I like the small shop projects very much. Most of us hobbiest don't have power hammers. We just do small projects. I realize it's boring for more advanced Smiths. I miss projects like hook of the week. Thanks for your patience.

@xsro84, may I humbly suggest look up "366 hooks" by Cloverdale Forge out of Canada. Some of the hooks are simple, some are works of art, some use materials that can be a challenge. Might have to search with Google, then noodle out how the hook was forged, because there are no detailed instructions, just raw stock measurements & a finished picture. Great fun.

    John,
What a great little video. You’ve gone over all the elements you put into this in previous videos enough, that the brief descriptions for each step were the perfect amount for a reminder.
    Thanks for all you do.

Thank you so much for all the creative ideas you have given us. I have gone straight out to my shed and had a go at many of the projects you’ve shared. I apologise that I recently used your squirrel cooker on a competition show here in Australia. I’ve been making them for a while and when they themed the show camping what else could I make. Thanks again for the wealth of knowledge you have shared. Your are a genuine, honest and inspiring man!!!

Unsure if more or less twists would make much difference but that 1 1/2 twists seemed perfect for that sized handle and poker length.

I do like the hook on the fold and forge weld type poker. I think this could be modified, using a slitting chisel, to give that feature without welding.

Just a fire poker as presented, but I could see it turned into a skewer with some sanding and grinding at the business end. Would be similar to what I’ve seen at restaurants and on food shows.
