- As we continue making our way down the east coast of the USA we find ourselves in Charleston, SC. We almost skipped Charleston due to fears over fouling our anchor (tons of reviews say that anchors get snagged and lost constantly due to the debris littering the river bed) and over the infamous mega dock that almost got the best of us....We end up having a magical time shore exploring and learning all about the gorgeous city, but have a call that is a little too close for comfort on our way out of the slip.
I really enjoy watching your adventures
Thank you guys for sharing
Great examples
Great leaders
That plane gave you a wing wave , a hello from the pilot !
That’s what it seemed like was a hello!! Such a cool experience 🙌🏼
Nice. Love the balance between operating the boat and seeing the sights.
Glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching!
Nice family enjoyable to watch your adventures. That narrow fairway was exciting !
So glad to hear you enjoy watching :) and yes it was very nerve wrecking especially when that unexpected current hit! Yikes
That was a great video..We just loved Charleston too. ⚓😎🦘
Thanks glad you enjoyed the video and yes we love that city!
Beautiful footage thank you for sharing your lives with us all. Another place for my bucket list.....
A wonderful place to add to that list for sure! I’m sure you will love it there. We had an amazing time
Always really enjoy your channel and your video tours of life on a Nordhavn 60. The opening monologue really gets to me and I always turn up the volume when it starts. Especially the part, 'tomorrow is never guaranteed, so we decided.... to head out to sea for an adventure of a lifetime.' It's just super perfect! Thanks for bringing your 'adventure' to us and looking forward to the next episode stop or cruise at sea!!
Awe that warms my heart that you enjoy the opening. It has a lot of meaning behind it that maybe one day I’ll share ❤️ we love to hear that you enjoy the videos and look forward to the next one! More are on the way 🥰
I always learn so much from you guys. Such interesting information on places you visit. Your personal air show reminded me of a very special day in my life as well.
On the day after an air show in London Ontario Canada in the late 80’s, I was working on a communications tower just north of the airport. I was working at about 300’ at the top of the tower. After the first fighter jet left, they all knew I was there and they all pulled various different maneuvers. One in particular that I remember tilted their wings to the vertical position and gave me a salute. It was quite a spectacular morning.
That sounds absolutely incredible. It’s amazing to see skilled pilots showing off their skills, especially when you are getting your own private show! Thanks for sharing your incredible experience 🙌🏼 we are so happy to hear that you enjoy the videos and find them informative 😊
We visited Charleston every year for a total of 10 years during Spring Break as our Boys, now your ages, grew up. Great visit from you, Loni visited each and every home open to the public and all of us made a full day or two at Magnolia Gardens, the Battery and Foley Beach. Just discovered you all and have so enjoyed your videos. Thanks so much for sharing. Bless you and your family. Loni & Al 💕
Wow!! That’s impressive how fully you all explored Charleston, I’m sure you know the history there as well as the tour guides do! The magnolia gardens were stunning and the cities history is fascinating! Welcome to the channel, glad you found us :)
#1 Thanks, love your channel and adventure!
So glad you love the channel and videos!!
Charleston is awesome! Sullivan's Island and Isle of Palms are great beaches. The aircraft was a C-17 Globemaster from Charleston Air Force Base right up the road from the city of Charleston.
Cool to know what the aircraft was!! Thanks for letting us know :)
Truly "living the dream". Great dog, beautiful boat, fueled by an adventurous spirit. Life is good!
Trying to live each and everyday to the fullest!!
Fire insurance companies once had their own private fire fighting companies. There were no public fire fighters. The companies responded to the fire and if you didn't have their fire insurance they left. The placards showed who you were insured with.
Our tour guide told us that as well, such a strange concept and so different from how it is now! Cool to see the history of organized fire fighting though
Lovely Channel! Very good content and an extremely likeable cast exploring. Very refreshing! Hope to run into you someday on the water or on the slopes!
Hey thanks so much! Glad to hear you at enjoying the channel :) that would be so fun to run into you some day! It’s always fun when that happens
Very cool video thanks for sharing... that's the biggest cucumber I have ever seen... your videos are absolutely perfect if I could I would like to make a request I would like to know how do you guys plan your trips what books do you use that shows you the bays and stuff that you are going to?... I know one time Mike thanks TJ for setting the waypoints in the autopilot what was that for?
Hahah we all love our veggie snacks, especially cucumbers! Lol we are so happy to hear that you are enjoying the videos, we are trying to get better about recording trip planning and discussions because it is a large part of the whole process. We will try to include that in some future videos, great suggestion:)
That Camo has got some moves! Good thing your boat is heavy or that current would have really pushed you around, I think they have about a 12 foot tidal swing there so a lot of water moving in/out. The jet shots were so cool, saw one of those guys at the FTL Air Show last year! He “buzzed the tower” (beach) and then went straight up, unbelievable
It’s so cool! I used to always go to watch the air shows when I was younger so it brought back memories! That’s very true, the only issue with a heavy boat is that it’s hard to move the other way once it gets going lol. We really thought we had timed slack so it caught us off guard!!
Yay, another fun Nordhavn 60 video!
Of course before it started, some strange guy wanted us all to know we all have 5lbs - 10lbs worth of rotting poo in our intestines! I decided not to stick around to learn about his fascination with such a topic because yah - no!
Yay, another fun Nordhavn 60 video!
Hahaha they seem to really be pushing that one these days, I’ve seen it quite often myself as well! But welcome to the adventure!! Happy to have you along for the ride!
That C-17 Globemaster is a converted transport to gunship...it was practicing tactical movements with your boat...that flashing of lights is like flare deployment with the hard break to the right after firing upon your boat....looked like fun
Oh very interesting! It was a super cool experience
The plane thing was really cool
Yeah it was so sick!! Highlight of the day for sure!
The dogs looked like they were having the best time ever!!!!
Haha right! Having a total blast at the park, such a great way to end the day!
Wait just a minute! TJ actually owns a T-shirt? LMAO just poking fun! love the vlog! Keep it up the awesome vlog
Hahah after living in the mountains of Colorado for the past 8 years of his life and constantly being cold he is LOVINGGGG warm weather living lol. Glad you are enjoying the videos
I've walked that whole place, it's amazing! You need to go there at night
Loved seeing the oldest parts of Charleston! So beautiful! Tee J with that cucumber was amazing 😂. Camo is always so happy making new friends! That marina was a tight squeeze for sure 😳Miss you guys, glad you are having so much fun!
Oh hi Lisa!! We miss you too 💔 Charleston was so beautiful, we will definitely be back...but maybe by land so that we don’t have to deal with that marina again. Once was enough for me!
Great video! So I know you were up here in my home state of Maine a few months back, but funny enough in my early 20s I actually lived in Charleston, S.C. I absolutely loved it there, my wife and I have thought about relocating south in a couple years when our children are both adults. Keep the great videos coming!
You have lived in some pretty wonderful places then! It would be a pretty great place to relocate to, it seems pretty ideal almost year round :) glad you are enjoying the videos :)
@@adventures Yes also lived briefly (like 4 months) in Utah. Highly doubt I'll be seeing any Nordhavns there. lol
Utah is incredible. I have adventured there tons while living in Colorado!
I used scopolamine patches for motion sickness. You can't get scopolamine tablets any longer but I've had a pharmacy make scopolamine capsules, which allow you to control the dosing easier than the patches.
Good to know we will have to look into that! Thanks for the tip!
You guys seem to attract good Karma wherever you go! BTW, the aircraft that put on the show for you was a C-17 Globemaster. I've never seen one do that.
The pilots gave you the full treatment. That was waaaaaay cool!😁👍
We try to put out those good vibes!! So cool to know what it’s called! It was such a cool experience I’ve never seen a plane so that before either
Charleston is so beautiful! It's on our list of places to visit soon, now that we're so close in NC. Thanks for sharing!
You are very welcome and you should 100% visit, it’s amazing!! Have fun 😊
Nice to get a wing dip from the military plane.
It was so cool!! We felt pretty special in that moment lol
I'm no expert, but that looks like a C17 Globemaster. Pretty cool of the Aircrew to give you guys a treat!
That’s what someone else said it was also and they seemed very confident so nicely done! And yes we were so lucky, such a cool experience
@@adventures yep def C17
I'm sorry I perhaps confused you; I guess what I'm trying to say is that you are doing a good job by numbering the episodes. I do apologise if I have confused you. However, I enjoy your show, it is very well organised, excellent and well done from down under. :-)
Ahhhh you mean for the other episodes, they should have the episode number like this one does. I understand now, we are going to be including them going forward for sure!! Glad you are enjoying the journey. Thanks for joining along!!
Wonder if the pilot follows the channel, that may be why he gave you the "wing-waggle" as he (or she) went by! I saw another video of a "trawler life family" based in the Pacific North West fairly recently and they had a bulbous bow _added_ to their boat. It DRASTICALLY cut down on the pitching that normal stabilzers don't fight. The channel is Cruising Sea Venture, it cost them just under $20k including the haulout and relaunching.
That could be! Very interesting about adding the bulbous bow and I’m even more surprised at the price tag. I had always heard that they were way more expense. I’ll have to check out their video! Thanks for the info
I really enjoyed the info they gave on the difference the Bulbous Bow made for Pitching. I can't remember where I read it, but Nordhavn did look into the Bulbous Bow and found that under a certain size, it didnt really pay off.
Yes my dad was telling me about that as well when I asked him about it in the past. It’s an interesting thing that’s for sure!
Yes my dad was telling me about that as well when I asked him about it in the past. It’s an interesting thing that’s for sure!
Good night, today 02-03-2021, I continue to dream through your journey. Many years ago, I had a Cris Craft cruise and I was able to live unforgettable moments. A question to Nattie, TJ or Mike. What date do you plan to arrive in Jacksonville or San Augustine? If we agree on the times, I would like to take you to the mooring port, some "empanadas" made by me, just as a thank you for allowing me to dream. Good trip !
So glad to hear you enjoy joining along and watching the journey! We currently have no plans to head that way, but if we do we will let you know :) those sound delicious 😋
@@adventures While at Charleston S.C. and continuing south, you have Savannah in Georgia and the next one is Jacksonville, Florida, a little over 200 miles total. The invitation is formally made, if you pass through our beautiful city, which you can even sail through the Saint John River, and we coincide in the times, I bring you the promised food. Excuse me "Camo" but I know that your food must Be special. I wish you the best weather!
Ahh yes we are actually slightly behind on our videos so we have already passed Georgia and all of Florida actually and are in the Bahamas now. But if our paths goes back up northern Florida we will take you up on that offer 😊🙌🏼
@@adventures OK
Daff a sooki Island! Haha.
We had so many guesses on ways to say it lol
Thenpart with the C17 put me in mind of the farmer in Wales whose property was on one of the entry points to the low flying area known as the Mach loop (look it up) anyway he tired of aircraft noise and on the roof of his barn wrote a message .....ah inviting pilots to go elsewhere.....of course word got around and everyone made a special point of going that way to have a look and snag a photo
Hahaha that’s too funny and such a bummer that his plan backfired...majorly. It’s cool to see planes close up every once in a while, but if it was all the time I’m sure I would go nuts also!
What a beautiful city Charleston is. As for Camo, what a bad influence he was for the other dogs. They don't realise he's been onboard and needs his zoomies.
It’s a gorgeous city! the other dog owners were actually so happy to have a new dog to their nightly park hangs to spice things up and get all their dogs exercised!
Oh yeah I saw that for sale as well. What a tank of a boat! and yes he had tons and tons of fun!
I would like to make a suggestion just for us as follows to follow you lot easier, please try to use numbering your episodes like this 22.
Hmmm I am a little confused because I do have EP.22 in the title and on the thumbnail. Is that not showing up for you somehow?
A few things that help me with sea sickness; No coffee the morning of departure, no going downstairs even to pee, fresh air and keeping my eyes on the horizon/land as much as possible. Dramamine and wrist bands seem to help many. You may be done sailing by now but this may help in the future. Loved that plane and Camo out running all the dogs!
I have cut out the coffee and definitely try to stay looking out the window at the horizon with the doors and windows open! I haven’t tried Dramamine yet but I probably should at some point!!
@@adventures if you follow MV Freedom, they did a gift guide before Christmas, and Relief Bands were on the list. Elizabeth highly recommends them for sea sickness. Also Elayna just got hers in a recent vlog.
Yes we have a relief band and really like it as well! We probably should get a few more but so far we can definitely tell that they helps which is awesome!
Lekker man lekker
@16:34 American muscle dominating the air. God Bless AMERICA!
Such a cool sight!! 🙌🏼
Hi guys I'm looking for cheoy Lee ketch 45 to 53 project is okay to if you know any please let me know thanks 👍🙏...
We don’t know of any but if we do, we will let you know!
the ice is melting
Not gonna lie, the plane was cool! Quick question, do you guys tie up the same way all the time? You mentioned slack lines, aren’t all the lines taught? Perhaps a quick vid of how you tie up.
So cool! We were like little kids and so excited about it lol. That’s a good idea for something to include! The lines that are tight change depending on the current and the wind direction. Because it was slack tide and there was minimal wind the spring lines that hold the boat forward or back, were slacked
What are you using to film your trip?
We are using iPhones, Nikon D750, gopros, and a mavic drone
👍👍
You call that a tight exit between all these boats?? lol, come have a look in Holland, 30 cm each side is quite normal.
Yikes!! I guess the pucker factor is all relative for what you are used to!!
YOU'RE a beautiful 🌼 flower.. LoL
Hehehe 😆🙌🏼
Maybe they watch your RUclips channel?
Does anyone know Morse code?
🤔 I Wonder if they were sending a message.
Wouldn’t that be wild!!
Hey do yall have an Instagram page?. i can`t find you............
Currently we just have our personal Instagram pages @natawhee7 and @teej_turbo 😊
Please, please, please....get a proper microphone. Please.
We just got one and now just need to get used to using it. The wind noise makes me cringe also
Great stuff! Subscribed and going through your vids - I am looking at doing the same as your father - retiring on a yacht and most likely a Nordhavn - looking at the 57 - I didn't see a tour of the boat on your videos - maybe I missed it? A detailed tour would be amazing - as well as stats - such as range and nm per gallon.. etc. and dash tour..
A boat tour is on our to-do list for sure!! We keep meaning to get one done so be on the lookout for one to come in the next month or so :) that’s an awesome plan! It’s one heck of a tank that will bring you wherever you want to go!
@@adventures Awesome ! Look forward to it :)
Lol I’ve never heard anyone pronounce Daufuskie like that before!!
Hahahah oh goodness when we first saw it written out we had lots of guesses on how to say it and then forgot to ask the locals how it’s actually pronounced while we were there
@@adventures Duh Fu ski
Very good to know!!!
