Zeus literally was the one who brought order and justice to the realm of Hades but go off I guess. Hades was so responsible that he had no clue about how to ensure that the dead ended up in their deserved afterlife and went to complain to his baby brother who instantly figured out what the problem was and found a solution. Hades was so responsible that he didn't move a finger when Thanatos was captured and people stopped dying.

Zeus bring order and justice? Are you reading wrong stories? Literally nearly all the Greek myths are about how Zeus can't keep his pants up. And if I remember correctly then in a myth Zeus had punished a guy who impersonated him by burning down a WHOLE village. That's justice for you? And how many myths we have seen spirits wandering on mortal plane? I can count it on my one hand. And sure, Hades has to be abandoned his realm which is totally in chaos to finding Thantatos right? fun facts about underworlds
    1. according to egyptian mythology Osiris was the first mummy.
    2. the "underworld" of celtic mythology was an island , it was accessible by living beings but the journey was too dangerous for them.(yeah you guessed right , "undying lands" in lord of the rings was inspired by this)
    3. in sumerian underworld there was no "judgement" in underworld only eternal darkness and silence , sinner or innocent , this version of the underworld symbolizes how insignificant humans were to gods.

    • @vanmars5718
      @vanmars5718 4 года назад +26

In Greek mythology there were several places a dead soul could go (depending of your life). One of those places was The island of the blessed...a magical land, paradise like, in the West across the big ocean...in this land only heroes or people who had done tons of good deeds could access. And yes, later on as civilization proceeded Greeks tried to point out were this land is and how can someone go there.
So it's rather a common narrative of the European civilizations to put a magical paradise like place in the West across the ocean, which is interesting 🤔

The God of death in Hindu mythology is an epitome of Knowledge. He is the guru who teaches the Upanishad known as Kadopanishad to a young seeker of knowledge named Nachiketas. Kadopanishad is one of the principal Upanishads dealing with Vedanta or the philosophy of non-duality.
His name is Yama implying control of senses, a quality mentioned in the Yoga Sutras as an essential quality of a yogi. His other name is Dharma deva meaning God of righteousness.
    Why wasn't he included here?

Calling Yama a fictional character to a Hindu is same as calling Jesus and Mohammad fictional characters to Christians and Muslims. 3:10 Loki and Angboda are Hel parents, who may seem less monstrous, but is certainly more sinister. It is said that half of her body was that of a beautiful woman, and the other half was that of a corpse. Odin decided that she was well suited to rule over the land of the dead, the place where Vikings who did not die bravely on the battlefield went.
she was given jurisdiction over this realm Helheim in her name.
When the apocalypse comes, it is said that she will sail to Asgard alongside Loki and at the head of an army of the dishonourable dead, and join the other children of Loki on the battle against the Aesir gods, perhaps seeking vengeance for their monstrous treatment of her family.

This is a point I've been trying to say, Every region has it's religion and beliefs. Your soul came from a certain pantheon and when you die you will go back to that pantheon where your soul family is. I went searching for legit mystics years ago and from listening into conversations and asking questions that's what I concluded. It's only my opinion. I found out what pantheon I belong to and spoke to my soul father. I asked, "Am I being punished? This place sucks." He replied, "I don't expect you to understand.". Then goddess from a different pantheon stepped in and said, "You're here for a reason.". I asked, "You guys knew who I was all this time and you didn't tell me? Why?". Then another deity stepped forward and he said, "It's more gratifying when you find out who you are rather than someone else telling you.". The goddess then said, "Clues are all around you... your name, birthday are all on purpose. You just need to open your eyes.". I know it sounds ridiculous but I couldn't make this up even if I wanted to.
I don't want to go into detail on what was said but that experience changed my whole perception on things. If you're searching like I did it's your soul guiding you to dig deep.

it's kinda ironic that hades, the god of the underworld, is actually the sanest and probably the most reasonable of the greek gods. Zeus and Hera were both colossal jerks, Poseidon literally harassed a man for a decade, and demeter nearly let the world die from her empty nest syndrome (partially hade's fault though, he did take persphone as a bride, but he was still reasonable)

Persephone is the Actual goddess of the underworld, who predates Hades possibly as far back as when humanity was still largely centered in the fertile crescent.

(Most) Norse Pagans: HEY! Don’t talk about our Mother Death like that😡
🤣 On a serious note: Hel (Or Hela) is a very nurturing Goddess. She cares for the dead a great deal, and it’s one of the reasons the Allfather Odin gifted her Helheim. Today she’s considered a very common Goddess to worship and work with.
