THE DAY THE LOST BOYS DIED

- The Lost Boys was a cult classic vampire flick that redefined the genre and united the Two Coreys ( Corey Haim and Corey Feldman )
Many vampire series owe a lot to The Joel Schumacher movie ---
Many shows and movies were inspired by it's iconic status--- unfortunately, it's sequels for some reason did not.
The Lost Boys : The Tribe and The Lost Boys : The Thirst are a slap in the face of it's once great legacy.

"One thing about living in Santa Carla I never could stomach. All those damn vampires." Such an epic closing line, delivered awesomely by Grandpa.
That twist was brilliant.
Grandpa is a badace!
“My own brother, a blood sucking vampire!” Was my fav quote.
Facts
I always thought it looked like grandpa was drinking the bloodwine in that scene
I was class of '87 in high school, perfect age for Lost Boys, and I had no idea there were sequels.
That must've been awesome to see The Lost Boys in theaters back then
@@MellowMutant You know, I gotta say, in terms of movies it was a great decade to be a kid and teen in. We were spoiled for choice.
I've never seen the sequels, and don't plan to anytime soon. The original movie is iconic, thanks to the memorable performances from the iconic cast. You just can't capture lightning in a bottle twice.
There were no sequels.
Don’t. They both suck(no pun intended)
@@custardstuff5178there are two direct to video sequels that just shyt all over this
I like part 2 is pretty good❤
Cory Feldman dissing the 2nd film but yet stars in it
Why not it’s not like actors aren’t self aware. I have seen a great many actors and actresses tell the truth about a movie. However a check is a check.
This PROVES sometimes Movies Don't Need Sequels
Amen to that
Not prequels or reboots
The OG is still one of my favorite horror movies of all time. The sequel, not so much
I think a sequel in like 1990 with the original cast returning could've been cool.
Nerds In Paradise is an incredible sequel
The Lost Boys needs a generation to tap into to help support it.
A sequel in the 90’s, back during boom of grunge and that weird era when being in full addiction was also a trend in fashion and the goth rockers and all of that… they could have done a movie then. Set it in a new city with a whole new story.
But instead they thought nostalgia alone would be enough to create a franchise and it wasn’t
only saw the first sequel and it felt like a pilot to a tv show
I’m an 80’s baby.. class of ‘82 to be exact. I love The Lost Boys!! I loved the Corey’s when I was a kid. But watching the previews of the sequel was enough for me to cry. 😂😂😂
Little Sister
you like lost boys cause youre a goonie, like all the fans too
@@369frequencyandvibration👌
Michael's glasses never had silver on them.
Mandela Effect.
If they had come out with a lost girls' movie in the 80s, like they originally planned, they probably still would have captured a bit of that magic. I never watched the sequels because they look so painfully bad, and the 2010s had so many throwaway actors and movies.
I didn't even know that there were sequels. Wish it'd have stayed that way
My favourite RUclipsr talking about my favourite film, what a day. Thank you Vee
Hard same, my friend!
Still got a copy on VHS in the collection, we never got the sequels in Australia.
*_"We are Lost Boys!"_* 100% you should do a video on the original LB movie, and why it’s _still,_ to this day, arguably the greatest *#Vampire**/**#ComingOfAge* movies in history!
I’d like to see a video on the first lost boys, Vee. I enjoyed this quite a bit!:)
SO MANY THINGS TO UNPACK: first off, edgar frog was based on rambo. secondly, i was at the unofficial launch at the viper room in 2008 w/ corey haim a week before he died and g tom mac (cry little sister) played and did their song 3 times in a row. thirdly, a few years later g tom mac opened for corey feldman at the whisky and they milked the hell outta cry little sister. lastly, in 2013 corey feldman opened for orgy at the whisky (weirdest lineup ever)!
Thank you for this. I saw Corey perform the theme song here on YT. Sad and horrified, I can never watch the movie again. I may lose my mind if he does, "Goonies Are Good Enough".
This is my favorite Vampire movie but damn the sequels didn't need to exist
2nd favpurite for me
I would say john carptners vampires is my favourite
its your favorite movie like the goonies
I never write these styles of comments but I'm inspired:
"The vampires look different in every scene."
Me imagining Feldog explaining this: "the rules were set up in the first movie, man, no two go out the same. That also applies to how they look, they're shapeshifters, dude. This was actually an idea I pitched to Schumacher and he loved it but we didn't have CGI back then, I'm finally getting to realize me and Joel's original vision."
It was really crappy that haim only got a cameo after ending credits when he was so excited for the sequel
Great upload!! I would LOVE to hear you talk about more 80's movies 🍿😃
I feel so bad about Corey Haim having this movie as one of his last films. He had a horrible time on this set. Feldman screwed him over and first told him they didn’t want him for the movie, but the producer told him that without Haim they didn’t want him. He then used Haim’s breakdown on the Two Coreys.
We are the Lost Boys!!! Great video and would love to see one on the original. Still my favorite movie and the sequels are just atrocious. Loved finally getting out to the Boardwalk and got the chance to see Tim Cappello at a little dive bar in Tampa years ago, nicest guy!!
I used to live in Santa Carla. We called it something else, tho. Not many vampires, but absolutely tons of weed.
Great concept for a video
Fuck that, the saxophone wrestler is amazing.........
Corey haim should have had more of a part in the movie. Helping hunt the vampires or werewolves. Even as a vampire.
Sucks he was never was in the 3ed movie.
Everyone brought their "A" game to the original. From the writer, director, cast and those that put that awesome soundtrack together. It wasn't just a great movie, it became part of our culture. We hold that shit sacred and no sequel or remake will ever be good. 🤘
They will be made it a week movie set in the Lost Boy universe, then sequels could have had some interspecies combat.
so basically it just Corey acting like Corey
I have the two horrendous sequels on DVD because it was in a pack with the 1st movie.
I despise them but I wasn’t gonna pass up my chance to get the 1st movie on DVD.
…….also Feldman calling them crappy as if he didn’t play in them both and made me question if I could watch any of his past movies to cleanse my mind of the utter mindfuck that is the sequels 🤦♀️
Originally the sequel pitched was the idea that David survived and was to be the new villain.
Love this film
We are lost boys.
Yup, had no idea that there were sequels.
Another comment, Feldog's voice in the first was his attempt at a Stallone, as he pseudo-method acted by playing as Rambo. I think he said Schumacher told him to watch Rambo to get inspiration and he went all in. It wouldn't be Feldog if it wasn't awkardly over the top.
There’s a trilogy??!! I love the lost boys. It’s one of my favourite films of all time. Ok I don’t know what to do now! 😂
A video blowing OG Lost Boys is NEVER a bad thing. Do it!
1:20 am still a fan because it finished the storyline of the Frog bros..... call it a guilty pleasure
Was the first one so great because the actors, the script, the director etc? Why is it so magical to me, because it is, I love that movie.
thank you for covering this, this was awesome
I believe Corey Feldman was doing a terrible Rambo voice...
The fact that he didn't think to not do it, just wow. Dude is really too far gone
Lost boys is awesome but I believe Fright Night brought the vampire genre back.
Also there's a big connection between buffy and the Lost boys the special effects make up for the vampires as I believe the same guy did them both
man im old santa cruz all the punks in this are my bros i rember when this was being made some of the bordwalk is actully down town the comic shop i grew up in evryone in santa cruz kinnda hated it when it came out but now ya it looks like sc also the skinhead jerry youngren who gets killed at beach was a freind rip
I think if there was any other movie in the Lost Boy franchise. Joel should have actually tried to make the prequel he wanted to do while the iron was still hot with David when he was still human as a biker in the 60s with the villains being a gang of lady vampires
You can't have The Lost Boys without Kiefer Sutherland
11:32 Enjoyed The Thirst better than the tribe Feldman’s song “Disconnected “ was cool.
I don't even treat those sequels as canon, just someone else's fanfic, the original is self contained and all you need 👍
I had no idea these movies were made
You're doing The Crow next?
The comic sequels are really good and if they could've made that sequel in the late 80s or 90s, it could've been cool as long as the original cast did return.
I'm not surprised it is being remade.
they want the money
That's what interesting that the script for the first sequel was add something to do with werewolves and it was turned into a Lost boys movie
Because I know the first one is getting remade or it's supposed to and I've been saying instead of remaking it take the basic formula and switch it up instead of vampires use werewolves or something
"have you ever seen something that was so bad, but you wanted it to be so good?" ... Every Resident Evil movie.
Death By Stereo!
I believe Haim's last appearance on film was that cameo in one of those terrible Feldog sequels. That just feels wrong. I'm sure Feldog loves it, but Haim shouldn't have gone out like that, he was a good dude.
Can you do the day the howling died video (the latest one wasn't bad and it wasn't good it was a bit of both)
We need a reboot series by the same writers from Cobra Kai. ❤️
I saw both of these movies and didn't hate them. Yeah, they were bad, but I had a bit of fun watching them. But they always felt more like spinoffs than actual sequels.
I seen the first sequel and that was enough to never watch any the others the original was my first horror movie as a kid and it's one of my favorite movies of all time
FAVORITE & BEST VAMPIRE MOVIE PERIOD!!!!!! PROVE ME WRONG!!!
Liked the third film's reveal and concept of the first vampire. Prefer the third focused on the Frogs than the 2nd film though.
Please do a video on the original film.
Holy shit there's a part 2?!?!?;
i loved the lost boys…i think had they not waited 20 years they couldve pulled been pulled off with the story of max and the grandpa.
When I was asked a kid what I wanted to be when I grew up, I said Kiefer Sutherland.
i know about them but never saw them, not even trailers
I thought the second film was garbage. The third film was alright. SPOILERS there’s also werewolves in this universe.
"...as they share the same last name." 😂😂😂
We are lost boys!
Lost boys never die!!!!
I did see sweet, sweet Autumn Reeser in one sequel.
Oh man, Batman, Joker AND Harley Quinn want me to subscribe? Guess I will then 😂
*Must be the day, when I found out DAVID was 5'5*
I hope the new remake rumors arent true...last i heard the actors/kids were going to be younger the original ones...which would be like 14-16-ish. Yea, that was in the original plot/movie, but thank god they upped the age like they did amking the characters more relatable. Besides, given current day movies and the whole "modern audience" thing....no, no no we dont want that.
I love this movie but I never can watch it without remembering what Hollywood did to both Cory Haim and Feldman.
you know, the real vampires of hollywood ,like the name of johnny deep rock band.....
Having Werewolves in the lost boys universe woulda have been cool😂
that's what I thought about Feldmans snarly way of talking
"We are lost boys." Love your videos.
Yes this made made me so mad like why do this to a classic 😢
The original was literally the best Vamp movie ever.
😂 Watching the Corries talk shit on the sequel idea 😂
We are lost boys
The ONLY good scene from either sequel was leaving Batman #14 at Sam's grave. As much as I hated both sequels, that was spot on.
Need the original lost boys video stat...
LOST BOYS NEVER DIE
I’ve never seen the Lost Boys sequels, and I don’t really plan on it. This video is about as much as I care to see of these movies. In my mind, there’s only one The Lost Boys.
I dunno, The Thirst had its moments. I did like the scene where the asshole comes into the comic shop asking for the "graphic novels". I've never liked that phrase when it's used to refer to comics or trade paperbacks. It comes off almost as bad as when people call professional wrestling "sports entertainment", so I got a kick out of Zoe telling him they sell comic books in the store not graphic novels.
Lost boys in my eyes is a 1 and done film.
you like caves and boys adventures.....
Alan Frog was sick and tired of Edgar Frog talking the way he does. This is what happened the night Alan left the team the Frog brother's vampire slayer team.
Alan: Edgar we are now in are 40s remember when I said something to you when we turned 21.
We had 3 years of zero vampire involved the night we killed a small nest when we was 18.
Edgar: yeah I remember that night we went to that rave on the hunt for vampires didn't find any that year but I did find something that night and also lost forever was my virginity.
Alan Frog: yeah that was all great times .
I'm talking about the way you talk.
Edgar Frog: what's wrong on how I talk. Been talking like this for ever.
Alan no you only started talking like that because of Sam and I went along with it thinking it was are alter Eagles as Vampire slayers we was 14 and 15 years old then .
Then a huge fight breaks out .
Edgar Frog: OK I don't like the way you look still look like you did when we killed are first vampire.
At 14 you 15 years old .
Alan Frog: I can change my clothes can you talk like an adult and not a cocky know it all 14 year old boy. Plus we both dressed like we did at 14 .
Edgar Frog ran up to his brother Alan Frog shoved him to the wall Alan pushed Edgar off turned to walk away both brothers 🥴 drunk Edgar took one of the whiskey bottles and launched it towards Alan just missing him and hitting the front door as broken glass cuts Alan Frog face and Edgar never seen his brother .
Edgar Frog: it's been a few years after I slayed the tribe .
Now I feel a new vampire gang entering my town.
They have a thirst and hunger for my town.
Edgar Frog can satisfy that hunger for you vampires I got the stakes
I got lots of Holy water for that Thirst they have.
The Tribe did get one thing right, though. Autumn Reeser...
The 2nd one wasn’t as bad as the 3rd - the 3rd totally forgot the rule that all blood suckers die in a different way- they actually forgot their own law!!!!
Of course the first one is 80’s spectacular ❤
I have crush on the wolf girl in the 3ed and why did we not see her wolf out? 4 th movie with werewolves?
They should have kept the werewolves and have the frog brothers hunt werewolves.
I watched the sequels out of just hunger.
The Lost Boys died? Oh cos the sequels happened?
Yes I would like a movie break down of the rest of the shitty lost boys
OMGGGGGGG
I had no idea any sequel existed. 😵🤮
