Pom-Poms are great, aren't they? I nearly cried when I got halfway there and running out of pom-poms, so glad I carried on though! Thanks for commenting and subscribing, it's great to connect! 😊 X
Because I have made knitted and crocheted slippers for kids, I found using slip-proof shelf lining (available at most stores that carry household products) works just as well as the slip-proof flooring material.
So glad you are enjoying the DIYs! I love how this turned out, and it still has pride of place in my room. Hopefully, you like the new videos coming up! Thanks for watching 😊 xoxo
Oh, I love a good pom-pom, the fluffier the better. There are so many other ways to make a pom-pom too... I've seen empty toilet roll tubes, forks and hands! Thanks so much for commenting and glad you liked the DIY! 😊
Aimsy's Antics I really miss my art and my crafts. I used to make things aaaaallll the time when I was in college and internships! You make it look so fun and make me want to make tangible things again!
Yes, lots of pom-pom making! I didn't realise how long it would take until trying to put it al together. Glad you like it and thanks for watching! xoxo
I bet it looks amazing! You can't beat a good pom-pom craft, can you? Glad this could be of inspiration to you! Thanks for watching and commenting :) xoxo
I hope it turns out how you want it! Glad this has been of some inspiration...making all the pom-poms will keep you busy haha. Just a tip, make sure the pom poms are tied tightly as some of mine have begun shedding the wool! Thanks for watching xoxo
I'd love to try and .are,a pom pom mat ...it might not be good Arthrtris but I'd love to try thank you ever so much for showing me how to make them thanks again
There are a few tricks with making the pom-poms in batch that might make it easier on the arthritis. Hope you are able to have a go at making, and it turns out how you want it to! Thanks for watching and glad it gave you inspiration! xoxo
I'm acutally thinking of making a "rug" for my son's room. He put his bed on the floor underneath his loft bed, so I was thinking of making him a rug to go on the top where his bed is supposed to be. Something for him to crawl/lay on, and this seems like it could definitely work
Good luck with making your own! Just to warn you the rug can be a bit bumpy underfoot, but I think it depends how you tie the pom-poms to secure them. xoxo
Glad you like it! You can spot clean it with a damp cloth, however it is very hard to clean. The best bet is to create new pom-poms and replace them. Be careful is vacumming as well, as the pom-poms can become unattached. xoxo
I was planning to make a rug. I wasn’t sure what to buy to tie it to. I found your video after I went shopping. Do you think latch hook canvas would be ok to use? Thanks for your advice.
Sorry I didn't reply sooner. Yes, I reckon the latch hook one will be fine to use, it will probably help it go a lot smoother. Hope you have fun creating yours! Xoxo
A pom-pomm double bed blanket sounds interesting! Do you mean a full pom-pom, like the rug or a blanket with a few pom-poms? This rug is pretty heavy, so i'm not sure what a full blanket would be like, but can always look into it! Glad you are enjoying the videos and hopefully they are inspiring your creativity! Thanks for watching xoxo
You would have to spot-clean it rather than place it in a machine. The pom poms are easy enough to remove and add new ones. I would be careful vacuuming it too as the pom poms can come loose! Hope that helps 😊
Glad you like it, I love the colours together! I think spot wiping would be ok, however, I wouldn't advise putting into a washing machine. The pom-poms will more than likely become unattached, and take a long time to dry. I would advise replacing some of the pom-poms as needed. xoxo

If some of the pom-poms become too disgusting, the best thing is to replace it with a new one. On hindsight and with use, it is quite time consuming and slightly impractical! Hope that helps :)
Awesome, lovely rug! 🥰I'd love to make a pom pom rug too. Is there any material that you use for covering the backside of the rug or just the mat? I'd like to make as a gift and i'm thinking it will be more heavy-duty and stronger maybe. 💪 Do you have any advice? Thanks for ideas and videos! ❤️
Glad you like it! I have it as just the mat with the tied bits of wool. I guess you could use felt and stick it to the underside, however it may make the rug slippy on a hard floor. I think I did them approximately 2-3 holes apart, however, it did depend on the size of the pom-pom and how much one covered. I tried to place them so that the pom-pom touched. If they are too close together, the pom-poms tend to curl under the edge of the rug because they are too bunched, if that makes sense? Don't know if that helps? xoxo

So pretty! Maybe someone asked this already, but what are the dimensions of your rug? I want to get an idea of how much yarn I will need to make an area rug that is 5 feet by 8 feet.
Glad you like it. I think it is roughly 40cm wide by 95cm long and I used approximatley 200 pom-poms to make it. My guess is you are going to need a lot of yarn for a rug that size! Hope that helps, and the rug making goes well! xoxo

Aww thank you! If you can set the hoover on a low setting then you might be able to. I found that the hoover sucked the pom poms off the mat when it was too powerful. You can turn it upside down and pat any debris out, then hoover that, which might be easier/ less risky of losing pom poms haha! Hope you have fun making yours! Xoxo
I think I used about 15 skeins of wool in total but had some leftovers. I couldn't tell you the weight of the wool exactly, but they were not thin or over-chunky! Don't know if that helps or not! 😊
Glad you like it! I didn't measure it out when making, however I have just measured it and it is roughly 40cmX 95cms. It took roughly 200 pom-poms to make, however you may be able to use slightly less. The pom-poms on the edge tend to curl under and have to be straightened out when moving the rug. Hope this helps! Aimsy xoxo
I haven't tried to dry clean it. My advice would be to gently surface clean it, but if that doesn't get it clean enough, the pom-poms can be removed and replaced. xoxo
Hello, sorry I didn't see your comment. I am not sure what the grams of the wool is, sorry! I used a variety of thickness for the rug. The grey fluffy wool, I wouldn't recommend, as although it is really soft, it sheds quite a lot and I have lora a few of those pom-poms. Not sure if that helps xoxo
The pom-poms were made with the second largest pom-pom maker in this set - www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07MF74SPM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 whcih I think is the 6.8cm maker. Hope that helps? xoxo
I made the pom-poms over a few days/evenings and then putting the actual rug together took a few hours. I would recommend breaking the project up, because making this amount of pom-poms can make your hand sore, especially using the scissor repeatedly to trim and cut them.
I am not quite sure how many rolls I used, but I need about 200 pom-poms for this rug. I would say you need quite a few rolls to make this many pom-poms. The thickness of the wool impacted on making the pom-poms, as you will use more of the thinner wool to make the same size pom-poms as thicker wool, if that makes sense? Hope that helps! xoxo
I can't remember exactly, but about 3 rolls per colour, but some may have used 4. I used some yarn that wasn't a full roll and others were brand new. Not sure if that helps? I would recommend buying more than you think you need, as the pom-poms do take more will than you may originally think. xoxo
I would advise using a damp cloth to clean any surface dirt. You can replace the pom-poms if they become damaged or soiled, but a full soaking to wash would probably ruin it. Tip it upside down and tap on the back to release any debris too., use a vaccum at your own caution though. These tend to bring the pom-poms off the rug and will get stuck in the vaccum. Hope that helps?! xoxo
Let me know what you think of this DIY. What colours would you use?

where do i buy the backing im in west yorkshire x
I bought mine in b&m or home bargains. Hope you can find one! Xoxo
I might have a solution for the pom-poms falling out. Just dap a little bit of glue on the knot. That way, you can cut the tails at the knot.
That is a great idea, I didn't think of that! Thanks for the tip, will have to give it a try! xoxo
Be blessed guy
Wow this is colorful.
Is it washable?

Lovely work 💯❤
Can somebody do a "pompom" word count? 🤣
Where can I buy the rugs? Thank you 😊
How do you clean it though
With difficulty!
This makes me want to go barefoot and walk on the very fluffy rug 🤤
Oh it feels lovely underfoot. Just make sure the pom-poms are tied tightly, as the more wear the higher chance of the pom-poms shedding and coming undone! xoxo

Hi I'm in South Africa I'm suffering of getting the non slip grip mat material what advance you can give me to get it

How is that thing called on which I have tied on the pompoms, I mean dat long white thing long thing
How do you clean it...can it be washed?
With difficulty! You can do the old fashioned way of batting debris out and using a damp cloth to spot clean; however you wouldn't be able to soak it in a tub or machine.

You can go to the dollar tree and get a pom pom maker for a $1.25

I bought the mat from one of the cheaper shops in the UK (home bargains /B&M). You could try any of the bargain shops, or amazon for them. Hope that helps! xoxo
I found it easier using my hands making my pom poms
I've not tried making them with my hands before. I will have to try this method out! 😊
How do you make them with your hands? Sounds more like my speed lol

I know this video is from a while ago but if you see this I was wondering what type of nonslip mat you used
