Shane was what Rick would later grow into in the show. He was a mirror perfectly reflecting Rick's future and his death was what sparked Rick's journey into becoming him.
Shane did what he needed to do to insure the safety of the ones he cared for, even if it came down to sacrificing a life. You have to do what you have to do.
Hands down one of the greatest characters on the show, Jon Bernthal is a magnificent actor, maybe in tales of twd we will get some sort of past inside look that dives deeper into his character, because as I believe his story was perfect on twd you can’t help but to have wanted to see more of him, never knew what to expect with him on screen, one of the greatest once good man turned corrupt by circumstances stories ever, characters like Shane are what have made long time fans stick around for this long, we remember it all…..
I think you really hit the nail on the head; Shane's story was perfect. From beginning to end. But it left us craving more. If they would be able to handle it properly I'd love to see Jon Bernthal reprise his role in the tales of twd.
Shane\jon bernthal set the scene for the walking dead in terms of brutality and reality while others except Daryl to be honest were living in “fancy land” as he rightly said in season 2 he was awoke to the real world and the harsh impending danger around every corner Rick didn’t want to lose himself to that its tragic it took Shane’s death for Rick to understand that and Shane was right because Lori died when Rick didn’t make the hard call which makes me so sad because I love Rick but can’t argue that some of his decisions early. On understandably so were naive Rick eventually became like Shane and was just one bad day away one loss Shane was alone hence he seeked value through grimes family when Rick lost Carl it sent him down a dark path
People think he went crazy but he just realised that being nice wasn't going to get you and your family anywhere in the new world so he came to his senses quicker than others and most of the group became like Shane was when they got to the prison but others thought he was crazy but they became like he was later on so I don't believe Shane went crazy he became what the new world needed
Shane died so quickly. I would like to see him in the prison, fighting against Governor. Rick and Shane, their interaction, their showdown is the best things in the first and second seasons. Love this song and your tribute👍👍

It's a pity Shane lived no more than two seasons. Glen Mazar, for example, even had plans for this character in the third season. Enrages what is happening now, Shane would not hesitate and kill everyone without a bunch of unnecessary dialogues about family and being strong lol.
