  • I have owned this 1971 OSSA Stiletto 250 TT Scrambler for over a decade. I discovered it in a neighbor's garage where it had been sitting for years. When I found it the bike was was mostly complete but hadn't run for many many many years. I purchased it with the hope of making it a runner again someday. The first step was to perform a complete assessment of what I had and an inventory of missing parts. The engine side cover had been removed but in a box of parts. The clutch shaft was bent as were the clutch and brake levers. The original grips were long gone. Also missing were the front fender and number plate. A reproduction front fender and number plate were sourced from Airtech Fiberglass. I took all of the fiberglass parts to Jaime's Auto Customs in Toppenish Wa. for paintwork and then to Ron Pomeroy in Yakima Wa. for pin striping. I found all of the other parts needed from Alex Snoop in Monroe, NY. Alex was also a big help in explaining how to re-install and adjust the clutch shaft assembly. Everything else is in as-found condition. One other item of note is the front tire. It's a Spanish Pirelli which I assume is original to the bike. At this time the bike is tucked away for safe keeping. I only start it occasionally and when I do it's using fresh no-ethanol gas mixed with synthetic 2-stroke racing oil. After I've run it I drain all fuel from the tank, fuel lines, and carburetor and put the OSSA away for the next time.

Fiberglass looks good. That's the hard part. I had one of those and raced it on TT tracks against a BUNCH of Bultacos, which were dominant at the time.
