I’ve been following Loren for a long time, ever since she was on The Voice about 12 years ago. She disappeared for quite a while before appearing on David Foster about 5 years ago. I believe she was already in the ensemble backup singers of the movie when she was asked to sing the demo, and she was wait staffing at the same time. She was 1 of 40 acts voted in to perform on AGT Fantasy League based on that appearance on BGT in 2022. Each coach picks 10 acts from that list. Luckily, Simon picked her as he already knew her from BGT. Here, she shortened the early part of the song, and then made the important improvement by making that key change. All in all, a super performance. On to the semifinals on Monday 1/29/24. What will she sing there?
like you said, it was pretty much the same as the original yes there were some changes but not many the held note at the end is part of the original version, Hollywood is notorious for using voice actors particularly in the 'Golden Age' of Cinema but as we all now know they still do it. It was actually the actress herself that suggested it be Loren's voice in the movie, no matter what, Loren deserves her moment in the spotlight. The year Loren was on BGT there were also a few other contestants that got through who were already professional performers and the British public was not happy at all
It was not pretty much the same this version was a step up compared to the movie version which was fantastic by the way. Here are the differences that to me makes this version even better than the movie one: 1) She started to sang the song acapella 2) She did very different riffs and runs and note changes 3) She started to sing the song a semitone lower compared to the movie than after that big modulation she jump a semitone higher and started to sing the song in the original key 4) She sustained the last note way longer compared to the movie version and added glissando to reach and sustain another higher note compared to the movie version. So if the movie version was fantastic this new version was phenomenal!!! The only thing that bothered me is that they cut the song a little bit. And yes she is professional singer and quite famous because she did concerts with David Foster, Andrea Bocelli, Micheal Bolton, she released an Ep with six songd called I hear your voice which is absolutely beautiful, she sang the soundtrack for the Final Fantasy game but she didn't reach yet that Global fame or the Diva status that she really deserves!!! Nowadays there are singers way less talented than her that are global superstars!!! I really hope that Loren will reach that type of Fame soon
