So theirs a trick when the ribbons don't line up with he length you need, twist the stick horizontal which will allow it to get closer to the tree, then you have to fight w it to get it to go back vertical but it works well.
I actually had my Hawk Helium kick out on me this past Friday. I have the full size (3 step) stick. I was on the second step and was reaching around to grab my lineman's rope and the whole bottom kicked out. I was solo hunting and hit the deck from about 5' up. I'm lucky I missed my bow when I hit the ground - rolled my ankle, but all in all was ok. Definitely will pick these up for my sticks.
Happen to me as well this weekend on the last step going up. Thankfully I was ahold of a big limb to catch myself. I just placed my order! Thank you for showcasing these!
I have the same sticks and nylon daisy chains. I never use the daisy chains but instead I tie the rope in such a way that there is zero budge and no chance of kick out. Just have to tweak it and work it out. Your idea is great too.
If you tilt the stick to the side you can then put it through the slot that you couldn’t. The stick will be tight to tree as well. Also, you must make sure that the rope, strap or such isn’t too steep of an angle because that will cause any step to kick out. I’ve used both daisy and buckle strap. Buckle strap works every time and the stick literally moves downward maybe 4 inches if that when I step on it. Just my thoughts from my experience with daisy chain and buckle straps.
exactty what I need!
Truckers hitch in the ribbon daisy chain does the same thing.
Good to know! God bless!
I should have specified that I do this with the factory webbing straps.
Thanks you for this video, only video I found useful in the last hour
Glad we could help!
Glad u did this video , I had one kick out yesterday while takeing my set down. And luckily I had my lineman belt on. Little sore but I'll live .
Glad you’re ok. Stay safe. God bless!

That is also another option but more aggravating haha. Stay safe good luck!
Had the same thing happened to me this afternoon. Fortunately I was not very high up, only ended up with some bruises on the ribs.
Glad everything is ok. Stay safe out there. God bless!

Sorry to hear that. Glad you are ok. Definitely better options available for the hawk stick attachment method. Good luck the rest of the season!

Jetta is spot on...turn the stick to get slack, loop it and straighten the stick. I love these daisy chains. The sticks are a little too heavy tho
What snd how is your aider attached?
With the bolt that comes with it, through the standoff.
Eastern Woods outdoors cable aider. Complete bolt set up included with purchase. Hope this helps!
Nothing like a good Squabish hitch to make your sticks stick.
