    LOL Steve, I can tell you it's like Monsoon season here in Ireland too, reminds me of the Philippines.....other than it being damn cold. Great upload 👍

      Thanks very much. Yeah I guess that’s why it’s so green both in Ireland and here. It has also been very cold too for this time of year but I’m not sure if I’m just imagining that.

    You need to drop the transmitter on the ground when using active track. Using follow mode follows the controller.

    • @StevesDrones
      @StevesDrones  3 года назад

      It was active tracking. I did exactly the same in the following video and that was with a more powerful phone and it had no issues active tracking with that phone.

    You really had to work through some drone issues during thi video, good job handing in there. But I think if the tracking feature is really important to you, the Fimi is better choice over the DJI MIni 1 and the Litchi app.

    • @StevesDrones
      @StevesDrones  3 года назад

      I tested it with a galaxy s10 and it works pretty well on that with litchi. I would say the Fimi is still better overall on tracking but it’s the reliability and lack of multiple battery issue for a lot of people.

      So i should get Mini 1? As i need a good quality drone with good app

    Lucky escape steve lol stick to the dji fly app I did want to put litchie on me mini one think ill give that a mis now and the active track was awful think you should had tryed the follow mode lower however entertaining 😁😁👍

    • @StevesDrones
      @StevesDrones  3 года назад

      The hover setting was the only real issue with litchi. The tracking is really all about your phone. So a galaxy S10 would work fine but my Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro struggled. It’s definitely a good alternative to the issues of the Fimi Mini.

      i use litchi with my old Mavic air and it works fin apart from a strange warning that wont go away but never affects the flight good video.

      johnny mac26 yeah I always used to get the strong wind warning on Mini 1. Never found it to really be much of an issue.

    That was a bit of a laugh ;-) If you haven’t tried it get a used Air 1, best portable drone by a country mile, no need for the RC, brilliant Gesture Control, tracking, Litchi compatible, etc…just a bit let down by its battery life but it’s still better than the Spark.

    • @StevesDrones
      @StevesDrones  3 года назад

      Yeah I have thought of trying it and the spark. I was focusing on sub 250g on the channel lately because of the issues with flying a larger drone for beginners.

    Let's face it... it's all about the camera. After all... that is why you buy a "Camera Drone". Many will pontificate that the Fini X8 Mini has far superior specs than the Mavic Mini... That may be correct on paper. But hands down the camera quality on the DJI Mavic Mini is light years ahead of the X8 Mini. I think that the Hubsan Zino Mini Pro will fall into the same abyss !! The proof is in the pudding and to date (regrettably) no one can touch a DJI product for quality. 🍻

    • @StevesDrones
      @StevesDrones  3 года назад

      I think you are correct for the moment. I guess it’s more of a drone for those on a very tight budget. It’s a shame as except for a couple of issues with mine I would be overall very happy with it. I think we need to see how the Zino Mini Pro does. Maybe it will surprise us. I am still impressed with the video quality on the original Zino.

      @@StevesDrones : Agreed... except for a few nagging issues the Fimi Mini could be a contender. But those issues, Fimi has known about for years and still have fallen short on resolving. I think I will battle through 2 more updates, then I'll probably sell it.

    Sorry there's nothing underneath it just a hyper drone it moves to much i want to buy me one but that's the only thing I don't like , almost in every video I see it going way up, jumping, toilet bowling, all hyper can't stay in one smooth position like the mavic mini. But your drone looks 👀like is flying perfect 👌 I'm thinking is the firmware or something I can't ve the drone. 🤔

    • @StevesDrones
      @StevesDrones  3 года назад

      It seems to fly pretty well but the fogging in the lens is annoying. If I can solve that it might end up being a good drone but still no sign of pro battery to get into the 250g range and also no sign of additional batteries at all.

      @@StevesDrones Hi Steve I had fogging problem with the FIMI x8 Mini nearly every time . It’s easily solved by storing the drone in food storage box with sealable lid and some colour changing Silica Gel and store in a warm place . This will keep it nice a dry and you won’t get anymore fogging problems .

    • @StevesDrones
      @StevesDrones  3 года назад

      Graham Brooks interesting I will give that a go. I only had the fogging issue the first time I flew it and the last time lol. It was fine in between. I put it down to more moisture in the air but I’m not sure. Your idea sounds good though and worth a try.

    which Drone is less noisy, it seems to me like the Fimi mini is pretty quiet

    • @StevesDrones
      @StevesDrones  3 года назад

      It is pretty quiet yes. I wouldn’t say either of the DJI Mini drones are particularly noisy though. I’m not sure which is quieter. I never considered it to be an issue really.

    dronelink . com supposedly is the best new 3rd party "active track" app for the original Mavic Mini. try it out.... (The Mini 2 and the Mavic Air 2S are not supported yet)

    • @StevesDrones
      @StevesDrones  3 года назад +1

      Interesting. I’ll have to take a look at that. Seems pretty pricey though. Litchi seems to work better with a galaxy s10 than my Xiaomi.
