The flax spinning, and making the eye hole in the antler piece made me realize how they came up with needles and thread as well as hunting. Lovely fish, and here's me making supper, 😂😭. Oh well, pork chops are also nice. 😑

I tried to remove a billet from an elk antler not too long ago, using flint flakes. I made it about 18 seconds before I realized the enormous task it would be to complete. Hours upon hours. I decided to table that project for another day… or week… or month.
    Baby steps.

Just watched a youg chap frying stuff with a modified 2kw tower mounted lazer in his woodland property, this was the perfect antidote!
Having scratched about with bits of flint, fiber and antler in the past I can really appreciate the hours spent and the skill involved, wonderful stuff Will.
Hope that pike didn't taste too muddy 😁

Long ago I heard that creating cordage was a womans job amongst the natives of Australia. De reason they gave was that women had smooth upper legs so no hairs would be pulled out.
Not sure how correct this information was back then but it does make sense. A man's naked leg is far to hairy to "rub' a piece of string on. So this would also have been the case for European stone age people I would think.

Coarse fish would have been really important as a source of protein in ancient times. East Anglia hadn’t been drained and it was teeming with fish…..I wonder how early it was when Britons fished with artificial flies…in the meantime that harpoon-arrow is deadly.🎣
