hey... just out of curiosity... why not run it from the top? I've found that its easier and have options for any future remodeling you may want by going through the top. Plus you wont have any wires running across the wall, in case you want to put a nails, screws or whatever. I've seen cases where people have paid the price for doing work like this. Didn't end well as you can imagine. Please remember where the wires are. Be careful. Take care! Keep working hard and smart! Never give up! Have a blessed life! -J
Awesome job guys. It looks good. I think paneling is the best idea. It's lighter, easier to work with, won't crack, and holds up better against moisture- perfect for a shed conversion. Great start on the electrical.
Well that settles the debate then! LOL The paneling is twice the price right now over drywall (eek), but really does have better qualities! Angela wins. Hahaha :)
@@sam-and-angela It may be twice the price, but it's half the work since you don't have to mud it. :D I know someone who did drywall in a shed and the seams are cracking from the shed settling.
I am totally new to electric work, it has always scared me a bit, to be honest, but you guys have broken it down into separate steps that aren't intimidating at all. Thanks for teaching us. God Bless.
I have been watching many videos for an upcoming shed conversion including adding electrical. This is the first that I've had mention the nail stops. Learn something new every time, I sure wouldn't want to be hanging something and hit a live wire 😊.
It is beyond refreshing to watch a husband and wife team, working together on a project, who still like each other at the end of the day. YAY YOU TWO!!!! Looking forward to the next one. XOXOX
That's some fancy wiring y'all have there!! Glad you're showing and explaining for those who may not know what y'all are doing... I'm loving these videos and Angela is #/1 in lol thanks for the videos!!
I am so excited for you! I can't wait to see all that you do to convert this building. I have one and it needs the inside done. Right now it is being used for storage but I want a workshop. God Bless
If you look back with your gardens, roof, greenhouse, inside soap room, & kitchen update you guys have done a ton this year. Wow you are full steam ahead!
Party in the Soap Shack! I'm so amazed how easy you made that look! Of course, it's not if you DON'T know what you're doing. That would be me. 🙋♀️ I stay away from electric and gas. I can't wait to see this all come together. You both are awesome to watch; looking forward to the next step.
I tell you what, I’ve never done or seen anything like this done before and now I’m ready to get my hands dirty. The fact that she did most of the on camera work let me know that this is something that I can do with no problems
Great work, Angela! I was going to ask about the roof also...I thought maybe I had missed it. I know with all of the crazy way things are right now, it is hard to plan anything. I love metal roofs...We have had them for 50 years!
Sam and Angelia I love your videos. In fact, I watched this one twice and I kept saying to myself something is missing. And then it came to me....tool belt! Angelia needs a tool belt she cant be working in the trades without one.
Great video, Great teamwork. Looking forward to seeing the next one. Thank goodness my puter is back from being repaired. I missed you and others I am subbed to. Take care. Hugs Carole in UK.
Just a little tip, cut a piece of wood the height of your outlets and switches make sure it’s square and go around and mark all of the outlets and switches. No measuring needed. Your building is not to big so I guess it probably didn’t take you to long but when your doing a basement, addition, or house it saves a ton of time. Thank you for sharing your video.
The big question is will you install your outlets right side up or upside down? (Reference DIYfferent and Stone House) 🎶What would you do with a drunken sailor...🎶
Hi guys. I follow a couple of other channels. They remind us constantly to like the video because it helps. You might want to mention this more articulately if it helps with monetization. Cheers.
The actual clicking of the 'like' or 'dislike' buttons do not affect the revenue of a video. The only metric it has influence over (and of exactly how much is unknown) is the likelihood of RUclips to suggest the video to other people to watch it. There are other stronger metrics that drive this suggestion part which are better in our opinion. Watch time, audience retention, etc. There's actually a lot of good tools for creators to see how their videos are (or aren't) performing well. :) We don't like being that pushy or begging of sorts for the likes and telling people to subscribe. We do it some, but it's not something we drive home in every video. :) We figure if people like it, they'll click the buttons. Thank you so much for caring enough to say so! And for being a channel member!
Awesome job guys! Angela, you always impress me. Nothing is too much for you. I'm terrified of electrical and never did anything like you did. I know the electricity is not on or running through the wiring but it's the thought. LOL I had a bad electrical shock as a child and never forgot it. OUCH!! Lol Loving the Soap Shack. TFS guys! :)
My dad had a tool that would let you hold the wire staple and not hit your fingers. I think he got it back in the late 60s and I have never seen one since.
Friends by electric code they require a discount on your water heater so a technician can work on it if need be but you’re case y’all can slide some 1/2 flex over the wire and into the wall and then into top of the WH just for protection of the wire also don’t forget countertop plugs should be gfci protection
Rough electrical , ? , In gb it's known as first fix . Angela is real handy at DIY , been taught well by Sam ! . Don't forget to put a cushion in there for your pantaloons chicken , not seen it following you around for a while . . 😉 . Keep up the excellent work and content guys 👍 👍 👌 .
Loved the music What Shall We Do With A Drunken Sailor. Haven't heard that in a long time. I thought the fiddler was really good. A really old old tune that is. Maybe just install a switched outlet in the ceiling for the lights. Most all shop type lights have a provision to just plug them in and LED type are daisy chained one to another. But if you are planning an enclosed ceiling and to use recessed can lights then you need more planning into the separate locations. You might also consider outside electrical needs like an outlet and service light.
We're going to be using some recessed LED lights originally purchased during our kitchen renovation in here. We debated a few times on whether to go wired vs. wireless for the outdoor lighting and decided to go the wireless route (battery or solar) for a few reasons.
Counter-height outlets and wall switches are 48" from floor to top of box. Lower outlets are 12" from floor to top of box. Wiring depended on if the box was in the middle of the chain of outlets in the circuit or at the end. :)

What a learning experience. 🙋🏼♀️😉
Back when we used to do craft shows we had a wood and metal sign we would hang up that said "Soapery & Woodwork". We love the term soapery! :)
You go girl!

Great idea to use the story pole!

🎶What would you do with a drunken sailor...🎶
That has been decided by Doug. Paraphrasing him, "Whatever floats your boat." Or whatever works for you.
Stay tuned... 😉
@Karen
Doug has decided that the logic behind the upside down option is valid.... I love that they good naturedly rib one another. ☮
You two are great. Thanks for a very helpful video.

A water heater? 😮 Girl your sheds legit 😃
My dad had a tool that would let you hold the wire staple and not hit your fingers. I think he got it back in the late 60s and I have never seen one since.
Awesome job guys 👏
Looks great. I learn a lot from your videos. Can't wait to see what your soap shed looks like!
We really enjoyed the music on this
Video.
Love your music! 😁 So much fun to have your own work shop! 😊
9:15 love the music
Ruff electrical is when you stare at the walls holding electrical wire in your hand a say ruff, ruff. and maybe even a growl or two.😊
Ok, I’m not used leaving messages, but I recognize the song and it takes me lots of best regards.

Good evening to you both .
The mice will really like the cleaner holes! 🤣😂😅 But yes, great idea on drilling the holes!
Y’all got some mad skills 😳👍❤️
What measurements did you use for your outlets? How did you figure on how to join the wires into each other on some of the outlets?
