyfriend off from abusing her making the courts think she was a liar!!! She had a plan in place as soon as he sent that friend request to make him fall for her and abuse him. Abuse will really mess you up mentally that's no excuse though and she should have gotten a lot more time than 20 years minimum 🤦‍♀️ same thing with Jordan she deserved more time than 7 years and should have stayed longer than she did...

I was confused by that case. I'm wondering if she was actually the abuser in the first relationship and then just continued her usual behavior.

@nicolepettus894 Maybe. I'm thinking her being the abuser is more likely. Then she probably sniffed out this guy's vulnerability and repeated her behavior. That's my guess anyway.

First story - Jordyn and Alex. Great ending for Alex, Here's hoping all great and marvelous things happen for him. That Jordyn is engaged to the right one...a brick layer. If she tries that stuff with him, she may wind up under the bricks or with one upside the head.

David 's story makes no sense. He had a loving relationship with the Mother of his child. He understood what a healthy relationship was. After they broke up he actually initiated contact with a woman he knew was violent, manipulative, dangerous and a liar......and then he gets into a relationship with her? WTF?!! Nobody-male or female-deserves to be in a violent, controlling relationship. Respect yourself and your family and get out of it.

What I noticed with Alex and Edward is the rationale they both used for staying. Both said they loved their partners and indicated they hoped things would get better. Both were reluctant to report the abuse. Sounds just like what abused women often say when asked why they stay and don’t report the abuse.
One would think Edward would have known about Sharon when he defended her ex-boyfriend against the false claims she was abused.

It’s sickening what Jordan did but I’m sorry no one should be able to convince anyone of swallowing pills to prove your telling the truth ! He was just as big as her and he could have left and walked away at any time but he didn’t he allowed himself to be manipulated and abused and victimized ! I’m sure I’ll get some backlash for this comment but cmon people be real and admit that some people will allow themselves to be abused and put up with things that other people won’t ! If I was him she could not have done that to me ! Sorry !

I haven't even made it halfway through the story of Alex and I'm so angry!!!
If anyone is reading this and feels like they are in a relationship where they are isolated from friends & family because of your partner, you need to RUN away from them as fast as you can. One of the first things in an abusive relationship is trying to isolate the victim for complete control. Your life is worth something and if someone loves you they will NEVER abuse you and they will NEVER CHANGE!!!!
