Hi Shug, just wanted to say how invaluable your video was to a newbie like me. I was struggling with my underquilt the first night of hammock camping and your video taught me so much in 10 minutes. Warmness galore!
Shug I wanted to thank you for inspiring this old guy, 56yo, for getting out and off the couch and hike the Linville gorge with my Marine son. You and hickory have truly been such a inspiration I can't thank you enough. You have taught me so much on ur videos and converted me from tents to hammocks. Again thank you both and God bless.
Took my 40F incubator down to 29F this past weekend and was a-ok. Just ordered a 0F incubator and can't wait for the cooler temps. Great video and great stuff from HG. Also have their down pillow for my head and neck. Love it!
Just picked up my Econ incubator and burrow with sewn foot box off the front step! Got them both in 20 and had them overstuffed by 2 ounces. I knew just the video to watch when I was a little confused by the primary and secondary suspension. You cleared it right up for me. Thanks for that! Even though it’s the Econ models, the material quality and craftsmanship is still outstanding. I have 0 regrets about spending the $400+ on the set. I found ONE feather when I pulled them out of the box. Only one, single, downy little feather. Barely 1/4” long. Outstanding. And there is no bad smell like I’ve seen some people complain of with some other down gear. We’re starting to come in to warmer weather here in Virginia, but it will still be nice on the cooler nights we still have this time of year. I told my wife she can have the bed to herself this weekend cause I gotta try these bad boys out!! Now off to re-watch your video on storing your down gear! I think you have one or two of those anyway.
Thank you Shug!!! Did tons of prepping for w/e in Jones Gap, SC and you had so many helpful videos, even back to 2007! My 20° HG quilts were excellent. 31° and gusty high winds to 25 mph first night was comfy with 1 layer and hat. Second night 24° but only single digit wind left me barefoot, no hat, and open TQ. HG stock quilts exceeded my expectations - thanks to your help with proper set up with all the gear in a hammock system!!! Now looking to do Shortoff in Linville Gorge; researching hammock or tent for that beauty. All the best for your days Shug!!!!
Hey Shug , been a fan for years . Just wanted to thank you for going over the incubator adjustment. Been hammocking up here in the far northeast sector (not sure on the number) . Hanging the other day and notice my uq was not up to my expectations . Quick watch with you and bingo ! Noticeable difference immediately .. thanks. All clear in my sector !
I just got my Phoenix 40 and Burrow 40 a few weeks ago. I ordered my Incubator 20 and Burrow 20 today. Neat that you put a video out a out it on the same day. Now I'll have a good reference when it gets here. Thanks Shug. Your so intuitive.
Well, your video completely fixed the problems I've been having adjusting my underquilt. My primary suspension hadn't been attached to the biners, and I honestly hadn't known what to do with this apparently random loose loop of shock cord. I'd been treating (what I now know is) the secondary suspension as the primary suspension, which sort of worked after a fashion except that I couldn't adjust it so that it fit well - either my shoulders or my feet were always cold - one end of me or the other always popped off the edge of the quilt, and if I tried to pull it up/down, the other end would get cold. Given that I'm 5'5", it seemed ridiculous that I couldn't seem to cover all of me with the underquilt. Simply clipping the primary suspension to the biners and then using the secondary suspension to make fine adjustments completely solved the issue. Thank you so much! I'd been regretting my choice of switching from a bridge hammock to a gathered-end, because I couldn't seem to have a comfortable night. It seems completely obvious now, but up until an hour ago it had been a frustrating mystery.
I watch a lot of RUclips videos, (mostly makeup, I have to admit.) You make EXCELLENT videos. You put the "ham" into hammocking! (And "mock" 😉.) I'm planning a 100 day backpacking trip and I have been looking into hammocking on the cheap. Hoping to get a light system together for under $200. Purchased some down feathers and took apart an old sleeping bag. Going to reuse the fabric, baffle and stuff it for a top quilt. This video really helped me with the concept of what an underquilt needs to do. That's the next project, so thanks!
I am guessing that I will watch this video several times in the time forward :) I'd like to thank you for your great spirit and humour in addition to all the knowledge you provide us all with. I think we all need it in these strange times. I have been going back and forth on an underquilt, and your superiorgear video threw me of for a while, but after some thinking I decided to go for the hammockgear instead. I contacted them in relation to a couple of questions I had about overfill and such, and the swiftness and service they provided in their answer resulted in an order for two economy incubator 10F for me and my wife. Again, thanks, and greetings from Norway :)
I just got a 20 degree full length incubator for Christmas, hope to finally try it out this weekend in the gorge. After watching your video I am more confident I will get it correct! thanks for all the laughs and priceless information.
I really wanted to say you were some weird kooky guy that sleeps in a hammock in the woods, but this channel is by far one of the most entertaining channels I've seen on RUclips in a long time. Just for that one joke about the hand motion, you got my subscription. Love the content and keep up the great work.
I started backpacking 3 years ago and my first tent was a hammock. I’m so glad i took that chance because it’s luxury. I’ve been in friends tents and they’ve been ehhh. Finally got my first under quilt. It’s the Econ short because I’m 5 feet short so I don’t see a reason for the longer one. I’m hopping it all works out. I really love backpacking, everyone is just so generous to a stranger. During one of my trips in May i was out there and another group showed up and one had a hammock but he had the long one. He let me try it for that night and he used my foam pad. Being a poor college kid, it was nice to test before buying.
Shug be warm for sure. I got the snaps on my HG top quilt foot box and I'm sure glad I did. The first hour I was unsnapping the first one to let me spread my knees inside that wide dream hammock.
Yeh 20 degree best all round eh....I am on same latitude as you but on other side of the Great Lakes, so same temperature fluctuations , winter weather and have been toiling with the choices i.e... 20 or 10 vs zero and just ordered an HG Ecubator Zero without any bells and whistles yesterday rather than fooling around with overstuffing of the twenty or ten etc and fingers cross that I can vent without much trouble in warmer temperatures. Realistically at 69 years young , not likely to be out hammocking below the zero temperature In any event but never know with weather in fall Ie hunting or just to get the old folks whispering about the crazy old bastard across the street. Thanks for hints, overview, easy to watch presentations you provide the hammock community as really helps reduce the learning curve. You and others who own these things has helped influence my decision. Worst case scenario if too warm for my use, I can a lighter Phoenix in addition. Keep them tips coming as never to old to teach an old dog new tricks. Cheers ..
Great Video Shug. Love your work! I have been using the Phoenix underquilts, most often the 40 F and not over tightening the ends is a really big deal. I froze at 45 F with my 20 F quilt and then learned how to adjust. Took my 40 F quilts down to almost 30 F and was toasty!
The Snipe! I always wanted a Wilderness Logics Hammock. Great setup! You had some good trials & trails & came out on top. Nice work! That's cool they put your name on it. A legend. Maybe someday you will pass along a Shug underquilt, the torch, a legend to wander with.
Shug!, nobody makes a better video on this stuff than you do. I'm very new to hammock camping. I've had only 1 good night so far... but I'm learning how to make it right for me. The details that you cover, REALLY are making my life much better! Next time I'm in MN, I'm going to see if I can go to one of your shows! THANK YOU!... by the way, I'm awaiting my first real underquilt from UGQ (Underground Quilts)! Can't wait!
Just got an incubator, and about to attach it. First underquilt I've ever owned, so I decided to see if there were any videos with instructions. I should have known the first suggestion was a Shug video! I'm heading up to sector 7 in Acadia Park in Maine in a week. Hopefully it's all secure there.
Thanks so much for taking the time to make this. I just picked up an economy Incubator to extend my hang season and, whether it would have been intuitive to set up or not, now I don’t need intuition. I just gotta repeat “uh need it te be up agin’ me” 😂
without doubt the most useful vid on youtube regarding UQ`s , saved and watched about ten times already , think I might just about have it now cheers shug!
And I thought my hammock gear top and under quilts were beautiful in cinnamon brown. I think your color scheme is amazing. For anyone on the fence about what quiltage to purchase... I have had many "high-end" down bags and garments and my Hammock gear products puts them all to shame. I only wish I had purchased from HG back in 1967 when I began backpacking yet I believe they had not been born yet. . It is VERY good stuff. If only I could get a cuben-fiber tarp with doors coming for xmas!
I am so jealous Shug!! I'm up to 5 HG quilts and a CF tarp now and you just cant beat the quality. Getting my brand new 20F burrow out this weekend. Happy hangin
Thank you! Just received an incubator and it's suspension is different from my other underquilt. I was a little confused between the primary and secondary suspension. This video has been really helpful.
Oh I am soooo stoked to have my HG Incubator ordered 😀😀. I should have done it months ago...can't wait to turf the thermarest pad out of my hammock lol. Woooooo buddy!!! 👍👍
Oh my golly! That underquilt is a beaut! And with that sweet logo on it! Blows my mind! My first underquilt is in production at the UGQ and your video will help me get toasty. Thank you!
Great looking quilt! Just got my first underquilt (Loco Libre Cayenne Pepper) and rewatched the video because I remember your HG had the same type of suspension. Will see how it goes tonight. Thanks for all your videos and keeping sector seven secure!
Oh this is one for the playlists Shug! Love my Incubator full length 20 degree with a lil' extra myself. Been snug as a bug to -4C/25F and could have been significantly colder I figure, thanks to the overstuffing. Going to double check my draft collar cinch cords though, do notice the quilt can shift underneath me if I go from back to side posture at times so should also check secondary. Great vid!
Awesome thanks, totally had no idea what I was doing with my new hammock gear, was in back yard and getting a cold butt, can’t wait to try this, this evening:) Shug!!!
Really love your new setup and the logo makes it all the better. I came up with a logo for my brother in law this summer. Had a t shirt made up for him. It's so much fun to have one. Great video Mike
I’m late to the game, but thanks so much for this video. I’m new to the hammock world. I got the Wanderlust kit from HG and took it out for the first time this wknd. I struggled the first night. Turns out I didn’t have that primary suspension connected. Night two was much better. Primary suspension in place and I stayed warm. After that, my problem was when I tried to lie at an angle I kept slipping out of my underquilt. Can’t figure out what I was doing wrong.
so many variables with UQs. Be patient and keep fiddling with it. Enjoy the journey as new things keep us new and fresh. Don't cinch you ends too tightly or loosely. You will find your sweet spot.
That is a sweeet.. setup Shug, I love the color combo! I think this is the year I'll get my quilts. Definitely going with Hammock Gear, Adam makes some great stuff!
I want a quilt with my logo on it! Of course, I'd have to get a logo. That would take planning, thought and work. Nah. It's easier just to be jealous of yours. Keep up the good work, Shug!
Those quilts look sweet! When I ordered my burrow and incubator 20 it took me longer to decide on the color combo than the model. i want to get more HG quilts but I am focusing on getting out there for now. Don't know what I will 'need'
Shuuuuuuuuuug! Nice video...I plan on in the next year purchasing a zero degree full length UQ...am circling the wagons a bit considering options...I bought in the fall a "3 season wooki" from warbonnett and my initial backyard testing has been very promising...this is I think a similar design to the "snug fit" by ed speer in ways as well as sheltowee's "intregrated hammock"...the attachment of the head and foot end of the quilt as a sort of continuous extension or as a "2nd hammock" pretty much seems to me so far to be a wonderful design..there is no issue with how you go about cinching up the head and foot ends... I just have yet to find time to get out and do a TRIP in my new quilt (tentative overnight trip planned for 2nd weekend in Jan)...so frustrating...well...at least I can sit around in my underwear on the couch and watch your trips shug....vicarious breeeeakfast from the hammock. Happy Trails!!
I'm not complaining(OK..I'm complaining...) but you always give weights, but you don't show the size they pack down to very often. Like I said, I'm not complaining(I complained), but I still love videos like these. thanks for doing what you do.
To me, his video said "adjusting", and that's what I wanted to see. For pack sizes, he absolutely does videos that show different gear and how it packs down, how much it weighs, etc. You have to be careful what you put in each video or the video becomes too long. You wanted weights and sizes, the next guy wanted details on the fabrics, the next guy wants to discuss baffles, next wants to discuss the different types of insulation, next wants to cover temperatures for different climates, etc, etc. That's why you put a descriptive title on a video, and I think there was no confusion as to what was in this. Overall if you want to see a video dedicated to weights and sizes, I would recommend that on a persons main channel or email them. Some channels even have a bucket just for comments and suggestions.Perhaps a format, you would suggest for Shug is that he does a review of this under quilt and top quilt. A review would have specs and details such you are requesting. But really, what Shug does better than anyone in my opinion, is to cover the usage, help you weigh the pro's and con's, help you get more enjoyment from hammocking, oh and every once in awhile he's mildly entertaining LOL....All clear in sector 7
I just made one out of an old Walmart sleeping bag and the bungies off my back packs! 🤔🙃🤓 seems to work better than nothing so far! Thanks for all the tips, you’re a real class act! 😎
My Hennessey hammock has the bug net sewn to one side, plus I like using its asymmetrical guy line widening anchor points. Both of those features seem to be making it even more difficult for this hammocking n00b to get the UQ situated snug as a Shug in a rug. (And feeling like I should've shopped around to other hammock and underquilt makers more before buying my first setup, which cost me about $700 - significantly more than I spent on the Marmot 2.5p tent and 15 degree F XL XW bag setup I've been loving for a full decade.) So far, of all the tutorial vids I've been watching, yours has been the most enjoyable and educational to watch, so thank you! Do you think your lil' suggestion of using an extra piece of shock cord to wrap around under my quilt and over my ridgeline will solve this problem?
JacksRBetter make an under quilt specifically for a Hennessy....www.jacksrbetter.com/product/the-nest/ Might be a better option if you can sell or return your current UQ. And yes, the shock cord trick is worth a try.
OK shug preference time. if you had to choose 1 under quilt for cold weather hanging would it be the Loco Libre that you have, or this one. if both where set to the same temp rating ? I'm finally going to order one for myself and both makers make great quilts from reviews and such that I've seen.
Thanks for the vid Mr. Shug! The "King of snooze" approves haha. I finally made the switch from a ridge runner to a Chamaeleon. Interesting that some people think a bridge hammock is better for side sleepers. That's why I purchased The RR in the first place. Definitely not in my case. I hooked up my new hammock gear incubator on my chameleon for the first time today. It's really not that tough. Thanks primarily for your videos I had the concepts, which is what it's all about. It's not rocket surgeon stuff 🤗😜 carry-on wayward son 🤘
I have. You will see it in this video....ruclips.net/video/D9N3KkV5Zf4/видео.html And this....ruclips.net/video/sIiHN6Y88iw/видео.html My UQ Playlist for more info.....ruclips.net/p/PLahaAdtfX9ZKzSYSBm3mBYSPGHjdyGqsL
Shug, I'm a hammock newbie. Backpacker for life. Santa's bringing me an ENO doublenest, and 2 costco quilts I'm going to DIY into a modular top/bottom quilt combo. I've noticed most experienced guys like you don't use much ENO. Something I should know? Best I can tell they make some good stuff. Just not many bug net options, tho. I'll DIY that before summer hits. Just wondered why you use the brands you do. Cause we all know not to do what you do... at least when putting a stove on our heads...
In the underquilt video in which you showed a Hudson River as a. UQ on your Blackbird, you tightened the foot side a d head side more to "bias" the UQ. Do you do the secondary suspension on the Incubator the same way? Tighten the foot side and right shoulder side more? Thanks
Good points. I was just doing some modifications on my skeeter beeter hammock and my poncho under quilt. Getting the underquilt right was giving me a hard time but with your suggestions I think I can dial it in. Thanks Shug!!!
Shug...what are the dimensions do the primary, secondary end end shock cords. Never saw on their site and just wondering If any of the three should be upgraded to a bigger diameter.. in your opinion Thx.
Alright, thanks Shug. I have seen so many of your videos I guess I might have assumed you have everything there is to have hammock related! Thanks for the entertaining vids, quite inspirational.
I didn't need to look up Nerd in the encyclopedia, that's the service Shug has provided humanity. Good thing he makes up for it in all the infotainment btw on a average Shug loadout, you could probably buy a nice used car XD
I know I flip you a lotta what monkeys throw, but its only cuz you're awesome. EnlightenedEquipment actually makes some fine quilts for those us us what can't afford monogrammed quilts btw.
Man I just checked out your Enlightened Equipment prices and was knocked out of my hammock. They are basically the same price or more for the plane Jane models I thought the way you were talking they were going to be at least a 25% difference. Personally I think they are all way overpriced and so do the Chinese. Perhaps we don't eat enough ducks and geese in North America!!
I have tried socks. Too much condensation build-up for me though. Damp but warm. Plus, they defeat what I like about hammocks by sealing me up. I like access to a good view!
I don't want condensation. I also had the same thought with doors on the tarp, but you can't get views with them on. I'll most likely go with a warmer top quilt. Thanks!!
That set is $$$! lol Very nice. I have a snugpak underblanket and jungle quilt, prolly good down to around 45, their prices are amazing tho, quality not too shabby either. Ready to work on a better cold weather setup for sure.. cheers
Well.....I got the good friend/Shug deal as I have known Adam a long time...plus I wanted to help him with a Incubator adjustment video. So my deal was not what others would get.
hey shug new subscriber and a little late for the show on this video but it helped alot. I just got a incubator 10f I'm canadian so -12c for me lol. I took my new underquilt down to 1c this weekend and for the life of me couldn't get rid of one little cold spot on my calf. re watched this vid a few times today while adjusting in the backyard and that cold spot is persistent. any recommendations? thanks in advance.
Can you put one underquilt over another one an increase the warmth. I have a One Tigress - 6 to -12 C one and I have a DIY down one and to be perfectly honest I think both will fit on the hammock perfectly. I'm up north of you guys in Winterpeg and should just go and try it but I'd like your input.
Do you find the UQ messes with trying to get a good diagonal lay? I can't sleep in a hammock unless it's diagonally, so if the quilt isn't wide enough to accomodate my feet would likely come out at some point...can't have that.
I have to sleep diagonally, otherwise my knees get a gradual hyper-extension during the night and by morning they are hurting and wobbly to hike out on. I am a summer-only hammock camper, but I'm trying to expand into fall and maybe winter one day. Want to make sure I get gear that will work for me but not mess with my current habits.

You are like "the hammock professor" i mean: you have skills man! Respect
Hey shug I used to be into tent camping but your videos changed me and now I only hammock camp. I just wanted to say thanks for making great videos.
Enjoy the comfort quest.

Excellent tutorial. Just outstanding explanation, camera angle, and delivery style.

Thank you, after watching this video I adjusted my underquilt and now I am very comfortable.
Great to hear that I could help. UQs can be tricky....

Thanks so much for taking the time to make this. I just picked up an economy Incubator to extend my hang season and, whether it would have been intuitive to set up or not, now I don’t need intuition. I just gotta repeat “uh need it te be up agin’ me” 😂
Glad it helped. And yessir...it has to be up agin' ye....
Haha loved the different voices at 4:45! Thanks for the tips Shug of the past!
Righto~
Just ordered my 0 degree. I’ll be glad to have friends to help adjust!
Hope it serves you well!
without doubt the most useful vid on youtube regarding UQ`s , saved and watched about ten times already , think I might just about have it now cheers shug!
Glad it helped.
Ten-four on all that.
I am so jealous Shug!! I'm up to 5 HG quilts and a CF tarp now and you just cant beat the quality. Getting my brand new 20F burrow out this weekend. Happy hangin
They must love you! Whooooo Buddy))))
Thank you! Just received an incubator and it's suspension is different from my other underquilt. I was a little confused between the primary and secondary suspension. This video has been really helpful.
I'm glad it served.
Oh I am soooo stoked to have my HG Incubator ordered 😀😀. I should have done it months ago...can't wait to turf the thermarest pad out of my hammock lol. Woooooo buddy!!! 👍👍
You will love hammocks all the more now.
Outdoors&Family Sorry you could not make it to the Gorge this weekend. hope you get to try your Incubator before summer. See you next time. Good luck.
Just got my incubator and when I saw you got your new quilts on the forums I was waiting for the video! Helps a bunch. Thanks Shug
Aye....good the hear that.
Oh my golly! That underquilt is a beaut! And with that sweet logo on it! Blows my mind! My first underquilt is in production at the UGQ and your video will help me get toasty. Thank you!
Enjoy it!
Just got my first UQ found your video most excellent. You have given me some great advice thanks.
Good to hear that.
The black and orange is really looking great along with a black hammock :)
I absolutely love the colors of the quilts!
They just look warm.
Great looking quilt! Just got my first underquilt (Loco Libre Cayenne Pepper) and rewatched the video because I remember your HG had the same type of suspension. Will see how it goes tonight. Thanks for all your videos and keeping sector seven secure!
Here is me adjusting my Loco Libre UQ....ruclips.net/video/5AJ8qJQ-zHc/видео.html
Great vid!
Oh sweet tq surrounds us with your glow!
Awesome thanks, totally had no idea what I was doing with my new hammock gear, was in back yard and getting a cold butt, can’t wait to try this, this evening:) Shug!!!
Glad it helped.
Really love your new setup and the logo makes it all the better. I came up with a logo for my brother in law this summer. Had a t shirt made up for him. It's so much fun to have one. Great video
Mike
You are my favourite now Mr. SHUG😂👌 Always entertaining and informative. Greeting from Indonesia🙏
Thankee Ryan. Whooooo Buddy)))))
Congratulations Shug! That is one Awesome Quilt Set!
Thankee. Like I need more!
Now that I have a burrow finally, I'm definetly gonna get an incubator to match! Exelent video once again Snug.
Yessir.....carry forth.
That is a sweeet.. setup Shug, I love the color combo!
I think this is the year I'll get my quilts. Definitely going with Hammock Gear, Adam makes some great stuff!
I dream well in them....until Hickery farts!
I want a quilt with my logo on it! Of course, I'd have to get a logo. That would take planning, thought and work. Nah. It's easier just to be jealous of yours. Keep up the good work, Shug!
I just love it.
I would LOVE to have one of those! You talked me into the ULA Ohm 2.0 this year for Christmas, so next year will be the underquilt.
Thanks Shug for the info. Just purchased a bottom quilt will give your suggestions a go. Hang long my friend.
Hope it helps you get it right the first time.
Sweet color scheme on both the UQ and TQ! Took me a bit to get used to my Incubator, salamat Po for the refresher!
Glad to have something other than politics to watch.
Chris Rasmussen indeed
Vote for shug
Mighty nice piece of customized kit for sure!
Too true!
Those quilts look sweet! When I ordered my burrow and incubator 20 it took me longer to decide on the color combo than the model. i want to get more HG quilts but I am focusing on getting out there for now. Don't know what I will 'need'
You'll know after being out there. Whoooooo Buddy)))))
Nice! My new underquilt came in the mail last time. Time to hang this weekend.
Thanks for the video
Now that's a nice setup, Love the colors...Great video!!
Those colors feel warm without even being in it.
Been reading about that Wooki on hammock forums. Seems promising.
Nice looking quilt set, I have a set from Loco that's brown and orange, thanks again for an informative video
I'm not complaining(OK..I'm complaining...) but you always give weights, but you don't show the size they pack down to very often. Like I said, I'm not complaining(I complained), but I still love videos like these. thanks for doing what you do.
I will do that in a different video dedicated to just showing the quilts. This one was more about fitting and adjusting it.
***** constructive criticism is all. thanks again!
Just what I need::::::
What a nice looking color combo.
I too love it. Thanks.
Thanks for explaining the secondary suspension
Y'elcome. It needs to be known!
Is the orange ridge line on your hammock shock cord? Is it always attached to your hammock? If not shock, then how are setting it up properly? Thx!
Man Shug that is nice! I wish I could afford something like that! I just got my first hammock and I’m loving it
It is filled with dreams!
JacksRBetter make an under quilt specifically for a Hennessy....www.jacksrbetter.com/product/the-nest/
Might be a better option if you can sell or return your current UQ. And yes, the shock cord trick is worth a try.
Thanks. I think i have to try an underquilt, slept always on my downmat since 197 days and the winter is comming.
Those downmats are sure nice for a pad though....
Ya know Shug... You camp int some really cold weather by my standards. What do you do when you have to visit the donacre?
I just go. Body is working hard. No lingering, but feels good.
OK shug preference time. if you had to choose 1 under quilt for cold weather hanging would it be the Loco Libre that you have, or this one. if both where set to the same temp rating ? I'm finally going to order one for myself and both makers make great quilts from reviews and such that I've seen.
No preference really. Have not used either enough to make that decision.
Both are top notch. Win/win either way.
Cult of Personality really.
Some seem to struggle with it...thus this video.
Glad yours hooked up well and good.
“Up against me”. Classic Shug!!!!
When I grew up down south lots of men would say "up again" instead of "up against" " Put that table up again the wall"
Have you ever done a video on your 3/4ths length underquilt? I’m thinking about switching, but I can’t find much info on RUclips.
I have. You will see it in this video....ruclips.net/video/D9N3KkV5Zf4/видео.html

my 0 degree Incubator is in the mail. Thanks for the great video. Cannot wait to try it out.
Yessir!
That's what she said! lol As a novice, this is huge, and very helpful, I must say! cheers kind sir.
ENOs are just fine. Maybe on the heavy side but I just don't own one as I prefer hammocks from cottage industry guys. Enjoy the comfort quest.
Exactly was I was looking for. Explained it well, and it made sense.
Good to hear that. Carry forth.
Huge help Shug!! I was struggling. Thank you!!
Glad to assist.
In the underquilt video in which you showed a Hudson River as a. UQ on your Blackbird, you tightened the foot side a d head side more to "bias" the UQ. Do you do the secondary suspension on the Incubator the same way? Tighten the foot side and right shoulder side more? Thanks
Yes, I sorta do.
@@shugemery thank you
Love the colors
Those colors feel warm without even being in it.
Encore très intéressant shug ! Je vais modifier mon under quilt maison avec le secondery suspension! Xxx 🎩🎩🎩😜😜😜 merci !
Il est facile d'identifier la suspension secondaire. Réaliser ...
I like the color scheme on the Under quilt
I am a fan of those colors for sure.
Great video! Your channel has been a great help for me!
Y'elcome and thankee.
today...11/18/16... your the main attraction on facebook..hammock gear... page... its a shug fest....thank you sir
Thankee.
Thanks!
Whoooooo Buddy)))))
Do you think that the bold inside color of the underquilt helps you to not sit on the underquilt when getting in the hammock?
I do think it helps.
Good points. I was just doing some modifications on my skeeter beeter hammock and my poncho under quilt. Getting the underquilt right was giving me a hard time but with your suggestions I think I can dial it in. Thanks Shug!!!
Good to know. Carry forth.
Shug...what are the dimensions do the primary, secondary end end shock cords. Never saw on their site and just wondering If any of the three should be upgraded to a bigger diameter.. in your opinion Thx.
I am not sure exactly. Best to ask Hammockgear.....sales@hammockgear.com
In your honest assessment using say a WBB XLC, would you prefer the winter wooki or the Incubator? Thanks for the great vids too.
I have an Incubator. I do not have a Wookie. So can't say 100%......Incubator will fir many hammocks though.
Good thing he makes up for it in all the infotainment
btw on a average Shug loadout, you could probably buy a nice used car XD
I think nerds are actually smart. I'm more in the dork catagorie. But smart enough to get a lot of free gear:::::::
I know I flip you a lotta what monkeys throw, but its only cuz you're awesome.
EnlightenedEquipment actually makes some fine quilts for those us us what can't afford monogrammed quilts btw.
Man I just checked out your Enlightened Equipment prices and was knocked out of my hammock. They are basically the same price or more for the plane Jane models I thought the way you were talking they were going to be at least a 25% difference. Personally I think they are all way overpriced and so do the Chinese. Perhaps we don't eat enough ducks and geese in North America!!
Sure would like one of them store bought under quilts, but for now a ol' sleepin' bag will do. Thanks Shug. ZZ.
ZZ outdoors for serious deep cold, a sleeping bag won't do unless you mod it into a peapod like Shug did
The pea pod was a little tight.Savin' up for a good quilt. Thanks for your reply. ZZ.
Yiou'll never look back after getting one and having it dialed in.
Thanks Shug, soon as I can. ZZ.
Very good review Shug! Have you ever tried the winter hammock sock? I may order one for this winter to help keep the wind off.
Thanks!!
Your videos are the best definitely unique
I am bowing here.
That set is $$$! lol Very nice. I have a snugpak underblanket and jungle quilt, prolly good down to around 45, their prices are amazing tho, quality not too shabby either. Ready to work on a better cold weather setup for sure.. cheers
Yessir. Warm = Happy
How did you get that custom work on your quilt that looks really cool also how much did it cost your for both those quilts custom like that.
Well.....I got the good friend/Shug deal as I have known Adam a long time...plus I wanted to help him with a Incubator adjustment video. So my deal was not what others would get.
***** Does Adam offer the multi color custom work to customers or only friends?
Best to ask him but I think he will do what you want.
Hey Shug....would it be safe to assume that the Ginger would be willing to doctor up my eurka full length underquilt?....
I can't say. Best to contact the Ginger.
Shug, How is it to side sleep in the fetal position in the incubator? Does the leg shelf get in the way at all or create a gap?
Many do it, so I read. Should be fine. Not a side sleeper myself. Best call Hammockgear and talk to them about though if really interested.
hey shug new subscriber and a little late for the show on this video but it helped alot.
Maybe try sliding it towards your head a wee bit. If that fails do the opposite.
@@shugemery perfect thank you will do
@@JTDOutdoors the "leg shelf" on the HG Incubator needs to be in the right place.
@@shugemery that's probably my problem will do some more tinkering after work today. appreciate the help shug
does the color of the underquilt have to match the colors of the top quilt?
you make helpful videos.
Nope. Choose whatever colors make you happy.
I have done it. Put the warmest against you and the hammock and put the second one on slightly looser to not compress the down.
Do you find the UQ messes with trying to get a good diagonal lay? I can't sleep in a hammock unless it's diagonally, so if the quilt isn't wide enough to accomodate my feet would likely come out at some point...can't have that.
I have never personally had that problem. I use a partial UQ most of the time with a Thermarest Sit-pad in footbox of my top quilt.
And I always sleep on a diagonal.
Hey Shug, did you order your incubator in a custom size at 72” long and 39” wide? I don’t see that length as an option on the website. Thanks
My measurements could be off. They did custom make it for me.
Starting my hammock adventure...this was helpful
