Great review that helped me make my decision on what bike to buy. have just ordered a KTM 390 Duke and now wiating for it to be delivered! Havent ridden a bike for 20 years. Cant wait to get back on the road on two wheels.
I took delivery of one of these last week. I was worried as I did my test on a 600 this might bore me, but im delighted I went for this. Cant wait till after the first service to rev it properly. If ur looking for a 1st bike its spot on.
+Bohemoth excellent. I certainly loved riding this one and like you thought it would be boring but it was the total opposite. Loved it :)
Starting my lessons next week, was wondering how a 300 would fee after a 600 as the 390 seems like the bike ill be going for as a first bike
Hey mate. Great that your starting your lessons :)
The 300 May seem underpowered compared to the 600 you mentioned but I’d certainly try it out as it’s an ideal first bike and is great fun too.
Good luck with your lessons and test and ride safe :)
The tail plate holder is that long because of laws in some countries that require it to extend behind the rear wheel
+Daedalus1632 cool. Thanks for the info matey. That makes sense, just doesn't look that good :)
I love your review about KTM Duke 390, I'm planning to have this bike this year.
Thanks for the kind words mate. You’ll love the 390. It’s awesome fun ;)
Those KTM dashes are excellent. Good review team RCTV. 👍🏻
+DervMan agreed. Thanks for the kind words :)
i bought one this week.. in india we get hand guards,,mud guard,,rear suspension cover as standard..
bike is great by the way..
+PRASHANTH wish they did that over here in the U.K. Great bike my friend. Ride safe :)
PRASHANTH also a saree guard 😅
@@RiderCamTV You wouldn't want the crap they have to have on their bikes in India if you knew what he was talking about.
ABS defaults on road mode (both wheels), also can be switched off completely and the TFT warns about illegality ;) , but try the supermoto mode (Front wheel ABS whilst rear is on manual and nicely progressive). Oh and Duke 390 TFT has bluetooth.
+Vykier cool, thanks for the info :)
This is an amazing bike for sure mate
+Phantom Rides I loved it :)
Nice review! I just got mine last thursday. So beautifull and fun bike!
+MisterKatoche excellent. It's certainly a great bike. Have fun and ride safe :)
hey man great review it was,
can you please review the Rc 390 2017 also.
+samarth dobhal might be able to soon :)
Thanks for the kinds words
Great review! Complete and not talking like a salesman.
I've been looking to buy this bike in the near future and only sat on it at the dealer so far. I'm about 6'1" / 186cm and do fit well, but it did seem the pegs are rather high and there's not a lot of moving space on the seat compared to the 690. I'd probably get used to it, but plan on keeping the bike a while (3-4 years with the extended warranty) and ride it frequently (decent weather commutes and some weekend trips). As I'm just 27 and a cyclist too, comfort is unknown to me (what you never had, you won't miss).
You seem about the same height, what was your experience riding it?
Hey mate, great choice of bike! You can get adjusters from KTM for the pegs so would make it more comfortable for you.
Im about 5'11" and found it comfortable, and this little bike ( i say little as the engine is little - but it certainly handles well and goes well) is a joy to ride and was so much fun. Economical, fun, small, comfortable and for commuting would be a great asset. I enjoyed riding it and found it lively, fun, yet light and agile.... a great little allrounder!
Great review!!!...I hope I'll buy it someday....keep up the good work
Thanks for your kind words mate. Glad you enjoyed the vid :)
Nice video and nice bike.
I'm waiting for your G310GS review but I think I'm already decided. That GS must be a lot more fun and comfortable.
Touchscreen on a motorbike sounds like one of the dippiest ideas I can think of.
+brothersoulshine it will come I'm sure, rather than pressing buttons it would be easier and like a huge sat nav screen hahha
I like the Duke 390 as well. However there is one I am not quite sure if KTM intended to leave out is the windscreen. Perhaps it will be something available in their power parts offering. But for now I'm curious why they leave those out. They are very functional part.
+Robert P I totally agree with you mate. A windscreen I think is almost essential for rider comfort. No clue why they leave things out, perhaps to raise more money? :(
Hi RiderCam TV, I'm looking for a bit of advice. I'm wondering if the KTM 390 would suit me. I am 55 and have not been on a bike for over 5 years due to a broken Humerus which ultimately ruined my shoulder. The good news is I have had a shoulder replacement 2 weeks ago and already it seems to function well with no pain. I asked my surgeon if I could get back on a bike he said that I could in about 6 weeks but I should get a lighter bike with easy handling. I've had many bikes over the years right up to the big ones but obviously I would not be able to push them around ect....so I fancy a KTM 390. It looks ideal but there is non local to me for a look at and sit on. Is the bike easy to push around, I have to go down a car width drive in between 2 houses, so have do a 5 point turn to get it facing forward when coming out the garage. I'm 6 foot and 80kg. What do you think? does it feel well balanced and have light handling, or a good alternative? Thanks for your great reviews.
i think the numberplate holder looks faboulous in comparison to many other bikes. and the short holders aren't that nice iether
Daniel Schlegel its hideous
oysty_ compare it to the old one and say that again
Decent review! Well done
+999silverhk thanks matey :)
The 2016 model is 10kg lighter and has more character. Try it you like it. 😊
+Duke 390 not tried the 2016 model but if this one was anything to go by it's awesome
It's also a lot smaller in my experience. The engine seems to be a bit more refined and I love the new design and dash, so it'll definitely be the '17 model for me (since I'm 6'1" tall with long legs).
The new model is a big improvement.
Plez make a video on proper gear shift of 390. Plez.
We will see what we can don;)
Thnax
When I shift gear .sometimes it's make dhak like sound. Is it create any harmful effect on my bike.
It doesn’t sound that great, if it has a quick shifter on it sometimes it will clunk but I would get it checked to make sure it’s ok
RiderCamTV ok
Good video!
+Ontario Andrews thanks matey. Glad you enjoyed it :)
I'm about 5'5". I'm afraid this would be too tall for me. What do you think?
+Jose Marie dela Paz I recon it would be ok. It's not that tall at all.
they legally have to have the number plate protruding like that.
+Angus Irving oh cool. Every days a learning day. Thanks for the info :)
Hi everyone, my weight is 50 kg and my height is 170cm, can i ride this bike? I love Duke 390 so much!
+Trí Nguyễn hey mate. Yeah I'm a little taller than you but had no problems. Don't think it would be too big for you :)
Ok thank you so much! :D
+Trí Nguyễn anytime :)
Why are all the big boys making such cool small bikes?
+Mark Holroyd dunno, but so glad they are making them ;)
+Geoff Garvis I can see why. They are fab!
cash mate
A2 and A1 riders.
Too tall for 165cm rider like me. Any suggestions?
How tall are you?
Both about 5’10” ish :)
What's the fuel economy
+Nanda Gopaal I think it was saying about 60+
RiderCamTV is that 60 miles per galon
+Nanda Gopaal yep :)
how tall are you and do you sit well on it?
About 5’10 ish and yeah seating position is fine :)
thanks, recon someone who's 6' could sit good on it?
Yeah I’m sure you’d be fine. Might have to lower the foot pegs perhaps but KTM do adjustable pegs and fitments to help :)
a taller seat might also help haha
That’s very true
How much it cost out there?
+Ngaihtea Sailo about £4,500 a £5,000
isch des a englender oda a inda? xD
?
RiderCamTV it was just a Joke bro!
I cann't understand it... but the video was nice! like
+Der Rozlat lol :)
Riders Height?
+Joey G I take it your asking what my height is? 5'10
Thanks! I'm looking forward to trying one out at my local KTM dealership. The 2016 model is way too small for taller riders. I'm 5' 11" and used to big bikes such as the R1 so this is a big change for me.
+Joey G you'll love it I'm sure. Ride safe :)
How tall are you ?
+Rahul Pathak 5'11 :)
RiderCamTV
Thanks ! I'm also 5"11 so will this bike comfortable for me
+Rahul Pathak I found it really comfy when I rode it for the video. Hope you do too ;)
RiderCamTV
Many thanks for clearing my doubts :)
BTW really nice video. Informative !
+Rahul Pathak no probs mate. Thanks for the kind words. Ride safe :)
