I don't think you've ever done a re-cap for all the kickstarters you funded and/or actually got released. Maybe the ones that you got the most for your "donation" vs. ones that you felt most swindled by?
In the sims 3 you can get specific jobs that are not rabbit holes, like an architect or someone who works in home design and you actually go to each location and have to do all the things required. It's a little basic, but there is enough to do that if you really want a more hands on experience for work, that is the way to do it. Pays less money for more work on your part though.
One thing about moddability is that it doesn't just take the game being moddable, it takes people wanting to mod it. Open-ended games are ideal for modding, while story-driven titles often have nothing for modders to really work with. There's exceptions, like Doom or Trackmania, where it's about making levels, but the big modding titles like The Sims, The Elder Scrolls, Minecraft, Terraria, etc. all share the same "You're playing the game anyway, what about if you made it different?"
I'm definitely keeping an eye on to pixalia as well, plans to release on pc first but also switch and consoles, looks like it could be a great switch game to pick up in future if it turns out okay.
I would be curious to see Kira go through the tabletop gaming side of Kickstarter. Games that are largely delivered. Tons of money and oh so much drama as companies have been busted running basically like Ponzi schemes(things do generally deliver as long as the next campaign brings in enough) for years.
Only game I ever backed development for in my life was Carmageddon: Max Damage. No regrets there... Still play it at least a few times a week. EDIT - Wasn't done watching yet... cheers for furiously masturbating to Golden Axe.
Generally these are known studios or they are known developers from previous games joining to make something. Most of the failures have been dreamworld type idiots who sell big and have zero experience.
I've had Endzone 1 for a while now, it was in the monthly Humble pack earlier this year. Haven't tried it yet, maybe I should. I do like colony sims and well-made postapocalypse 🤔
I could have sworn there was an indie game in that style..if I find it in my steam profile, I'll add the name here. -Savage: the Shard of Gosen is the name -actually I just saw another that looks more like the original: Abathor - Atlantis Landing, but hadn't played it much.
Some kickstarters that I have pledged to have failed and some have been successful. I haven't pledged to a kickstarter for sometime now but I ain't really watching out for stuff anymore.
Was an alright look since I haven't been to KS in forever, but the Gamer Supps were the only thing that stuck in my mind, honestly. 😂 The interviews especially were a snooze fest.
You will probably not see this, but here we go: Will you ever unprivate your past videos? Stuff like most of the Cryptoland videos, some Earth2 and Elyria videos. I guess you privated them because of all the false DMCA takedown requests, but surely the storm clouds will pass one day, right? I like listening to those older sagas from start to finish occasionally. :)
Was about to try the Sample Pack. Well, shipping Costs Money and as i am Not yet a customer i am Not willing to pay them for the Opportunity to maybe make me one of their customers. I sonst think letting customers pay For test packages is shady or anything, i Just think thats a Bad Business decision
A lot of good ones. To Pixelia looks the most promising, but we'll see. TBH, love the Sims games... but I refuse to support EA after all the shit they pulled.
You guys are both conflating things said at different times about different things lmao. I'm sponsored by a company exactly when I say I'm sponsored, for that one time in history until its over. And I don't earn a penny if people spend money on something jnless I say so. Sponsorships are almost always a payment agreed upon for views or just making thr ad and not on who buys stuff. An affiliate is based on people buying stuff anf usually no ip front or guaranteed payment. I'm not mentioning raid to make money, nor is that free advertising. Its a joke. Please.
The challenge of adding moddability is that the developer should own the engine, or use open source tech. If the game is developed in Unity or Unreal to cut development time, you will run into all sorts of licensing problems later.
Pixel art games aren't timeless! Quite set in time, but sometimes they do some amazing things, with lighting or effects, that's out of the pixel style. That does set it both back in time, but also in mordern time. Also Pixelia, doesn't seem to be multiplayer or coop in any way. I'm not in then.
I don't think you've ever done a re-cap for all the kickstarters you funded and/or actually got released. Maybe the ones that you got the most for your "donation" vs. ones that you felt most swindled by?
This
Kira and Kickstarter? Monday is not as bad as it was five minutes ago.
definitely a better place with this video
"not financial advice, not a financial advisor" LMAO
I said this to a customer at my job today.
Where is that guy?
Hello Friendos!
Hello friendo!
Ok, see you next time, peace.

Sims 3 book authors can make a ton of money. It almost feels like cheating once you get your skill up a bit. Constant royalties coming in.
I don't consider work at home jobs to count toward what i was talking about @@LouieNJ
I might be wrong, but I have a feeling that ultrawide, curved monitors, should not be stored like that.
How else would you store something of that shape?
You might be wrong. You're probably wrong, why are you so wrong ALL the time ?? Stop being wrong !

Played Endzone 1 for a few hours, so it's cool to see a sequel. Definitely a good banished-type game.
I'm definitely keeping an eye on to pixalia as well, plans to release on pc first but also switch and consoles, looks like it could be a great switch game to pick up in future if it turns out okay.
no idea why i stopped watching you, your commentary is still hilarious

Sorry Kira, I only consume drinks via my other end, oh well!
Weren't Pillars of Eternity, Divinity Original Sin and DOS2 all Kickstarted ?
Larian had made games before, though, so they were a known quantity who had produced successful works already.
Generally these are known studios or they are known developers from previous games joining to make something. Most of the failures have been dreamworld type idiots who sell big and have zero experience.
I appreciate how genuine you come across in these videos 🖖
Kickstarter game browsing and updates on Caspian in Wonderland: my two favorites, friendos!
Kira can you do an update video on all the games you put money in to via kickstarter and other services
Also, Steam Next Fest is happening now.
Lots of demos to try.
My friendo self is ready ❤
Nein! NEIN! Ich bin kein Pelz!
I've had Endzone 1 for a while now, it was in the monthly Humble pack earlier this year. Haven't tried it yet, maybe I should. I do like colony sims and well-made postapocalypse 🤔
I, too, would be down for a new Golden Axe styled beat'em up.
I could have sworn there was an indie game in that style..if I find it in my steam profile, I'll add the name here.

Dude, you've been able to physically do jobs in Sims 4 for years now. ;)
I enjoy the kickstarter adventures, keep them coming 😊
😊
Some kickstarters that I have pledged to have failed and some have been successful. I haven't pledged to a kickstarter for sometime now but I ain't really watching out for stuff anymore.
6:13 Simulation stuff that is very open-ended... hmmm... How about doing a Factorio stream or series? Maybe even with Krastorio2...
First game looks awesome as a universe and concept, but my god the execution is 1st year game student. (and not in the charming way).
“Can ya do OnlyFans?”
Kira, brother…🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Okay lucid looks pretty sick.

Wow, crazy stuff
Is that a monitor in the back?
Drink i can consume through my mouth?! SIGN ME UP, i’ve had it with rectal juicing!
Making a game moddable is actually quite difficult because it directly affects how you fundamentally design the game's architecture.
love the kickstar reviews
Did you ever do a doco on Untamed Isles (the crypto scam game on kickstarter a while ago)
gonna go on a fast now
Reyt nice kitchen. Ah not heard that in a while.
I wish you had done this when the ratatan kickstarter was active.

Wasn't Albion a kickstarter game? I would rank it up there, especially since it's done something no other kickstarter MMORPG has done.. Existing..
Nope, albion was never on ks
Once, I heard you say furry Germans 😆
What up friendo.

Are any of us watchers of Kira "normal"? 🤔
If you are not sponored by RSL, why are you mentioning them? It's free publicity. At least get paid!
If I understand correctly, he gets money, if you buy, but not in general
You guys are both conflating things said at different times about different things lmao.

UE4 is open source (for some definition of open source)

I'm not giving money to a guy with such a nice kitchen. Need money? Sell your kitchen.
