Why do they make it subjunctive? Shouldn't it be "Quelle est la chose la plus folle que vous *avez* faite"?

the point is 'que' , if u use a verb after 'que' as complement ,that verb must be subjunctive

hi ! could u explain this further? sometimes it really confuses French learners a lot , I know the verb should be subjunctive if we r expressing ‘need,desire...etc’ but sometimes I just don’t really get it when talking to French people just need a little tips :)
Superlative in french is followed by the subjunctive. "la plus folle" is a superlative hence it's gotta be followed by the subjunctive
La chose la plus folle que J'ai fait, il a été quand j'avais 16 ans. J'avais l'habitude de faire de la jogging, et jouer au football il a été interdit par le professeur parce qu'on pouvais nous blesses en jouant. Également j'avais un bon ami et je l'ai dit un jour que Je voulais jouer au football et le professeur n'allait pas se rendre compte mais afin il s'est rends compté et on a fait 500 "push ups" avec mon ami parce que ce le "punishment" mdr haha

Because judging something as "the best" or "the most crazy" etc is mostly an opinion and not a straight up fact.
E.g. "C'est le meilleur enseignant que je connaisse." - "He's the best teacher I know."
It helps to remember that "subjunctive" and "subjective" are closely related words.

i know this is a old comment but its because of the "que"
David Heelon That's not enough to require the subjunctive in and of itself, unfortunately, and there are cases where it's used without a "que". There needs to be an element of doubt, emotion or opinion.
Compare:
"Je suis sûr qu'il est là" - no doubt - indicative
"Je doute qu'il soit la." - doubt - subjunctive

It means "you have" but instead of avez he uses the subjunctive ayez, so less certain

Stéven Morand Salut Stéven, je sais que c'est incorrect, toutefois il n'est pas complètement interdit de le dire de la vie de tous les jours selon moi. On dit bien : "j'ai fait une chose folle".
Sache que je défend la langue française! ^^ Mais je comprends que tu le mentionnes.
