I was born and spent the first 28 of my 47 years in Edinburgh and never once saw the Northern Lights there. You guys come over and see them within the first five minutes. I thought I was depressed before, but now... 😃
Yeah, sorry for rubbing that in 😆 we were hoping seeing them here was normal, but realise perhaps it isn't 😔
How nice to experience Christmas in Scotland. Very special! 🌲🌟
It really is!
Pahhh Crimbo HOGMANAY is the best, next year with some friend you will do the FIRST FOOTING, it cant be beat.
@@gabbymcclymont3563 So true, when my wife and i migrated to Redcliffe just north of Brisbane, we were lost for what to do at Hogmanay, very dead in Brisbane compared to Edinburgh my home town. That was back in 1964 live at Clontarf Beach since 1970.PS my maternal Granny's maiden name is Taylor.
An incredibly wholesome video, seeing how happy the both of you are is truly inspiring! What an adventure! Can't wait to follow the journey from here! Btw 33 degrees currently.
G'day and welcome to Scotland guys. I am a Scossie who lived near Brisbane for 17 years. "Stanthorpe mostly" I am glad to see you are experiencing the welcome that I got when I lived in Australia. Lots of things are different but nothing serious. You are going to miss the sun though :-)
Thanks for watching ☺️. We're loving being here and glad the 'days' are getting longer 🌞
@@taylors-explore I tell people there are only two cities in the world I would consider living in. Brisbane and Edinburgh. I have spent time in many countries. And despite the weather this wee one is probably the best when all things are considered. A bit biased of course :-)
@@ianmacewan9416 I must have got lucky then Ian, 25 years in Edinburgh apart from time in the Army in Cyprus, then here to Redcliffe which is next door to Brissie, been here since 1964.PS my grannies maiden name is Taylor.
@@duncancallum I lived in Strathpine for about a year Duncan. I know Redcliffe well.
Welcome to Scotland! My home is Loch Lomond but I have lived in Edinburgh and it is a great city. You are correct, if you experience a problem then just ask. We don't bite like the midges do. however, you are in winter and at the moment on the East Coast so none there. Announce where you are going because we can give you local knowledge!!!
Thanks for watching and love the idea of local knowledge. Any hidden gems around Edinburgh or Loch Lomond or anywhere in Scotland? ☺️
Moved to Scotland myself from England back in September
Nice. You are probably settled in more than us anyway, having already lived in the UK. Thanks for watching ☺️
Loved watching this! Feel like I’m with you😂
We love sharing it with everyone 😊
Just found this, seems you are moving here, welcome to Scotland.
Thanks 👍 we have been here a month now and we are absolutely loving it 😊
Great video .
Cheers

Thanks for watching and the feedback 🙂
So happy for you, love you guys.
Mac n cheese pies are life 😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋
I agree. My sister came over from Australia for a visit and I bought her one. She also loved it.
Spent a wonderful year living in Edinburgh. You are going to enjoy it!
We've been here as residents for about 1 1/2 months now and are loving it. So many things to do and see 😀
Welcome.
Swimming in cold water. Get a wetsuit. Stimulates the immune system.
We love chill swims, or at least Jack does 😆 have to get back to doing them
Congratulations with a decent go on pronouncing Edinburgh correctly.
Thanks 😊 we did practice a few times, ha ha 😉
Nice to see you in Edinburgh, my Misses and i went down Waverley Steps in 1964 and finished up at Clontarf Beach Qld been here since. Miss my homeland for sure.
Yeah, take Erin's off and put edin on and you'll be pretty close😅
Do you really need a shoe rack? 😂
Yes and a coat, hat and glove rack!
Welcome home.

We are getting that a lot. Sometimes, you just need to try something different.
The number of animals/birds/insects/snakes/fish etc. in Scotland that can kill you is significantly lower than in Australia...
