That's a nice place where you fly your drones! I've been flying my Mini 2 for some time now, and all I could tell you is that this drone is truly amazing it's well my money's worth!
Thank you for the shout out Steve. Your gimbal on the X8 Mini appears to be more stable than my experience. The issues with FPV you saw on the Fimi were interesting, as mine has been quite good in that regard. I did see the tilted horizon on the Mini 2. How un DJI like. 😎
You’re very welcome. I thought the Fimi was less tilted this time too. The FPV stuttering seemed to occur on the Mini 2 so I’m guessing there was some sort of interference that was present on the last flight at the park. The tilted horizon could be following my door frame incident lol. It never looked damaged though and I recalibrated the gimbal with a spirit level. There’s no way I’ve found yet to recalibrate my paranoia lol.
It's hard to be pitted against something as solid and reliable as the the DJI Mini 2. In my opinion, the Fimi X8 Mini still has a long way to go for it to be on par with the DJI Mini 2 but it's on the right track to being a good drone.
Yeah there are bugs to be ironed out but I think Fimi will do that. The Mini 2 is great. I just wish they add some of the missing features that only Fimi and Hubsan seem willing to bring us.
I was this close to getting the Fimi mini but I changed my mind at the last minute and got the DJI mini2 instead. Turns out I got lucky I picked the better drone!
My Hubsan zino 2+ was locked in on my landing pad, but was coming down no wear near it, in fact it would have come down on the roof if I hadn’t stopped it, the latest firmware update seems to have made it worse,
Yes the dji mini has horizon tilt as well. I have not seen that before on mine but I live in hilly area. I'm going to check that out the next time I fly. Is that a cell tower behind you?
That’s a good point about cell phone tower. I have recently been getting 5G signal in the town centre but I’m not sure I’ve had it in the park before. I’m not even sure that would interfere with the signal but who knows.
Thankx mate for sharing again. It Looks like you need a gimbal horizon calibration. the horizon was in the beginning not horizontal. I hope they fix that
The fimi is OK and has a few more features but for me it would be the mini 2 all day long and one reason for this is that if there's an issue with dji products they are straight on it to fix but with other makes your left hanging so as far as dji there support is second to none. Great video steve as always 👍
Thanks very much. Yeah I think for reliability you have to go with DJI. I think Fimi do try to support but it means sending it back to China rather than local support if you encounter issues.
Yeah and unless you absolutely need to be below 250 grams the best overall compact drone is still the Mavic Air 1, you have have it with you on all your outings and it does everything you would ever want and has full Litchi compatibility too.
The Mini 2 video footage is not so much vibrant than Fimi, but it looks to have more natural colors. Maybe it's also related to the white balance settings of both. Also, the clouds I would say are not so washed-out at the Mini 2 footage. Interesting is that your Mini 2 shows a tiled horizon, gimbal calibration or at least a manual correction is maybe needed?
I’m surprised by that. Most other videos I’ve seen have been better horizon than on mine. I seem to be getting horizon issues on everything lately though lol.
@@alphace that doesn’t sound good. I never managed to get WiFi working but I haven’t tried it again since I first got it. I have managed to take pictures fine though. It sounds like it’s worth contacting fimi support.
Great work! I'll watch this when RUclips renders it in 4K....just a quick tip: it's best to leave it as unlisted when upload the video, that way it will be available in 4K when it's live
Thanks very much. Yeah I did used to do that but since the Fimi videos have been so popular I’ve just been setting them to go straight away. It’s interesting to know I had been doing it right previously lol.
Zino mini is ok but It still falls under a budget toy drone.. my other issue is if there is problems with a DJI drone customer service is great. Zino not so great I feel if you have an issue your kinda in your own
I haven’t had to deal with Hubsan other than return something to Amazon and I got a full refund. I expect DJI customer service is better as you say. Not sure the Zino Mini will be a toy grade drone though. Quite clearly this competes very well with the Mini 2 on specs but we have to see it in reality yet.
It’s confusing because this time all the settings were reset so the Mini 2 should be same as out of the box. Maybe it’s my gimbal. The paranoia is returning lol.
@@StevesDrones It's so unusual for the Mini 2 to have gimbal tilt. Maybe it was just having a bad day. It's jealous of the Fimi Mini so it's giving you attitude. 😊
@@jetmartin9501 Actually I have noticed in several videos on several RUclips channels that the DJI also has a tilted horizon regularly. (As well as the Fimi has) Here for example: ruclips.net/video/X35C6_AZC-g/видео.html
@@bnwgraaf Wow that was a pretty severe tilt! Surprisingly the Fimi Mini was looking pretty straight flying in the same conditions. Everyone seems to turn a blind eye when DJI has issues like this. Maybe the Gimbal motors are able to fight the wind? Or maybe it needs a good calibration.
typical chinese tech, let the early birds iron out the inevitable teething troubles. gonna give it 6 months, get the orange one with pro battery, should be ok by then...
Yeah it seems that way. I got my X8 SE 2020 later and it has been pretty reliable from first flight. Apart from the first flight I have felt that the Fimi Mini has become reliable. I now just get it out and fly it. No warning messages or anything like that.
We can’t do range tests in the UK. The terrain around here won’t be any good for it anyway. You need line of sight to the drone to get a good signal. Any obstacles such as hills will cause issues for the signal. I managed to get over 1km up the beach though without any issues so I’m sure it would do a good distance.

The Mini 2 is definitely a good drone. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with it.

Hopefully they get that issue sorted and for the Zino Mini Pro.
That typical with the Zino product line . It seems like when they come out with a firmware update it only makes it worse

Both drones have had gimbal calibrations done so I don’t think it’s that.

Everything was set in auto on both and the gimbal was calibrated on both too. All settings were stock settings basically.

Does it have any geofencing
It says it does but I haven’t encountered it. I probably haven’t flown in an area that would have triggered it though.

Lol probably likely
Do mavic pro vs mavic mini 2
Yeah that’s a good idea. I think the sensors are are the same size but the lens can manual focus on the Mavic Pro.

Hi How can I rate this now if you need to look in 360p
It’s because RUclips takes time to process the 4K version. It will be in 4K at some point today.
Don't be greedy...you know the UK only get's 30 mins of sun per day. 😁
Yeah just not all at the same time. I think I got 15 mins of that days allocation lol.
