I performed this song tonight at a karaoke restaurant, and NO ONE had heard of it till tonight! That restaurant was full of smiles and hearty laughter!! Everyone asked me what it was from, and said that I gave them the best laugh ever! So glad I still remember this song after all this time!
Absolutely loved Beaches, would subject myself to this whenever I needed a good cry. However looking back at the great performances from Bette, just reminds you that they don't make performers like they used to.

This is possibly one of my favourite songs! Haha!!! I remember driving around with my friend who had the soundtrack and playing it really loudly and singing along to it! I'm sure we looked mad but it is so worth it!!! I love Bette!
True but still…in a way she IS underrated - she would have deserved more. More different kinds of roles and a larger audience. She is well known and very loved by her devoted fans - thank God for that! But for no reason she has been overshadowed by actresses like Goldie Hawn and Diane Keaton. Which is absolutely ridiculous. Bette is much better than those two combined! So yeah - she is kind of underrated. Just like one could say that Meryl Streep is a bit overreated. She’s amazing - but still. She is not better than Helen Mirren, Judi Dench, Kathy Bates - or Bette. But she is the most famous of them all. For some reason.
@@flav2689What on earth are you talking about? Bette Midler has had an amazing career and has played some incredibly iconic roles. Down and Out in Beverly Hills, The Rose, Big Business, Hocus Pocus, First Wives Club, Gypsy, Beaches, Ruthless People…the list goes on! She’s been revered, lauded, and respected and regularly working since she was discovered. She’s got Emmys, Tonys, Grammys, Golden Globes, and two Oscar noms. Almost anyone in the US and folks from all over the world know who she is. She’s literally never been underrated. 😂
So this isn't from a full musical? I've had that last line in my head for years and nobody could ever tell me where it was from. I've only found this video because I suddenly remembered Over Shoulder Boulder Holder. Thank you so much for uploading it!
Hahaha I totally just woke up today and this song was in my head. This is my favorite movie but I haven't seen it in like a year but yeah haha. Love this song. :)
I liked it when Bette said Otto tried his own two lips. The song is funny. Beaches could make you laugh, but the ending of losing a true friend was very sad and very emotional. I love this movie. Not only can Bette sing, she is really a gifted actress.
Ahhh I recall being about 12 or so (assuming this was around 88) and watching this movie & thinking, I am SO going to end up like whatshername (Barbara Hershey's character). True story. Lo & behold, 15 years later....brain tumor. But I'm cool now. Its just funny because I explicitly recall thinking that at the time.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ i absolutely luv this. 💗 i've known about it since the 90's & i jus played it for my Daughter (she's abouta b 17 next month) it made her laugh 😆👍 - i guess i'll just keep looking for a clear copy of this show. tho i doubt i'll find 1, since cameras weren't so great back then.. it's original date shoulda been included in the post, beneath this vid (js)
I love this, it's so funny and strangely catchy! Can you imagine if they were called titslings! lmao 'The result of this swindle is pointedly clear: Do you buy a titsling or do you buy a brassieeeeeeeeeeere?' my favourite bit
TV likes to screw around with movies like that, editing out bad language (like kids these days don't hear worse). If that's not enough, they have more frequent commercial interruptions the closer the movie is to the end. TV networks don't care about customers.
Bette Milder can do anything The Stepford Wives, The First Wives Club, Beaches, For The Boys, all of her movies are great and I would love to see Nicole Kidman and Bette Milder, Anne Hathaway, Reese Witherspoon in Wicked.

I wish I'd been there! I'm going to try it!!!
I’d LOVE to join you.
That's embarrassing
@@whereismyxanax why? It's a great song, I've got it on my Spotify playlist, when I hear it I think of this scene 😊
You actually performed this in karaoke? 🤣 That's awesome!
All these years later, this song still gets stuck in my head!
I used to run around grandma's house singing it when I was a mid-teen. It was on the original VHS, but I never saw it on television broadcasts.
Absolutely loved Beaches, would subject myself to this whenever I needed a good cry. However looking back at the great performances from Bette, just reminds you that they don't make performers like they used to.
I would watch this musical based on this song alone!
Don't bother, it's the only part of the movie worth watching.
Tom Evans no it’s not

Amazing, a truely talented woman =] xx
This should have literally 100 million views. Bette is a Genius.
I’m shocked at how often this very old song pops into my head! Classic.
This was my favorite song in third grade... My mom played the Beaches soundtrack a lot.
You had a good mum!
Holy shit me too drove me nuts 😅
This too often gets stuck in my head. It's when a kid asks you what you're whistling....
Still?
Years and years later this is still entertaining! Bette Middle is a genius 💖

She did a great job
I love this song! i listen to it at least once a week.
Do you mean "🎵at least twiiiiice a week🎵", lol 😆
i love this song!! She is one of my favorite singers of all time!
Have sung this so many times I know it by heart. Truly a great number.
Instead of remaking Beaches itself in 2017, someone needs to make this song into a real musical. And the sooner the better.
👏🏾😂
This is possibly one of my favourite songs! Haha!!! I remember driving around with my friend who had the soundtrack and playing it really loudly and singing along to it! I'm sure we looked mad but it is so worth it!!! I love Bette!
That entire song was set up for a single pun... god I love it.
i love her little accent and how quickly she sings!
Our Granny sold bras at Pazitz. We called them "over the shoulder boulder holders."

My boys and I would sing this song in the car. They both knew the words to it at a young age. Love Bette
Finally I can truly enjoy being named Otto
Clever song! She looks so adorable.
Bette is simply AMAZING!

I need a new over the shoulder boulder holder!
And for the gentlemen, there's the under the butt nut hut.
I loved this at six years old. I appreciated good art at a young age lol
Hahaha I totally just woke up today and this song was in my head. This is my favorite movie but I haven't seen it in like a year but yeah haha. Love this song. :)
I loooove this movie! This scene kinda reminds me of those really old snl 'bad musical' sketches. The ones with Dan Ackroyd.
Lol this will never get old

i hate that this part is edited out of the cable tv airings (lifetime, oxygen, etc)
Oh you mean "Victims with Vaginas."
Those women have no fucking sense of humor whatever.
It's the best part of the movie!

HA! This was one of my favorite songs when I was five! LMAO!
My 12 yr old asked me who invented bras so I showed her this video.
Ugh, that song is earworm hell.
Bette Milder can do anything The Stepford Wives, The First Wives Club, Beaches, For The Boys, all of her movies are great and I would love to see Nicole Kidman and Bette Milder, Anne Hathaway, Reese Witherspoon in Wicked.

Great song. Was it written especially for the film?
The Devine Miss M. Enough said!
I still prefer the version from Bette's album "Mud Will Be Flung Tonight," but regardless, it never gets old.
This is so funny. Do you by chance have any clips from Hocus Pocus?? I so love that movie.
