Nope, George lucas confirmed that Anakin IS the chosen one. He always was. Him joining the dark side to eliminate the Jedi created the great imbalance. But once returned to the light because of his son, he destroyed the Sith (himself and Palpatine) and this finally fulfilling the prophecy

I mean trying to save padme from death (even tho it wasn’t real since they were only visions but it’s not his fault that he got those visions) was also for the greater good because if padme died he knew he would inevitably turn to the dark side because of the grief.
