Not buying "clean" products, because it's only marketing; there's no science or regulatory oversight, and I'm not paying for expensive products to have them go bad before I can use them up. I only wear makeup once/week or so, and I need products to last yeas, not months.
I'm with you! I stopped buying from Zara and other fast fashion stores cause i just kept decluttering it all. I rather just buy a few more higher end things each year from collections I admire. I've really been having fun vintage whopping and finding deals that way
I'm not buying any non-luxury makeup or fashion- only special additions to my collection. And not buying any "clean" beauty reformulations as the products are IMO inferior. Enjoyed the video!!
I’ve turned into a bit of a minimalist at age 65. I recently got rid of a lot of stuff…I am procuring more carefully now…I don’t spend on luxury, but more in the Eileen Fisher/Jenni Kayne/Quince/Everlane arena and very carefully…not wearing much makeup and have settled into a simple, but effective skincare routine…it’s so nice and definitely less stressful…I am spending more money on my hair, tho
Love this. It’s always good to take a moment and remember what we really like and not what others tell us we should like. I won’t be buying socks because the drawer is full 😂 what a problem to have. I did a clean out of my makeup drawer and I should not buy another blush, but I make no promises. It will just have to be a really special blush. ☺️
Great list Jennifer 🙌 now what is on my list 😂 I don’t have one. Last year I switched my style from Chanel to old Celine . I am extreme happy with my choice, and continue buying those rare pieces. And I will continue so what I am not buying hmm warm clothes. I bought some last year, and haven’t worn much here in SF is again 80’s 🤪😂 now that i got rid off my biggest part Chanel wardrobe, I am tempted 😂 but I will get only a few pieces that truly versatile and that I would keep them forever . When it comes to makeup, I am very picky already, now for couple years. Shoes I hate high heels, love kitten heels and I do look for comfortable shoes most of the time, but I do have a few exceptions, like the row naked sandals. They aren’t most comfortable , it’s only a few strings lol but my big feet look so delicate in them , so I am buying them again 😂
Thank you Jen for sharing your thoughts with us!! I’m also 5 feet tall and basically wear hoodies , uggs & comfy shorts & leggings . Same thing happens to me when I meet people in person.. they are shocked how “Not tall” I am 😂 Sending you Love&Light from California 🤍🤍
I have always spent more on clothes than necessary. But I shop at a local boutique that offers quality merchandise & alters all the clothing when needed...and it's worth it!! I am focusing on buying less and being more selective! When I do my declutters, there are always a few pieces collected from various seasons and years that still have tags!?! As for makeup...Chanel really got their hooks into me this year with all of their "limited edition" collections. I have enough make up to last me a lifetime, but it's that "limited edition" marketing that just reels me in.
We had -2 yesterday in Montana and 12 inches of snow. Arctic blast comes next week. Still need to look fashionable and warm. Just say no to fast fashion. Don't forget Westman Atelier. Just tried their complexion drops and love them. Very dry here in the winter. Looking forward to your new focus. You save me tons of $$$. Thanks for your honest reviews. ps. I love totes because of all the books I carry and they never fit into my structured purses. However, only need one.
Jen! You are so funny! I love hobos so much but no longer a "tote" or "satchel" person with the open top? Basically if it doesn't have a zipper or flap closure, its a NO. I did purchase the Soft Speedy Dark 30 and I absolutely absolutely love it!! I just stocked on some favs for the following and will not buy anymore of these items this year. Bags, Blushes, Highlighters or new lip formulas. Sticking with what I have for these categories until I use some of them up.) I am liking the colored eyeliners from Chanel and just purchased TF Olive Smoke. Love! We will see how the year goes otherwise.
Hi Jennifer! Thank you for sharing your non-purchasing resolutions for 2025. My resolution is not to buy any handbags, footwear, and skin care. I am open to buying good quality clothes made of cashmere, linen and cotton.
I loved this -- but I had to laugh -- I'm a bit older than you and retired from practicing law two years ago. And my list is almost the opposite of yours (and some similiarities!) -- for me -- I hardly wear jewelry anymore (exercising most days and not going "out" much); dress mostly "fast" fashion -- if black leggings from Amazon count as that - but nothing fast about it - I wear them to death; use ONLY slouchy bags; and trying to find drugstore brands that work for me since I am so upset about the increases in prices.
I have a very tall torso and short legs- nothing fits me. But my husband make my clothes and before that my mother made them. And i am 167 so i do not need heels. In my country i am already tall, ha ha. I was normal mideraverage before but so many from other has come to my country and they are more shorter so i WHO always wanted to be tall- have at older age been that. And i love it!
Observation… every time you say you are not buying any more totes, hobo bags , or slouchy bags you close your eyes…. I think your subconscious may be disagreeing with you 😆😆
I also stopped buying fast fashion. It is not worth it for me. I would rather have one nice piece over several fast fashion pieces. I am also trying to use up my skin care backups before buying something else.
I Will only buy Chanel this year when it comes typ makeup. But i Will Watch other brands. And i Will be more selective in what i buy because i have only one face. And things have a best before date. I have sooo many lipsticks, eyeshadow s, blushes so i must using them. But skincare i Will continue all after i have finish them. Obs- they are finished😂
Quality over quantity has always been my golden rule when it comes to cosmetics and clothing so I don’t see my purchasing habits changing in 2025. That’s probably because my taste has always leaned towards more classic and timeless looks. Because I invest in good pieces of clothing and the luxury cosmetics that make me feel beautiful and confident, I don’t feel the need to be constantly purchasing the newest or trendiest thing.
Like makeup, I’ve slowed down and almost stopped buying so I can start using. Any piece I bring in I first ask myself how often will I use it in my daily life then the cost to see the cost per wear.
I am also short, but pettite to the point that I wear clothes for 14yo boys. Not great look for 48yo. I used to buy and wear heels too. My fav Christian's L. The most comfy high heels. But my back is sooo bad and I spend 1.5 months on bed rest over December because of slipped disc and artheritis in my spine, I will not buy more just use whatI have for "taxi shoes"😂

I am not buying anymore makeup, with the exception of replacement foundation. I have enough for ten lifetimes, seriously.
Me too. I have about 20 lipsticks and over 40 eye shadow colors.
Me too! 😂
Love your honesty and advice ❤

I have all my vintage earrings converted to pierced by fast-fix jewelry repair. It’s an investment due to cost but very much worth it personally

I really don’t need anything so I should only be buying socks and underwear, but…. I have budgeted an amount for a few Chanel and Dior beauty items

Do you use the Newa (Nua?) application gel with it or something else? I’m interested in getting it but I’m wondering if I should buy the gel too.
Hello…the beautiful allfiesty…😂😂❤
