Sight word slap is part of our curriculum 😊 I make an anchor chart with the words we are learning and the student who hits the sticky note first (they have to say the word) they keep the sticky note 😊

Is this the right order?
First pre school, than kindergarden and then elementary school?
Karlchen F its preschool, then kindergarten which is at the primary/elementary school, then first, second, etc
Yes! Our preschool is more of a preparatory program to allow kiddos to get used to going to school. It is usually is only half day or only a few days a week. Then you go on to kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade 4th, 5th which are all usually referred to as our elementary grades. 6th-8th grade are our middle school grades. 9th-12th grade are the high school grades and most students are 18 by the time they graduate high school!

Karlchen F it is somewhat of a changeable name with middle school. Most junior high grades are 7-9th instead of middle school which is 6th-8th. It all depends on what school you go to but essentially everyone will complete the same amount of grades in the same order
I think itd be cute to hang the flags up in the front of the classroom so everyone can see them and maybe include them into a project

haileykatelynn Kinder is definitely my dream but I'm not being too picky on the grade for my first job! I'm trying to stay in the Snohomish County area, there's tons of great districts around here :)

I'm a Kinder teacher too! What do you think your protocol will be for play-doh? I don't know how I should manage it
I'm a Kinder teacher as well. I bought some thin plastic trays and had the students work on the tray. It made clean-up way easier. We have carpet and it was not fun picking play-doh off the ground. Hope that helps.
4th year in kindergarten, my rule of thumb is one color at the table at a time, so if they get mixed they aren’t gross and they work on old school lunch trays.

I am planning on having some little trays that the students will play with the play-doh on :) We will have to explicitly go over expectations on cleaning up, not mixing colors, etc at the beginning of the year and throughout too! Also all these suggestions are very good too :)
