  • In this video, I demonstrated how to perform Analysis of Variance, or ANOVA in SPSS, and I showed how to obtain the effect size by hand using information from the ANOVA result table and directly from SPSS as Eta Square. I discussed in details the interpretations of ANOVA results one-by-one and the effect size for easy comprehension. I hereby encourage you to see this video to the end so that you learn everything as there is in ANOVA.
    The following time stamp gives you a quick guide to any part of the video you may be strongly interested in seeing first
    TIME STAMP:
    0:00 - 3:50: Brief synopsis
    3:51 - 8:47: Hands on demonstration
    8:48 - 16:37: Interpretations
    16:38 - 19:05: Effect size and more Interpretations
    If you are very conversant with ANOVA and you don't need the introduction, please jump the synopsis and fast-forward to the hands-on demonstration at 3:51, or if you already have strong idea of how to perform ANOVA in SPSS, you can simply fast forward to 8:48 time stamp to see and learn how the ANOVA results were interpreted. More interpretations were given including the effect size at time stamp 16:38 till the end of the video.
    As a parametric statistic, the assumptions required for ANOVA to be performed were highlighted with their test results. In my next video, I shall be performing how to test for assumptions in Parametric Test Statistics. So, SUBSCRIBE to be notified for the video.
    The data used in this video is an empirical data modified to represents the variances in the weight of Catfish due to different levels of Protein content feeds administered. So, in the data, there are three groups of protein content feeds. Usually, we tested the null hypothesis that there were no significant differences among the weight of Catfish due to the protein content feeds administered, and in the end, we rejected the null hypothesis and accepted the alternate hypothesis because there were significant differences in the weight of Catfish among the groups.
    Tukey post hoc multiple comparison was applied to identify where the differences lie.

    I just ran into your presentations in my search for how to understand the SPSS better as I am working on an article, a case control study. I am amazed. This is obviously the best. The illustrations, the explanations and the delivery is top notch. I have already subscribed and I am going to recommend as many as possible to come and have a look at what you are doing. I will go back and apply the knowledge acquired to see how I can analyze my data. Thank you thank you thank you.

    Very nice, but why ANOVA? why not pairwise independent t-test?

    Thanks Prof well appreciated. But can ANCOVA be used to in such study?

    • @TitocanMarkSolutions
      @TitocanMarkSolutions  3 месяца назад

      ANCOVA requires a covariate, but ANOVA doesn't, and in the dataset description of that video, I didn't mention a covariate variable. So, you cannot use ANCOVA.
      Though, ANCOVA is an extension of ANOVA, ANCOVA is applicable when a covariate variable is having an influence on the dependent variable.
      I shall publish a video on ANCOVA next week, and hopefully as a subscriber you shall be notified automatically and quickly as soon as I upload the video. Thank you.

      Thanks for your comments and interest in my videos. However, my video on "Analysis of Variance in SPSS" does not have Parts or sections. But, my videos on "Introduction to SPSS for Beginners" has had Part 1, 2 and 3 so far and they were well labelled accordingly with their "Part" respectively. But, unfortunately, these videos were not produced or published concurrently. They were done at different time.
      If you are not seeing the part of the video, I suggest you reset your device viewing configurations to allow every word show or you try see the video on your laptop or desktop.
      Thank you.

    hello sir when i put the data there, the feeds came string automatically but you used numeric, how can I do that?

    • @TitocanMarkSolutions
      @TitocanMarkSolutions  2 года назад +1

      You must have loaded your data with strings. If that is true, then after you have given the value labels, return to the variable type column in the Variable View window to change the string to Numeric. You can see my video on Introduction to SPSS for Beginners Part-1 to learn more. Click this link for the video: ruclips.net/video/P6PHpQnovwQ/видео.html . Thanks for your subscription.
