  • BIG INK (www.bigink.org) prints large-scale woodblocks on The Big Tuna press at 3S Artspace in Portsmouth, NH, on August 27 and 28, 2023. Featuring artists Gretchen Woodman, Heather Hughes, Jennifer Benn, Ronald Pacacha, Le Huong Huynh, Emily Noelle Lambert, and Mary Mead. Special thanks to 3S Artspace for hosting.       @@duffy666 it would be amazing to go to Germany. So much of the history of print originates from there. I'll scope out whether there's a press big enough around where you live. Would you happen to know of a place?

      @@BIGINK I can ask around, however such presses as large as your are very rare... was Big Tuna a custom build?

      ​@@duffy666 some pieces were made by a manufacturer, and others by us. The bed is 4 by 8 feet in dimension. Hopefully, a place in Germany comes to mind. Please keep us in the loop!

    What kind of wood do you use for your works? It looks like plywood in video but I'm not sure. It would be awesome if you could deliver a workshop in Italy too. I live near Florence.

      Our preferred substrates are Cherry Plywood, Shina Plywood, and Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF). It would be amazing to deliver a workshop in Florence. Do you know of any art center's that have a big press? Ours is four by eight feet or 1.21 by 2.43 meters.
