I’m a professional Makeup Artist and I can tell you I plan to purchase most of these shades for my kit. I am so impressed with the formula and of course the 24 months shelf life adds such a better value for money. They are my favourite release in a loooooong time!
I have to say, you are the first person, whose application of ysl blushes was a huge success. Seriously! I have already seen a decent number of reviews and none of these convinced me it might be a formula that I'd love. I dare to say, that as the video goes on, they look even better. Although in my country there are 11 shades available, the fact that the image swatches differ so much from the reality, I am still hesitant. Great video, as usual!
Great life advice, Jennifer ❤ It's refreshing and so valuable in today's day and age. I also really appreciated your video on the LV bag you almost didn't receive. Such a great attitude and reminder. Thank you
These blushes are so good they are phenomenal I bought all of them. Effortless to apply, blend in so easily in an instant. I love them. I am typically a matte blush lover but these, omg so beautiful. I would highly recommend everyone at least try one and I think they will last a long time, there is plenty in them and you don't need much for a great look that stays on all day (I use setting spray). YSL did an outstanding job!
I purchased Restless Rose and adore it! Some content creators have likened it to NARS Orgasm, but on my complexion, it translate as a luminous (not sparkly or shiny) warm pink rather than peach. I agree with you that the blush does adjust-but only a very little bit-depending on the underlying skin tone. The blush diffuses effortlessly and has a soft blurring effect. It is a soft powder and is highly pigment. I use the original squirrel hair Wayne Goss #14. I”m keeping my fingers crossed that we’ll get Rose Haze here in the US. I just had to add-Jen, you’re a total delight. Your ability to laugh at yourself makes you so genuine.
I like the way you’ve swatched these new YSL blushes on your face so we can exactly see the shades … especially the depth. Will make it easier for us to choose. Thanks❤
$45 US converts to $72 AUD but in Australia these blushes are $98 AUD which is expensive. They are lovely & on the upside we have all the shades except for the deep purple. My favourite is nude lavelliere & the light pink.
I am in Australia, I bought 7 of them (42, 44, 54, 57, 69, 87, 93). We have 11 colours available, the 4 remaining are 6,12,24,37 - I will probably get these next week. These are BEAUTIFUL blushes, and they are very pigmented. The powder lavender shade is gorgeous and best used as a layering blush with other colours. I also use the very light lavender shade in the liquid and often use it to cool down warmer blushes, I do a lot of colour mixing with the liquid YSL blushes and make my own colours. It's a shame companies get so much heat for some shades. They probably fear the backlash in the US and just don't need the hassle. These blushes are my favourite behind Cle De Peau powder blush duos- this blush is exquisite, expensive but worth every penny.
Thank you for this video! The best video on these blushes. Thank you for the demos and the comparisons. Thank you for showing the different application techniques!
I am holding out for new shades in Chanel’s Crème to Powder Blush, which is my current favourite formula. Thanks for your in depth view of YSL, I am tempted!
Hi Jen, you rock! Your review is the most professional I could see on these YSL blushes and I saw many already. I am in France and had the chance to see them earlier than you guys in the US. Since I bought recently 3 Chanel blushes (cream to powder formula) it was not my plan to buy any of them. But the packaging was nice and I decided to offer N6 rose haze to a friend with similar hair color and skin color than you. It is just gorgeous. Then I bought for me N 44 Nude lavalliere to try. It is so beautiful. And what stuck me was the durability on my skin! Chanel and other blushes I have do not last so long on me. I bought then N 37 peachy nude which is more terracotta as you say. I love it so much. With my semi oily skin I prefer the mat formula and the blurring effect on me is 🥳🥳. I am 54 years old, fair skin tone with blond warm hair. My skin has neutral/ warm subtone. This is to help people. Even with the pH adaptation it can give you an idea. 44 and 37 are perfect. Now I am looking desperately to find across Europe N 12 nocturnal nude which could be fantastic when I will have a more tan skin. When I think that one of my 2025 resolutions was to limit the acquisition of make up 😂😂😂 ….I failed already this objective with the YSL blushes. Greetings Jen and thank you for all these wonderful work and knowledge you share with us♥️
THANK you for mentioning the shelf life being a value add as well as part of the pricing. I DO appreciate the 24 months as well. I got Berry Bang 😊, it is an intense berry shade, which will not replace my favorite berry shade of all times from the Armani powder blush release, but that did hard pan so much, that I had to declutter. It seems it is not sold anymore. Worthwhile mentioning, that both Armani and YSL are from the same house and one can't deny some similarities (at least I see them). Thank you for this wonderful review. Super helpful ❤
Thank You for this video Jennifer! It actually explains why Rose Haze I got as online order looks completely different at the store. I went to the store to try Nude Lavallier and was taken aback how orange Rose Haze looks - now I understand that probably because a lot of people tried it it actually changed colour. Because mine is that neutral rose shade with absolutely no orange in it. That means though that it’s very difficult to swatch it in store and get the true colour 😅. I think i was lucky to order the right shade on-line (I’m in Canada and it looks that we have a bit different shades comparing to US). I use Rephr Koyo brush to get the soft look. But longevity of it is unbelievable - most of blushes disappear on me in a couple of hours. So far Guerlain blushes were the only ones that stayed fading slightly, but this one is going strong after the whole day with absolutely minimal fading.
Love love love your channel! Nothing is perfect- and learn to pivot- yes! 🎉🎉🎉🎉Ty Jennifer- needed this today! My no buy went bye bye already! But I'm really holding firm on buying the YSL blushes until there are more shades and they are available to swatch in store!! 😂 The in-depth info you provided is by far the best I have seen! Ty!🎉🎉🎉
Best review of these new blushes I've seen. Thanks! I have been unsure whether to buy or not. I'm pale also and like you, I hope we get the lighter shades but do think I will purchase one of the current shades available.
Hi Jen, In Australia these YSL blushes are more expensive than Chanel, Dior, Gucci, Guerlain and Armani blushes. The ones that are more expensive than YSL blushes are the blushes from Tom Ford, Sisley and Hermes. The new limited edition blush from Hermes is $165 for 18g and each YSL blush is $98 for 5g. The price for same weight for YSL blush will be around $300. I know the Hermes blush is oversized but is a limited edition and for people who like it and use it often will last much longer with no issues (has talc). For example I love and use often my Sisley pressed powder (12g) and I finished one in about 8 months (like really empty palette). Back to YSL blushes I am not impressed with the colour story of any of them compared with I already have from different brands, they are too pigmented (you have to pay much more attention when apply the blush) and very expensive (in Australia) for how much product you get. Also I don’t understand the FOMO considering they are permanent. I am sure sooner or later you will have the rest of the shades in US. On the positive side I like you can see the blush colour on the packaging. I think that is possible to have blushes from Prada this year. I love their formula for eyeshadows and I am sure the blushes will not disappoint. So I am more willing to spend my money for them than for YSL blushes. Thanks for sharing!🙂
Hi Jennifer! This was an interesting video - the best laid plans…. I checked out the YSL blushes at my local Sephora store (Canada) and I found the texture to be velvety - similar to the Valentino blushes. I would have purchased Rose Haze, which is the lightest of the mattes and the most fair-skin appropriate, but stock had not yet arrived. looking forward to your next video.
I thought for once I will just start with one shade and picked suave sunstone and I absolutely love it. It is of course super light, but just give me structure without anyone seeing that I wear any blush at all but also without it looking like a light bronzer.. apart from that for my very textured skin it is the perfect formula. Not to mention that I love the packaging and that this is somehow very important to me 😂 I would have loved to see the lighter shades in this comparison, hope they come to the US soon, I’ll likely buy more (once available again, they constantly sell out on the various sites)
Great review. I truly thank you. I know how much work you put into this as I am a Beauty Icon on the Iris App and it’s work reviewing but fun. Pretty good for this over 70 beauty expert as I have put in lots of time in the industry. I cannot Find Baby Doll Pink.
Thank you for your video. I was looking forward to getting the shades that ended up not being available here in the US. I think the shades we have are going to be too dark for me.
Great review I bought 3 shades the peachy, nude rose and restless rose they all say not in stock on my Sephora website as well I’m in CA too but I had ordered 2 and went in site last week to do an exchange and they had all of them but the darkest shade. So maybe call your store? I absolutely love them the peachy one and restless rose are my favorite I will be buying more at some point!!!
Yes I am aware that the pink doll has the ph adaptive formula . I watch a women who is in France and she was pleasantly surprised how well it evolved on her cheek after thirty minutes.
We didnt get all 11 in the uk either, they show on the site but were never availble to purchase just listed as no stock. We were able to purchase all 6 of the colours you had available
Jennifer, you can get some of those lighter shades at BonBonCosmetics. $81.99 with S&H included. They have the Lilac, Sunstone and Rose Haze for now. I love the look of these blushes, but like you, I need the lighter ones. I really like what they've done with their quads. Those powders are So creamy! YSL is killing it with formula. FYI, I have makeup that is Years old, that I still use. I'd probably keep mine longer than 2 years, but I'm impressed too. Great application and you look lovely. How does Babydoll Pink compare to Chanel Fantaisie?💚
I received 44 Nude Lavallier last night and I love it! It’s not nude💁♀️😁, it’s lingonberry/raspberry. It looks AMAZING with silver eyeshadows from DIOR Montaigne Plan de Paris.
In Greece we have all of them and funny enough we have sales and they're on sale for 30€ each 😅 I got 3 , including coral crush .🎉Love from Greece 🇬🇷 ❤🎉( edit: the chanel you showed looks like the nude peachy from ysl)
Which brush is the one you used for soft and light application? I heard Sonia G but Wayne Goss is linked. I really liked the natural soft look you did with pink baby doll
I’m looking forward to this video. I have to admit that I purchased a couple and I’m underwhelmed. The purple shade that is sold out everywhere is patchy. My problem with the blushes is they’re very challenging to blend out. You need a fluffy brush or else it stays where it is initially placed.I really don’t understand the hype of these and the FOMO over these. Nowadays it seems that people don’t care about quality as long as there’s a pretty or cute packaged product.
Based on the ingredient lists on the Sephora site, it looks like only the Pink Voltage and Babydoll Pink shades contain the color-changing pigment (Red 28 Lake) and that the others available in the U.S. do not. i do think that the Nude Lavaliere shade looks very nice on my light skin, but I believe that is just because of the finely ground ingredients and blendability of the formula. I wish they would introduce those lighter shades here - i like this blush but still think the others available in the U.S. look way too saturated for me.

I don't like pink blush. There were a few colors I really wanted and when I realized they weren't available, now I don't want any. I did want the dark purple one but that isn't available either? The one you liked the most looked nice online in the heavy swatch online but the pan looked super pink and not the more purple neutral shade I didn't finish the purchase. I don't need a blush I won't love. I would buy several but not these hot pink. The super cool baby pink I don't think looks good on anyone. I don't get the obsession.
Something is wrong and I don't see how all of these makeup brands can last. For instance, despite the YSL price, Nars, Milani, Juvia's Place, RMS, Sisley Paris, Valentino and Gucci are all said to make great blushes. So, it's here we go again.
Before you all get your knickers twisted about shades, be aware - promo pics. don't show accuratelly colours. The so called light shades are in fact deeper... and not nude.
It is worth considering but it doesn’t matter. It was ridiculous for YSL to withhold them because of the backlash over Lavendar Lust Liquid reviewed by Golloria George
Maybe they're not "light" but they're definitely lighter than the ones released in the US. I'm not going to bother with the ones we got. Way too pigmented
