Rachel is one of those rare humans who has been blessed with brains, talent, likeability and beauty. She is very talented, articulate, but she has a truly nice demenour about her and keeps her life private despite being married to Daniel Craig and seems grounded and not at all looking to thrive off being complimented to boost her self-esteem. This tv show looks intriguing and I will give it a viewing.

I was thinking the same, but then I remembered that one was dead for the bulk of the film, and she didn't play them interacting with each other (aside from one looking at the other's dead body), so she prolly doesn't count it. 🤷

That show is AMAZING. Episode two is absolutely appallingly hilarious; and Rachel Weisz is god damned incredible. And holy crap Jennifer Ehle is a monster (and amazing). Whoever wrote this is a genius.

I saw dead ringers at a otherwise completely failed new years eve in Switzerland, very happy to have swapped a miserable night out for a night with Jeremy Irons, but like Stephen said, it haunted me for days. The _clinical_ tools were so haunting and so well made, and Jeremy Irons played it so well, you felt in your gut this deranged doctor was convinced these tools were brilliant and dead set at using them. To see his twin brother go down with him, failing to pull him out of this madness but rather himself get trapped in this self induced psychosis must be one of the most claustrophobic movie experiences I have ever witnessed!
If anyone can pull this remake of sorts off, it is her, Rachel Weisz. Love her, her voice, her eyes, her face, her hair, her acting chops, God I hate Daniel Craig! ;-)

Actually, Rachel has played twins before, in "Constantine", but they didn't share a scene, so the dynamics were a bit different from "Dead Ringers".

Rachel Weiss « kinda » already played twins in Constantine with Keanu Reeves, in which she has a twin sister who committed suicide, and she’s actually have a couple of appearances as her twin sister in the movie.
I know a co-dependent circle that acts trapped together.
I do love the dedication and talent that goes into a single person playing a pair of twins. But we do have real twins in the world. I'm surprised that more twin-themed projects do not cast actual twins. There have been some, but not as many. I know, the prestige thing of using a famous and name-recognized actor in the starring role; that's a big draw. But I'm still surprised. I'm sure Rachel is great in it; she's a phenomenal actress. But surely it would be a big time and money saver to have both people on set at the same time?
There is a certain almost subconscious feeling we as audience members get when we know it's twins, vs when it's an actor doubling themselves. Twins are just sibling actors. The Olsen Twins, Tia and Tamera Mowry, etc. A single actor playing twins is more doppelgänger-like, more unsettling, less natural.
I myself am not a twin. I'm curious to know how twins feel about the phenomenon.

speaking as an identical twin it's a doudled-edged sword. People( mainly FAMILY and in high school) are convinced we're 1 PERSON. If I speak they assume she's thinking feeling the EXACT SAME and vice versa. NO we NEVER did the school prank swapping out. I'm not her and she is not me. She was born after me 5lbs and I born first 4lbs.... We married and divorced different men she has 1 child a boy I had 2 a girl first then a boy. We are not the same we just had the curse/blessing(?) of being born simultanelously being concieved and delievered.
