First off, I’ve never burst into tears while watching a vid, so I hope that’s an indication about how I feel about this vid. Masterful use of the ‘O Willow Waly’ lyrics over the ethereal ‘ohhhhhh’ that begins the song, which really just set my feels into motion. Then the shot of older Jamie waking up into the shot of the statue sleeping bringing us back in time, what a set up, and a really bold use of Dani in the lake when she says “Til my lover returns to me.” What makes this work so well for me is the pairing of the lyrics with their story, there are so many places where they intersect and each one is a small cut on my heart. “I had all and then most of you, some and now none of you. Take me back to the night we met.” “When the night was full of terrors and your eyes were filled with tears.” “I don’t know what I’m supposed to do haunted by the ghost of you.” Little cuts, slowly shredding my heart into pieces. 1:28 - 1:31, and the beat drop on Eddie the creepy ex. Perfection. I think the most difficult thing about vidding this show is making it about them but also flavoring it with the actual backdrop of the ghost story, and it works so well here and it doesn’t weigh you down with grief, like some vidders I know (side eyes myself). The music itself feels soothing, like I imagine Jamie would have been for Dani, in those moments when the scary reality of what would happen would overshadow the happiness they found. Like a comforting hand, and whispered words of “One day at a time, Poppins.” Anyways I love this with my shredded and bleeding heart.
The first time I watched this edit, I made the mistake of not really listening to the lyrics. After I had checked the lyrics, just how matched it matched the story of Dani and Jamie, it elevated this edit to a whole new level of amazing. Your talent to capture the emotion, that connection two people share, that bond between them, will always astonish me.
I spent many nights during December 2019 crying over the loss of a relative to this song, so it brings back memories, but this edit is absolutely amazing :) 💙 I'm adding it to my watch list lol. 🙌🙌
so this show ripped me apart, and your video so so beautifully captured why. you chose the PERFECT song for this and i can only say thank you for expressing your feelings in a way that will let others relive the beauty of this story again and again
I love this video, but I can’t watch the series, because it’s hard to get past the ghost to enjoy the love story. Living alone can do that to you. Beautiful couple tho.😉. I’m careful about the energy I allow into my life. Intriguing.🙂.
Its a beautiful series..sad but beautiful..even with the ghost.. the ghost represents the past that was made to live on and it protected the house and punished anyone who came against the house and its occupants. I loved the series and it spoke do much. Just shows how much ones past can haunt them so much they live in the present with the living..its almost a representation of actual life, our past hurt us so much that we end up making it harm and haunt our present , like hypothetically one almost got raped and its brought into their present
