Los Santos County Police Because it was a Super K-mart, not to be confused with Big K-Mart. Super K-Mart sold Produce, Meats had auto shops and food courts, not a snack bar.
The Q-Sound intros, besides the original Capcom intros from like Street Fighter 2 and games in that era, were the greatest sound bites ever. Like, even to this day hearing them just gives me a lingering sense of nostalgia that I might never get anywhere else.
I remember walking thru the arcades and hearing this randomly going off in different parts of the arcade. Gives me goosebumps hearing this. 90' was a great fucking time for arcades.
Those were the days. Can never catch that feeling ever again. Today's kids will never know the feelin of walking thru a good arcade with good games you couldn't get on your console (back then at least).
I'll explain this as best as I can, because I'm sort of understand these "spooky" thingy... The composition of these jingles are considered to be "spooky" in common use of BGMs. The combination of jazz chord progressions and the unresolved chords with a different bassline/arps (EX: Asus6 bass E or Asus6/E) are known to give a spooky atmosphere.. Dissonance as one of the limitation of the sound chips just adds to the overall atmosphere. For example popping noises when the instrument reached a loop point and decays, the reverb, or even the hardware generated chorus effect. ESPECIALLY THE ONES FROM VAMPIRE SAVIOR! ONE OF THE BEST INSTRUMENT DESIGN, BUT THAT QSOUND JINGLE IS LEGIT SCARY TO BE HEARD IN THE DARK! :'((((((( But I have to admit... in 1980~1990, for being able to produce a sound quite like this is totally an achievement for its time! My life as a music producer won't be the same if it's not because of retro game's sound design. (Let me know, if I've used a wrong use of grammar)
This brings me back so much memories of the 2 local arcades, which sadly, both of them closed down, the first one in 2006 and the second one in 2020 due to COVID-19. I would hear this noise in different parts of the arcade. I miss the good ol days man
So basically - it's a midi file for Qsound that was played back using that particular game's soundfont... That explains why some of these sound so terrible and others sound decent.
Whenever you heard this sound, that's how you know you're about to play a really great game from Capcom. It's such a shame the company doesn't make games like this anymore. Street Fighter Alpha, Alien vs Predator, Marvel Super Heroes, Pocket Fighter, X-Men vs Street Fighter, Children of the Atom, Cyberbots, Darkstalkers, Jojo's Bizzare Adventure, Rival Schools, Street Fighter EX and so much more man. They don't make these like they used to anymore.
+DraculaXHunter101 Yeah, its a sound that always takes me back to the arcades.. Likewise stuff like Dhaslim's elephants roaring, the Neo Geo intro, Mad Dog MCree, that Sega Time Traveller "Hologram" game and a Daytona machine or four blaring away! "Daytooonaaa!!"!
I remembered when I lived in New York there used to be this candy store downstairs in front of my apartment that had the X-Men vs street fighter cabinet and one of the cruis'n games. Me and the kids in the block used to spend hours just dumping quarters into that game. Hearing these jingles just takes me back so nostalgic.
This and the Neo Geo logo theme were the kings of the dimly lit arcade sound In the 90’s, hearing these going off somewhere in the arcade as soon as you walked through the doors!
These Jingles bring back great memories, I'm totally making this my text message tone. Thanks alot. Glad I'm not the only one who gets so nostalgic for the CPS-2.
Theshark15z same here and this isn't fair at all that all the cool games have been removed on the arcade cabinets but however it's not a total loss I'm sure there are somewhere around those cool places under the hood
This video takes me back. I loved this era of video game sound. I think the link with all the jingles went down. I used them as my text tone like in 2010.
All we need is a Street Fighter 6 Arcade cabinet with this jingle to showcase their pedigree in terms of developing spatial audio to both immerse the sighted and to assist the blinded.
The armored warriors or “ powerd gears “ q sound fits the marvel vs street fighter, marvel vs capcom , street fighter vs X-men series more then the others , it always had that dark hero battle vibe to me , makes u imagine wolverine standing in the rain while it’s thundering at night ready to face Ryu
wow this is so awesome i love capcom when it comes to games, intros, characters, and gameplay you know capcom comes in 1st so awesome love all these intros ^_^
The Marvel Vs. Capcom one sounds the best but I also love how that Capcom Sports Club one sounds completely flat besides the really cool sounding deep sub bass notes you can only feel if your listening on more powerful speakers.
Wow you actually compiled these together or you managed to find them all? nice man..I to enjoyed these right when a game was about to start. Mostly the Street Fighter Alpha series.
Just to let those who want this as a ringtone or just to download. These tracks are 6 to 9 seconds long. When I upload them. They will be in single tracks. Not one whole big track.
I use the Street Fighter Alpha 2 Q Sound intro as my text message/twitter notification sound. I actually sampled three of these for a simple beat I made. Thanks for putting up this vid, man. Got so much use out of it. lol
Cool. Thumbs up for you. I only put Megaman: The Power Battle, because its the same jingle as part 2. My favorite is Vampire Savior. It has that eerie aaahhh like in the game tracks.
Theres been this trend in the last couple of years where everyone tries to associate a sound or song with being scary. How are any of these scary? Hearing this makes me so happy that I'd probably cry. So many memories at once

The smell of laundry odor when hearing the q sounds whats was AWESOME!!
+PachinkoSam Are you from New York City too?
+Regula Gianci Nah we had arcade machines in laundromats here in DC and Maryland too.
+PachinkoSam Or the smell of Chinese food/Pizza/burgers coming from the food court in the Super K-Mart. :)

this is oddly very depressing and nostalgic

depressing because it reminds me of greater times in my life

The x men intro for the 6 player. That loud sound. Was the sound

sad, but true. But I would like to hear it start up a Capcom game, one last time, for old times' sake.

Capcom updated the classic "Capcom sound" as a piano for Devil May Cry's start screen. So I could totally imagine a new version of the Q Sound
1- Marvel Vs Capcom
2- Vampire Savior
3- SF Alpha
This with the lady saying "capcom presents" in marvel vs Capcom is pure nostalgia overdrive for me.
