Interesting how Clark connects losing Lois to the complete destruction of Metropolis, and especially the Daily Planet, in his dream. Especially since they no longer live or work there. He really needs to take this cancer problem to his mother Lara. I would have to think that a civilization like the Kryptonians had to deal with this at some point in their history given the kinds of tech that they played around with.

Talk about a rough nightmare for Clark. Superman failing to save Lois while the city of Metropolis, which Superman usually saves falls apart around him. With the reveal that Lois is diagnosed with cancer, it makes sense for Clark to have nightmares about losing the love of his life. It's a very human thing to deal with, and something Superman's powers can't solve.
I guess him flying in his sleep is the same as everyone else trying to run or walk. In reality he would have gone fast enough and been there to move her 5 times by the time the ball fell.
