If you look, both Bowers and Washington often played in the same snaps. UGA seemed to do plays with two TEs on quite a few occasions.
Bowers was their receiving focused TE.
Washington was their blocking focused TE.
This setup seemed to work quite well for them.
Not really a backup, Georgia just made the 12 personnel set their mainstay because no team could dream to match up with Washington and Bowers at the same time. They are both unicorns, it was a privilege to get to watch them take the field together last season.

Kincaid, not a chance. Kincaid is just a heavy WR and that's it. He's got no real blocking ability. Plus, he currently has a back fracture that is taking ages to heal and is not even a sure thing to be ready for the season opener, leading to many having doubts about his long-term health.

Life is funny. I loved the idea of Pittsburgh having an “Agent 0” on the field. I thought maybe that guy was going to be Gonzalez, and was kinda bummed it wasn’t. Then JPJ fell to 32 and this guy fell to 93. I got my top-flight CB, and my “Agent 0” in the form of this freak.
Most of us Dallas Cowboys Fans want a RB with the 1st pick...but me...I want Darnell Washington with the 1st pick...he's a beast at TE/6th OL I've seen at his position in a long time! Monster weapon for Dak and a very rare player!
I don’t get why? You guys have Tony pollard who’s a stud. You can draft a rb in the later rounds to go with him.
My favorite prospect in the entire draft and I’d love to have him in the 1st… if Zay Flowers Bijan or Jalen Carter don’t fall.

Just freakishly athletic ability and a complete mismatch nightmare for defenses. The biggest thing to me is his blocking though, the guy would help in the run game so much.

@@andrewramirez8822 nooooo rashan Garry is coming back and tbh we have nothing at wideout or tight end, he’s the PERFECT weapon to have for loves first year, and extra o line men as well, we run the ball so good and that only helps. Green MUST get this dude to change there offense, if he obviously gets took then I think an edge rusher would be number 2 but a weapon for jordan is a NECESSITY nothing less.
My Bengals could use his talents.

Really...No-Brainer huh? Well let's just see how many of the GMs paid millions to draft these players agree with you. I'll bet you a wooden nickel he goes AFTER the mid second round. Probably around pick #50 or later. If you've run the mocks you know that his positional value displaces him a bit. With his ranking in the class he is surrounded by top tier DL and OL prospects, not to mention your top 3 LBs will likely go in the 2nd as well as at least two RBs and at least 2 WRs...I get the vision,yeah it'd be awesome to have an extra OT on the line who can also catch well enough to keep the defense honest. I really dont think he goes first round though. We're he in last years draft he may have been one of the first TEs off the board.

I’m praying the bengals scoop. Gives em a 6th lineman. U can stack him with Orlando and have crazy runs up the C gap, motion him around, use him for pass block, and he’s got hands.

@@DwightCarterJr Plus, he's good at run-blocks, so he'd improve our team's run-game as well. On top of that, pretty much any 50/50 ball will be a 90/10 ball when it heads his way as he both towers over most DBs AND has enormous reach with large hands. The dude is built to be an unfair receiver. 🤣

His numbers aren’t great because he say behind the best TE in college football and he played a power blocking / seem route role and did very good at it. He did everything the coaches asked of him to win the natty and I believe he can have a more productive in the league as a TE1
You can only imagine what his career in college would've looked like if he wasn't behind bowers....

Patriots at 14, Bill O’Brien wants that double TE with Hernandez and Gronk again. He could have that with Washington and Gesicki. Let Henry play out his contract and you got that youngest nastiest TE Duo. That’s history Repeating itself. Just without the serial killer thing. Draft Darnell at 14 then Draft Flowers at 46 and trade for Jonah Williams to fill that LT spot. Boom Offense is back to being explosive.

A tackle that can't move laterally, a tackle that is easily overpowered by guys smaller than him, is stiff in the hips and can't move side to side, is DEAD slow in routes and literally had ONE go-to move (run 5 yards up field and sit down in a hole), but yeah, sure, draft away fellas! I'm sure they'll be lined up around the block to pick the next Brandon Pettigrew. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Saw his Combine performance and thought he did well. Moved the sled as if it was on wheels. And the one-handed grab? He’s going to be a special player regardless of who drafts him.

You can build the entire Defense next year. But this year you run 12 Personnel with Washington and Goedert, Rashad Penny and Jalen Hurts.

He's not a unicorn because his change of direction is terrible.. He is a good blocker, vertical seem threat, and red one target.
But a unicorn is someone who can do it all at that size
What else he supposed to do to be a unicorn? For they type of TE he’s going be he’s the perfect unicorn he more of a blocking td that can actually beat you on routes, body you the the end zone, he’s perfect for 2 point conversions, a player like this can have the Steelers really open up their playbook and get creative big time unicorn.

I'd draft this guy in the mid to late 20's of the first round as a RT alone. Go big set and run the ball against anyone. The pass catching IMHO vaults Washington easily among the top 15 players in the draft. Randy Moss-like at the TE position.
