Imma be honnest, the using the woke kinda did it for me, since *I have eaten worst than expired mayo* and knowing how wokes are, that pancake was just gonna die.

I thought that a girl cooking badly in anime was fiction but kotoka manage to tick all the boxes and parody them : 1) black charred food 2) insert random stuff to a simple dish 3) used expired ingredient 4) taste questionable or terrible
@@frog5961 actually if the instant rice is available so close and has enough portion for her only with reasonable price, buying instant rice is much less hassle from cleaning up dishes for cooking and save gas/electricity. i used to live alone and cleaning tools to cook is annoying

They didn't really know how to control the induction stove's heat level. Add the fact that Kotoka doesn't have the right pan for the electric stove, they had to make do with the wok- there was a small pot but they ruined their first piece of pancake in it. Wok's heat conductivity is wildly different from a pan's, and they made the rookie mistake of pouring too much batter too. It's just a consecutive series of mistakes and disasters that resulted in the burnt pancake. The expired mayo is the final cherry on top.
