great review! Im glad i found your channel. Its nice you disclose your wrist size as I am in the 6.5" arena as well. However, are u certain about this lug to lug measurement? im looking at the sla051 and 049 and I have found all conflicting lug to lug data. Im finding 49.3 and 48.7 ish which is it? thanks.
As always another awesome video on a fantastic Seiko . Chris I’m wearing my Seiko Antarctica Monster with penguin 🐧 footprints 👣 you sold me in February. Chris very much loving this watch and the new 2022 Save the Ocean Antarctica Monster with blue dial as well 😀👍🏻
Hi, thank you! It is most likely the same proprietary hard coating used on both which Seiko doesn't disclose the details of unforutnately. I have one of these in stock if you are interested!
Hey Chris thanks for another good review. Curious just how scratch resistant (or vickers scale hardness) is this seiko pvd. I'm wearing a Sinn 856 S UTC black tegimented (so I like a good black watch but know there aren't many out there). Regarding the Oris upcycle it's a neat idea but my fav aquis is the relief (bought from you) and the red wine (future buy?).
Hi CJ, I unfortunately don't have the numbers on the Seiko coating since they just refer to it as a "Hard coating". From experience, I've never seen a damaged one thus far though.
I'm liking these Black series pieces. If I had to select one i would go with the Willard SPB257. The orange minute hand and accented bezel catches my attention. Wearing the anniversary Green dial SPB207.
Nice looking watch, I like the one black diver I have, a Citizen EcoDrive. The second strap is a plus. I’ll be wearing my Oris Aquis today, so a diver, but opposite direction! I liked last weeks video. I think the face of the ‘trash’ Oris looks much better than it photographs, so maybe people just don’t click.
Good review on this one, Chris. Wearing a Deep Blue Alpha Marine 500 today to do some chores around the house and work on the pool. The Night Diver is not speaking to me and I think I'd go for a standard green Williard over the blacked-out one you showcase here for less than 1/2 the price, understanding of course, it's a different animal. For the 3K, I'd go Marinemaster all day long over this one. Still, a watch that will probably get some attention. Best, -YZ
@@Littletreasury I absolutely saw that one, thanks. I think I prefer the hand designs better on the LX line better than the GS divers, but it's pretty much GG money, thus the dilemma. Plus, there's a tiny chance I might even be able to get a sub at retail one day soon, so, there's that in the mix...
Not exactly. These two types are similar in profile, but their composition makes them different. PVD uses a vapor process to coat products; its chemical makeup consists of titanium nitrate. While DLC is also a vapor, it uses blasted carbon for the coating material. DLC has the upper hand in creating a more robust surface finish.

Thank you Joe! Glad you are loving your Monsters!!
Hello sir, excellent video. One question, is the coating the same material used on the affordable ones that it was released with?

I have the Oris Upcycle. It’s unique and underrated. Nice job and keep showing us a variety of pieces!
Thank you for the feedback! Will keep up the variety!
@@Littletreasury Chris when do u guys expect to carry the new Seiko Black Series?

Well come on in, I have all 4 in stock! ;)
I watched your Oris Aquis up cycle video, liked it
Thanks Dan! I appreciate the feedback, and like the watch too -- so was a bit perplexed as to why it hasn't had much attention lol.

Thanks for the feedback on the Oris video -- I agree!

Thanks for the input, and great choice for a do the chores watch!
I returned the Willard. Too tiny. Hoping the SLA061 feels like a 44mm? I will be sad If it’s not the size of a regular king turtle.
Is the black finish durable? Looks fantastic, I’d be worried about it scuffing and not ageing well.
Very durable, all though they don't tell us if it is DLC or PVD, it is a proprietary coating.
Cool watch!
Cool indeed!
Could you please review the LX line?
Sure, however I just did the SNR051 a few weeks back. Did you see it? ruclips.net/video/SNYIRdCkgPU/видео.html

2:33 PVD is used to put DLC on watches, for fucks sake

Oris dosent interest me.
Thanks for sharing!
Wait.... how much !?!?!?! Hahaha get fcked. It’s a basic watch with a premium price. WAY , WAY TOO MUCH.
Oh my!!!
