Yeah, really strange to see both of the systems going at the same time. We switched to the PMX here in Winnipeg in Sept 97 as well (probably was done across the country in a short amount of time)

I know... it's like worlds are colliding in this forecast, lol. Both the PMX and WeatherSTAR 4000 in one!
Actually I remember they started to use the PMX around mid-1997 on the forecasts that came from master control in Montreal such as the Travellers Forecast, I think. It wasn't until Sept. 97 that our WeatherSTAR was replaced by the PMX locally in Kingston.

And then there were other instances where prior to mid-1997, the master control used the WeatherSTAR 4000 while the data locally was the PMX-1500 for certain cities and provinces/territories that got the PMX early on their cable headend around 1996 or so.

I think it was the standard intro music to the EarthWatch travellers forecast during the spinning globe era.

Shut up; I closed my old account and opened a new one.
Anyway, did they play this ("Goin' Steady" with the background) with the WS4000 graphics before summer '97? I actually can't remember.
