    Nice, for the 2024 model I hope they change the rear mudguard to a (lot) more flexible type, that doesn't brake the whole rear plastic section at the first flip over.

    I wish it came with the option of removing half the battery for shorter rides. Pull 15 lbs off the bike when you don't need as much range. So two battery packs, like Zero had as an option.

    • @Bodie2020
      @Bodie2020 2 года назад +2

      Why. They are super light as it is. If you want to be a better rider wouldn’t you want the weight. I mean we ride bikes in hard enduro that are way way heavier for longer periods of time. If you are taking care of yourself low slung 15lbs are nothing.

    • @fprintf
      @fprintf 2 года назад

      Pretty good idea though honestly most people can usually lose 15 pounds off themselves before they need to start criticizing the bike.

    • @georgeslaurence9493
      @georgeslaurence9493 2 года назад +1

      Agree with removing 4kg off the bike with a half capacity battery, and the ability to buy a cheaper extra battery (weight / capacity ratio is not linear). I don't need 4-5 hours capacity.

    I am now riding an EM sidecar thats how good the batteries have become. I can let any "perspective customer" er new Trials rider have a go on an EM in green, or any seasoned Trial rider have a go in Blue, or the local hot shot in Red thats how versatile these bikes are. Good review as always, perhaps a ride with and without TKO so you don't get those dinosaurs commenting on how loud it is.

    Rode the 22 recently at IP, would have liked more comment about the anti roll back feature. I'd have thought that was a bigger/ better upgrade than a rear brake tip for example.

    • @TrialTube

      The mic isn’t turned up and they are pretty loud, but I think it helps transition from the combustion engine. If it was too quiet it would be hard to understand the Rev range!

  • @bevinjohnson1003
    @bevinjohnson1003 2 года назад +2

    Did you notice a difference in the throttle? Or a difference in the mapping/software? I have a 22 comp and find it difficult to hold pressure or back tire hop on this bike compared to my TRS.

    • @TrialTube
      @TrialTube  2 года назад

      So the throttle delivers the power in a more linear/ smooth fashion. I think most people would struggle to rear end hop the bike as the electric motion doesn’t deliver that “snap” when on the back wheel like a combustion bike.

    • @bevinjohnson1003
      @bevinjohnson1003 2 года назад +1

      @@TrialTube so it’s probably not worth getting the new throttle for me. I want a more aggressive bottom end low rpm, but I want less in the mid. (More like a gas engine)

  • @chriswesterhoff4915
    @chriswesterhoff4915 2 года назад +7

    Thanks for the review Danny! The biggest negative with these bikes for me (I have a 21 race model) is no gearbox. If they truly want to compete with the gas bikes they need a gearbox. It’s great that they have a clutch but when having to use it with such crazy tall gearing there is no real way to truly load the flywheel or get good lift out of the bike. It’s like riding in 5th-6th gear all the time on a regular bike. With the wide torque curve the electric motor has they could possibly get away with a 3 speed, two gears for in the sections and one tall gear for getting somewhere. A 4 speed would be the absolute max that would be required.
    I hate to bitch but manufactures need to hear this. We still need gears!

    • @georgeslaurence9493
      @georgeslaurence9493 2 года назад

      Hi, did you try a 61 teeth rear sprocket ? Green is becoming blue, blue => red, and red... something else ! Real challenge in mud.

    • @chriswesterhoff4915
      @chriswesterhoff4915 2 года назад

      @@georgeslaurence9493 Hi, no I haven’t. It has a 57 tooth sprocket and an 11 tooth front so changing to a 61 would be minimal. I was somewhat thinking about drawing a custom 110 tooth sprocket and having it cutout, once you go more than this it starts to get larger than the rear rim. Aside from causing all kinds of other practical problems like chain guides etc. I don’t think even this is enough reduction to truly be able to use flywheel inertia through the clutch. I’m sure the modes and mapping get better all the time. But this won’t do anything for the issue I have personally with the bike. It is overall a good bike, I just won’t be buying another electric trials bike until it has a gearbox on it.

    Is buying a 2nd hand 2022, getting software upgrade mapped and fitting a new brake tip (assuming the new one fits the old bike), going to be worthwhile? Only just come across this bike and started looking at videos, but seems like a few 2022 bikes are coming on the market and obviously the 2nd hand pricing is more attractive, but only if you can get it feeling better with upgrades.

    • @TrialTube

The bike you had was with a black rear sprocket so 59 teeth instead of 57 for the grey 2022 ? Not much but gives some extra punch. Nice review thanks ! Always a pleasure to watch your videos.

    Holy you were so off on this video. An outside observational tip I'd tell you is you were stretching this video out with conversation that was off and unenthusiastic. Keep to bullet points with commentating and on bike narration and showcasing changes/good points/bad points.....and just do more riding on the bikes so we can watch and compare for ourselves how they launch and where the power curve is and how much it wheelspins, how planted and balanced it looks, etc.

    • @TrialTube
      @TrialTube  2 года назад +3

      How was it different to other trialtubes? I always commentate on the bike. I always chat about the brand prior to testing. I always test in a real section.(Often used at a national level trials ground)
      Have you watched prior videos? My consistency is key. Also this video was made in a timeframe to fit inside my other work.

      @@TrialTubeyes im a subscriber and have watched all your other vids. Id say you were not enthused about this bike but had to do a review of it since it had been offered to you. But youre not a fan of electric yet and it showed but you didnt want to say bad stuff. And so it seemed stretched out more with really nothing said, or at least, nothing that could have been said in way less time in a few bullet points....then the remaining time could and should have been spent on more riding. Compare this video to your most recent, the RTL review, and you can see the difference in enthusiasm. Bottom line the electric review was bland all the way thru. So my suggestion is if it is hard to give a good review, just bullet point the good points/bad points and film more riding. Love all your other vids. Look forward to the RTL progress.

Switch to 250 if you need more poke and even up to 300 if you really want to push it!! Also less maintenance so nee time riding
