Watched this demo many times, finally can afford JD-XA and it arrives & few presets great but when I looked up this video again for inspiration and saw that I could download your sound bank for free! Man, man, man .... the very best synth demo ever in terms of demonstrating what it can do for sound design & playing (without any trickery). I think I read somewhere that you designed some patches for the new Fantom for Roland, that's so encouraging to hear. I've been rocking the MC-909 so hard last few years I was going to sell the banks I toiled over years to craft but you inspire me to give away since there could have been no better experience than what u gave me & others starting off their JD XA adventures.
Simply mind blowing - I had no idea the JD-XA could even approach all that. Just goes to show in the right hands...just brilliant work. Thank you for sharing!!
This is a testament to what a chameleon the JD-XA is, and such a magnificent instrument. And how well it works in the hands of a true virtuoso. Fantastic performances! Thanks for sharing.
Shows what a brilliant programmer like you can do! Bravo. Really great to see the old classics like Oxygene 2 and On the Run for your old fans who have been with your channel since the very early days...
I had this one but sold it because I could not read the labels...my old eyes were not up to it and I did not want to spend 200 dollars on the readable template offered by 3rd party. But Gattobus proves again, it is not the synth so much as the player. 99% of JDXA owners could not do one of his demo's I would venture. Gattobus understands the technologh thoroughly and is a real musician as well. Been a long time fan. Just great.
I've heard from other reviews that they've updated the labeling to a more bright-red-orange hue to improve readability. There's also very nice overlays that can put any color or contrast combination you want for around 130 dollars.
Gattobus, you have successfully shown us a sample of the huge range and depth of this machine. Well done indeed. How could one not be impressed with the quality of these sounds? The authentic representations of so many classic synths shows how vast this machine is, while showcasing your own considerable talents.
I was listening to this with RUclips on autoplay when this video came on, I couldn't see what synth it was. As far as I could tell, it was a very good analog synth. I really don't understand analog snobbery these days. This is a skillful demo, and the synth sounds great.
BRAVO.....BRAVO.....BRAVO......BRAVO.......OMG!!!! I can't stop listening to this. You're truly amazing not only in talent but also in choosing the best iconic songs for your excellent cover........ONCE AGAIN BRAVO!!!!!! If only I had your talent to do what you did live for my family and friends.....IF ONLY!!!!
must to say another thing...roland guys must to put the eyes on you, not only by the songs, but because if you need one particular sound, or melody, there is no problem to you...you just get it, and show to us, its piece of cake for you!!!in portugal, when a person is good in one thing, normally we say "you do it well with your closed eyes"!!!
great stuff, your rendition of Midnight Express theme solo is incredible and so is Around The World. I keep coming back to hear them again and again. Thank for the eargasm!
BRAVO...BRAVISSIMO!!!!!!!!!!!!!i have the jd-xa too....i have no idea this beautiful synth do this lovely sounds...until this moment...uuuaauuuuu....now i see i have to practice and stay more time with my baby!thanks to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very cool!!! I could see this sitting next to my Motif XF8 and Montage 8. I think with this, along with my VST's and the Yamaha boards would give me an endless supply of sounds :) I gotta' say, your vids are head and shoulders above the others I've been viewing! Simply great playing and demo. Thanks and best to you.
I’m not really a huge fan of modern Roland synths, but I have to say that you did a great job showing this off and Roland will definitely sell more of these thanks to this video. :)
Great to see you Gianni. Great demo. You seem to be very acquainted with it. Adding in your playing abilities. It's a gem. Loved the Moroder cover. I see your using those crazy Jedi skills again. GRIN!!
Grazie per avere messo a disposizione le patch delle tue cover! Dopo i primi anni di entusiasmo ho rinunciato a diventare un tastierista anche amatoriale e avere a disposizione suoni per le cover per me è una manna!
You are an amazing programmer and the sounds are unbelievable. I haven't owned a synth since my Roland JX-3P in the 80's, but your demo has convinced me of how far synthesis has come since then. I will be ordering a JD-XA very soon. Thanks! I've also downloaded your files of these sounds in anticipation of the day it arrives.
VERY nice! Brilliant job in terms of playing / programming, and the instrument sounds great too. Warm, full and not as harsh as most "analog" VIs I have heard.
Well I guess Roland should fire the guys that demo'd the JD XA at launch time, because when it came out I was hardly impressed. I hope next time they bring out an analog/digital hybrid they call Gattobus...
it's really hard to know what synths have in their guts with all these really bad demoes made by twidlers and noodlers. that being said, what a time to be alive!
I wholeheartedly agree. I have 14 Roland synthesizers & modules in my studio (TB-303, Jupiter 8, JV-80, A-80, &c), & because of this particular video, now a new JD-XA.
I have to admit that Roland continues to come out with new and original synths. Most manufacturers just continue to advance previous synths. Korg's Kronos is merely just an evolution from their M3. Then again when Korg added their KARMA it boosted their value tremendously. Now that most technology is moving in the digital computer realm, I always look for new synths that can operate on their own and remind me of what I grew up with.
Daaaaaaaaammmmnnnnnn. Holy shiznit, that was impressive. Jarre was incredible. The rest were bloody good too. Wow. It's pretty safe to say "You da man".
The JARRE-piece is blowing me out of my chair!!!
Holy crap i did not expect to see Enya of all things in this video. Great job!

I love 80`s patches! The sounds of that time was so pure.Thank you for this!!
Thanks Roland team ; )
Its so good to see/hear someone actually doing covers...wich is what 80%+ is what keys like this are used for in the real world.
Clavier avec arpegiateur et vocodeur ,effets spéciaux .
Magnifique. Merci pour la prestation.
This is a testament to what a chameleon the JD-XA is, and such a magnificent instrument. And how well it works in the hands of a true virtuoso. Fantastic performances! Thanks for sharing.
Really, really well done. Great choice of songs, phenomenal execution on sounds, and strong performance.
amazing work - roland should be very grateful to have this sitting on youtube for any potential purchasers to see.
Shows what a brilliant programmer like you can do! Bravo.
Really great to see the old classics like Oxygene 2 and On the Run for your old fans who have been with your channel since the very early days...
Oxygene sounds absolutely amazing!
That was the best concert I’ve seen in a long time!!! Encore!!! 🎶✨✨👑

Are you proof the "oldies but goldies" Dymo labels??
@@mgabrysSF печально, но может быть очки лучше хорошие купить?
@David Chatterton They don't do them any more
@@88SPIKE I bought this synth 4 months ago and they package the overlay with the synth.
Absolutely brilliant, thanks Gattobus! 3:16 is the reason I purchased the JD-XA, Roland needs to hire you!
That Jean Michel Jarre piece is great, how you push the bend wheel and the sound comes out like that , amazing... GATTOBUS you're the best.

Good god!! Enrico Flow and Oxygen II absolutley stunning!! 🤩
“Sweet Dreams” that D instead of a C is giving me nightmares!!
Actually, C is also pretty bad. I'd prefer Cm
Haha...thought the same.
@@sanchezgotsumkids yeah funny thing it was just that last note at the end
Sweet Creams?
@@GeekGearSynths omg were getting Way tooo into it now lol🤣🤪🤣
Fantastic job! I especially loved the JMJ performance. Keep it up.

JD-XA: All to remake 70's to 90's sounds and songs. Very good demo works. Congratulations.
BRAVO.....BRAVO.....BRAVO......BRAVO.......OMG!!!! I can't stop listening to this. You're truly amazing not only in talent but also in choosing the best iconic songs for your excellent cover........ONCE AGAIN BRAVO!!!!!!

You do Jean Michel proud. Now I'm sold on the Roland JD-XA.
Excellent variety here. The variety of genres covered here demonstrates the versatility.
You are simply brilliant, Oh I wish I had your talent. You are amazing to watch you make it look so simple, please never stop sharing thank you
When Oxygen arrived I was just in ecstasy. A lot of work with that patches to sound so incredible.
I keep coming back just to listen to your rendition of Morodor's Chase and that amazing outro. I wish you could make it a stand-alone track. So cool.
True that, keep coming back once in a while this version of "chase" might be the best new version of it
TY very much,Catpullman😀Your interpretations are really very nice👌👍😉
damn that Jarre sounds awesome!
Agreed‼️
At times when I think the real music generation is dead... this is awesome!!
This synth sounds like everything that I love about synth.
You nailed that Oxygene-part, awesome work!
I've been playing this for six months and you just crushed my self esteem 😝 great stuff! Thanks!
THANK YOU! I am sitting here at almost 2am breathing new live into my JD-XA! What an amazing synth and what an amazing guy figuring it out :)
Chase!!!!! one of the best ever! outstanding job......The Roland JD is a wonderful instrument!

Really nice job on the Pink Floyd!
Impressive. Must be a joy if you can play around with these pieces of equipment the way you do!
Sei un mito. Ho appena preso un JD-XA da un amico di Pescara, l'ho preferito al Juno-x. Non vedo l'ora che arrivi.
great stuff, your rendition of Midnight Express theme solo is incredible and so is Around The World. I keep coming back to hear them again and again. Thank for the eargasm!
Ahh... The 80s 🤗... How I miss you

Stumbled upon this vid while researching the Roland JD-XA. Awesome job programming to find those memorable sounds!
DAYUM!! That Oxygene II and On the Run. Good stuff
I'm buying a JD-XA after that demo fantastic keyboard.
I’m not really a huge fan of modern Roland synths, but I have to say that you did a great job showing this off and Roland will definitely sell more of these thanks to this video. :)
Wow! This was a wild ride! And you performed each segment so very well, I am duly impressed and jealous of your phenomenal expertise! Bravo!
good selection!!!
JMJ cover is just flawless - well done ..
Love the mix of little 90's style buttons and hands-on sliders option on this machine!
I'm a drummer/producer and a Yamaha promotor too, but this was so fucking rad. And all from that one machine. And to close with PF. #takeshatoff
Beginner here, learning about synths before buying one.
That is so cool you just press a button and all the presets are already saved!!
That's really a fantastic job! Oxygene is superb!
Really great!
Great synthesizer and great player...

Hi Gattobus, I bought a new JDXA today, just downloaded your sounds, thank you for being so generous with them. They sound great.
thanks a million for giving me even more inspiration with this synth, and in spite of the criticism, I think it's a very interesting synth afaic
insanely good as always i would like to see one or two of them expanded to the full song.
Outstanding! You've just about mastered this thing. More!
VERY nice! Brilliant job in terms of playing / programming, and the instrument sounds great too. Warm, full and not as harsh as most "analog" VIs I have heard.
Fantastic playing - great choice of tunes!
Amazing old school high quality sound! Thank you!
