How to Fix Nvidia Shield Pro Stuck on Android Logo - Factory Reset without Remote

- How to Fix Nvidia Shield TV Pro (2017 model) that won't boot past Android Screen
1. Ensure Shield is Plugged into TV with HDMI
2. Plug a micro USB cable into a running PC/Laptop
3. Plug power cord into Nvidia Shield
4. As soon as the Shield lights up with the green lights press and hold the Shield's power button (bottom right corner - it doesn't really look like a button) for approx 7 seconds, at which point you should see the TV screen change to an options menu
5. Tap the Shield's power button repeatedly to get to the bottom option "Factory Data Reset"
6. Long press on "Factory Data Reset "
7. Long press to confirm
8. Factory Data Reset will begin. It could take a couple of hours - go outside or something and check back later!
Before doing this you could attempt to force it to Factory Reset using the Controller. In my case my Nvidia Controller was not connecting to the Shield.

Ive done this process a few times and after a few months, it reverts back to the logo screen. I didn't want to keep setting up all my apps so I just got a Fire TV and moved on.
That's too bad! It's been a one time fix for me so for... knock on wood
I don’t have a pc or laptop and myn is not turning on 😢
Rats! You might have to find a laptop to borrow to attempt this fix. If your unit isn't turning on at all tho, that's a different issue. If it's completely dead I would start by trying a different power cord.

That's the 2015 model not the 2017
I'm not an Nvidia expert, but I think this is the 2017 Pro. The 2017 Pro comes in the same case as the 2015. The non-pro 2017 model has the smaller case size.
@@koreyfreemanofficial Both 2017 versions are smaller and lack both the micro SD and micro-USB ports, helpful video and will help some but not those with 2017 models
According to everything I have seen online the 2017 Pro has the larger case of the 2015 model due to the larger 500Gb hd. It def makes it confusing!
You're right, there was a 2017 pro edition with 500gb but it was discontinued early in it's life cycle. Yes it's very confusing and you have a collector's edition, lol
