Great reaction! Yes, definitely a side of Courtney Hadwin most people hadn't seen yet. I thought it was very daring at the time. She had just gone independent and had never released an original song nor a concept video before. The prevailing image of her was the wild rocker girl from AGT. But it was really well received. Her first two songs, Breakable and That Girl Don't Live Here, were in different ways telling the story of her relationship with the music industry and declaring her independence. Have you heard Call Me Back and/or Christmas Rocks yet? They're the 3rd and 5th song she released last year, Monsters was 4th. She's done an amazing job of showing different sides of herself, as an artist and a person. The last month or so have been a thrilling time for Courtney and her fans. Last month she sang the opening song at a star studded show at Carnegie Hall, then traveled with her producer Kevin Bowe to his studio in Minnesota to finish recording her long awaited debut album, which should be out soon. There are some wonderful clips of all this on her RUclips and other social media. She also started a new and easy to navigate website, which includes pages for tour dates and merch, just waiting for their first posts. Thank you for this reaction, really enjoyed it and look forward to more.
Hi. Cool reaction. So great that you had a chance to hear one of Courtney's Ballads and got to hear what a truly gorgeous voice she has. Up until now, you've only reacted to a couple of her uptempo songs. This highlights so well the tremendous vocal versatility that Courtney has. She can sing pretty much anything, from Rock, to R&B, Funk, Soul and Ballads and more. She even had a TikTok opera clip go viral. The thing is, even across so many genres, there never is any drop off in the quality of her music. Her transitions between styles are simply exquisite. Virtually all artists, even the biggest, have their comfort zone. Inside that zone, they are great, but take them outside that zone, and not so much. We've yet to see where Courtney's comfort zone ends. It's why so many of us consider Courtney a true generational level talent. Courtney went through hell to start getting her original music out. First, her label, for years trying to turn her into something she didn’t want to be. Another pop princess. Can you imagine that magnificent voice you just heard being limited to just pop, but there’s more. Of course, there was Covid, which delayed her album release for more than two years. Then her label was sold, creating even more chaos. At the beginning of 2023, as soon as she could, she walked away from her label and went independent. Courtney has a huge song library that she hasn't been able to release because of the reasons described above, but she has shared many of them, in whole or in part with fans, and they are all sensational. She is such a powerhouse as a songwriter. Since she has gone independent in 2023, she has already released five mind blowing originals. You've reacted to three of them. (Monsters, THat Girl Don't Live Here and Breakable). You've yet to react to two of her other 2023 originals. 'Call Me Back', which will rip your heart out every time you hear it and 'Christmas Rocks', an uptempo, rocky Christmas song that simply will not allow you to stay still when listening. Both are on her YT channel. When Courtney is in control of her own destiny, amazing things happen. Now that she's independent, she has said to expect a release every month or two. She also just finished the recording for her debut album, and based on what she has shared to date, it will be epic. So buckle up. It's going to be an incredible ride. I can't wait to hear you react to more of Courtney's music. Most recent big news in Courtney world. On April 29th, the New York Pops honored Clive Davis with a huge concert at Carnegie Hall. Everyone who is anyone in music was there. Courtney was invited to open the show. She blew off the roof and doors and brought the entire audience to their feet at Carnegie in a standing ovation to a rip roaring, stage dominating rendition of Janis Joplin's 'Piece of my Heart'. Janis was Clive's first signee. It was mind boggling. The New York Pops released an 2+ minute clip of her performance. In a little over a day, it has over a million views. It is spectacular. Courtney has posted the clip to her YT channel and it would make an incredible reaction. Looking forward to you hearing it.
Thank you for this reaction! It's easy to forget that THIS, 'Breakable', was Ms. Courtney's FIRST release after that long frustrating gap where seemingly EVERYTHING got broken in some way or other. The first new original song we'd heard from her since the dream of what her professional life would be after her true debut performance, AFTER AGT and after ...Champions, scheduled on the BIG stage on Saturday at the huge 'Woodstock 50' celebration. Yanno, the one that went belly-up and canceled on all the acts in final weeks. How different life would have been if we'd gone INTO the pandemic with Ms. Courtney's debut appearance at Woodstock 50 and debut album both fresh in our minds, available to get us through all those long, strange days as the world seemingly stopped for a bit. I absolutely LOVE Ms. Courtney's vocal versatility, and REALLY love her unadorned singing voice. Of course I also love those black-church gospel-derived vocal squalls and the rock growl that grew out of it back in the 1950's and 60's. She does them all SO WELL! I really wish that a bunch of those old rock bands, the ones I grew up with, and then the 'kids' (like Mick Jagger) that learned from them and came up in the 1970's and 80's, could hear this young artist now. She's phenomenal. And I swear, when she gets used to those long full stadium concert-length sets and the size of those crowds, I swear she'll have that magic connection with her audience that Freddy Mercury did, that Ms. Tina Turner had. This kid, still learning as she is at the old age of 20 now (6 July 2024), is truly a stupendous ROCKSTAR in the making. I wish she could get some coaching time with both Keith Urban (another with amazing connection to his audiences, and with a surprisingly wide and deep understanding of rock music in all its forms, and an EXCELLENT history of coaching youngsters) and Paul Stanley (KISS' Starman), to work on getting up to speed on the hard life of a touring pro. There's much she yet needs to learn. Ms. Angelina Jordan and Ms. Daneliya Tuleshova could learn a LOT from Keith Urban too. Still. Ms. Courtney Hadwin: young GenZ Superstar! Hmmm...as to Ms. Angelina Jordan, AJ, she could SERIOUSLY use some in-depth counseling from both Keith Urban and his wife Ms. Nicole Kidman (Mrs. Urban as she's at least once called herself), given AJ's exceptional genetic heritage and extreme talent. AJ combines a young Rachel Welch, some young yet old-souled Duchess from some long line of royalty, a bit of Priscilla Presley, and a ton of Amy Winehouse, but with the vocal talent, skills, and knowledge of probably the most amazing vocalist you've ever heard in your life. AJ and 'Nic' (as Keith talks about her) can share 'tall girl' stories. Hollywood will be breaking down AJ's door ASAP if her uncle/Manager can't protect her well enough. Especially since she's right there in SoCal now with her family and her new-ish music production studio. These kids are ALL amazing! Wonder if super-busy folks like Keith and Nicole could somehow be convinced to run a 'young superstar' summer camp for these three youngsters I call the Queens of GenZ music: Courtney (just now 20yo), AJ (18.5yo), and DANELIYA (just now 18yo). If I won a lottery, I might try to find out. These particular kids deserve all the help they can get! I'm pretty sure that, worldwide, since they were each little children, these three have each had AT LEAST 2 BILLION views each, possibly as many as 4 BILLION for Courtz and maybe AJ. The pump is primed. The audience exists. That fuse just has to be lit with enough resources, time, teams and support to get these three launched properly as the adults they're becoming. With REALLY OLD SOULS!! And a LOT of experience for their age!
Beautiful and emotional song by Courtney and a fantastic video! Thanks for the great reaction.
