one additional "pro" for the daisy chain you left out is that the extra slack can be used as a step aider by hooking it and drooping it under the bottom steps. I've seen it done by another RUclipsr. And the con you had with the Daisy chain coming off the knob is easily fixed by attaching it with the "around and thru method" instead of just hooking the end onto the knob. Thanks for showing all three, I just made my own sticks and need to buy one of those 3 methods, I'm leaning towards Daisy chain.
Thanks for the video. Food for thought, look into a better holster for your CW. If you feel the need to be adjusting it that much it's not being supported properly.
When using the straps with buckles, attach the loop end to the versa button, not the buckle end loop. This will allow you to throw the buckle around the tree and the weight of the buckle will easily make it around the tree. I have Muddy Pro (originals 3-steps & 32" long) and I agree with you about the straps not being long enough for large trees. I may switch to the rope mod, that you demonstrated.
Bike inner tube cut to cover the cam buckle and for me it's the best attachment method. It gets me the best bite and tightest fit except for ratchet straps. Also I've had problems with not getting my rope mod attached properly and nearly fell once just been sketched out to use them since.
The way shown to tie the rop mod on the button is completely wrong and not very safe. Will it work yes. May it not fail maybe. This should be corrected so someone doesn't watch this and it fail. Rope goes around tree under button then behind rope to sinch then one or two half hitches are tied.
I tossed the buckle portion of the strap and tie it off like you do your rope mod (but I go under instead of over). I carry one buckle with me in case the bottom of the tree is too big for the Hawk straps.

Put the end of the rope/daisy chain in the bottom standoff. Use the stick to reach around behind bigger trees that you can't throw the rope or daisy chain around.
dude i saw the deer in the back and was like "does he have pet deer or something" XD then they ran off and i was pretty amazed how they were right there as u were getting set up
@@DIYHunter they make a shrink wrap tape of you put a few rounds of it up by your loop (eye) that first attached to the button and hit the tape with heat. It will shrink around your loop . Causing a smaller and tighter loop around the button. But still flexible. Even in cooler temperatures.

one thing that helps and is so important if using daisy chains is to cam the stick a bit, so put the stick on kindof off to an angle then hookk your daisys on both sides then pull stick back to the verticle position. by moving the stick ouut at an angle before attatching it into position it creates slack. the only bad thing abouit this method is it works too good somtimes and is hard to get off tree. but if you practice a few times you will start to see exactly how much camming you need.. great show, gl to everyone this season
If you turn your buckle around it would work alot better than the other two. The simplicity that the cam strap has is better than using a process to anchor tie a step in the dark. But everyone has their personally choice.
Imagine he just whips up a gun and start saucing at them deer. Would've been legendary. The dog in the background is too good too lol made the whole video
2:56 best part of the video
Forreal, says dog won't walk off unless he says so. Then the dog walks off to investigate the deer then comes running back with a stick ahahhaha.

I’d have to say the daisy chain and rope. Almost interchangeable. I really do like the rope method. And weight is irrelevant. Interchangeable really
Thanks for the video.

Get into big timber. These oaks and maples are to large. Had to go to ropes, roughly 8 foot for the first stick works fine

Our first stick has a 8’ rope and then they shorten going up the tree, leave the sticks numbered so we know. To many big trees

Girth hitch the loop on the button problem solved with the Dailey chain
Girth hitch the daisy chain onto the versa button.
Great minds!
For your daisy chain rope, you can add a short piece of rubber hose or tube, to your step loop, & cinch it up, so it can’t fall off.

Any one catch the deer in the bottom right at 3:04?
I did
Can you send me a close up of what knot you put in rope mod at end
I’ve been taught under button behind rope back over top and over hands you went over button first. Is this normal?

My Hawk minis came with the VersaStrap... Not a fan... I wrap it like the the rope and go on up.
Thanks for the review man!
I like the stock daisy chain webbing...
Where did you buy the 3/8” static rope?
You put the other end of the cam buckle strap on the knob first makes it awhole lot easier 😂 makes it just as quick as the other ones

A lab running them out of her territory haha
Add your shrink tape to stiffen up your loop on your Daisy chain.
Explain a little?

Does 8mm rope work with the Hawk sticks button?
Not positive on that one
After using muddy pros that have the rope now swapping to beast sticks and rope is the way to go
What kind of sticks are those?
Great info. What type of rope did you use for your rope mod? and for your bottom stick, did you start with an 8' rope or more/less?
I would guess It to be 8 pretty much. It’s climbing rope 8mm so there is no stretch
Solid!!!
What about a dual hook ratchet strap? May be loud but you talk about being anchored.
To loud by a ton
Thanks for the info. I'm curious if you have ever used a stick like that and your rope for a one stick?
I'm thinking of using 550 paracord
What do you mean by “for a one stick” ?

Thanks. I agree about coming down. I'm thinking about ascending and descending SRT style. Just stop on the way down and grab the step.
Put a bike tube over the buckle 😮 no more noise.

This is 8mm climbing rope
what climbing sticks do you use

Woulda been a much better video 😂
Double loop your daisy chain to your cleat and it won't come off.
None of the above. Try installing a cam cleat and amsteel rope. Faster to put on a tree and holds more solid to the tree. Great start to the video.
Appreciate
Drop the stick and shoot the buck
Yeah I realize he’s a year into the woods just saying!
