    Hi King!
    Please listen to me. If you modify the right and left parts of the adjusting screw with gears, you will solve the wobble problem. And I'm sure this manual engineering would be great.

    Great video. I like the thin lightweight targets, but I don’t like that it can’t come apart for cleaning. It seems that the design requires that it can’t come apart to work and I think this is a bigger issue then you may think for shaver’s preferences. Either way, keep up the great work.

    A little curious about the durability of an o-ring in the bottom half. Would be a shame if a forever razor needed to be serviced to replace a rubber part.

    • @blacklandrazors
      @blacklandrazors  Год назад +2

      We're confident that the o-ring will last for many years. We've chosen a durable and non-absorbing compound for that o-ring. But the best part is that the o-ring is not required for operation. It's just there to prevent metal on metal rattling. If the o-ring failed, the razor would still operate as normal.

      Thanks, Steven! There won't be an OC at launch. It's possible to make one in the future, but the base plate assembly is pretty costly so I'm not sure it would make sense to offer those by themselves.

    • @blacklandrazors
      @blacklandrazors  Год назад +1

      Because two settings isn’t enough to cover everyone. A true adjustable fits the needs of a lot more people. Plus, machining two stainless base plates isn’t much cheaper than this.

    (1) Do you think it is feasible to design a razor with a dual adjustment, vertical and horizontal like the Tatara Muramasa razor at the same time, or such design would require some swiss engineering, e.g, clockmaker, to attempt such design with full adjustability.
    (2) would such risky and audacious adjustability have an added value or it is just nice to have.
    Thanks for your detailed videos, I can’t wait for the release date. Cheers !

    • @blacklandrazors
      @blacklandrazors  Год назад +2

      All adjustable razors adjust both the gap and exposure at the same time, this one included. Those variables aren't independent, though, so perhaps that's your point. That would be cool, but I'm not sure it's feasible.
      To understand how gap changes also impact exposure, imagine a razor in profile. Draw a line from the top cap to the safety bar. This is your shaving plane. If the blade sticks out beyond the plane, it's positive exposure. Now move that safety bar down. You'll notice that the slope of the line you drew also goes down and you'll see that the blade sticks out even more. The same is true if you decrease the gap. The slope of the line/plane decreases and more of the blade is covered, reducing exposure. The Tatara accomplishes the same thing in a different way, but all adjustable razors adjust both blade gap and blade exposure at the same time.
      Hope that helps!

    • @Medi_CA-TN
      @Medi_CA-TN Год назад

      Thanks for taking the time to share your clarifications. I asked the question because in general in the reviews of adjustables there is an inevitably mixed opinion/ reception for each design (e.g. the range it is too agressive or not agressive enough), I wondered if a dual adjustment with 2 knobs for an isolated vertical motion and horizontal sliding base-plates with some enforced security limitations would get a general consensus that may achieve the satisfaction of every user profile.
      But I understand your point of view which consists in saying that we can accomplish the majority of the expectations from an adjustable via a single movement that manages a simultaneous adjustment of blade gap and blade exposure while avoiding an excess of engineering/ over-engineering.

      If only Joseph Dombey could’ve completed his crossing of the Atlantic and succeeded to reach U.S coast in 1793 when Thomas Jefferson attempted the adoption of metric system, maybe both Canada and U.S could’ve become fully metric. Here in Canada is even weirder, we use metric for volume, temperature, road distances and speed but when it comes to smaller measurements, e.g, height and weight I’m lost completely when people switch to imperial especially when FRACTIONS are used for small dimensions. Canada is quite inter-dependent with U.S for construction products, therefore the mix between metric and imperial won’t disappear soon
