My own personal opinion on the Elks?... there is no connection between the team and the fans anymore like in their heyday. Kepley, Cutler, Wilkinson, Potthier were as household names as Gretzky, Messier, Kurri, Fuhr (I'm not even a fan of the CFL, never have been). Now, a kid comes up from a US college....stays maybe 1, maybe 2 seasons and POOF!.....he's gone. Start all over again. There's no loyalty. Overall, I find the CFL a "complicated" league, lots of needless rules and regulations, almost too political.
As a former lifelong Eskies fan and season ticket holder the name change is just a focal point for people’s ire when what’s really killing them is a terrible team they’ve been fielding these last few years. They’re terrible!
The division got weaker as Vegas suffered big loss of Marchessault. The Canucks lost Zadorov, Lindholm and DeSmith. Every other teams did little. It’s still not a cake walk. You still have to earn it. We have to watch out for Nashville and Colorado as Dallas suffered big losses, too.
“Canadian NHL fans don’t know how lucky they have it” ? Seriously? Who feeds you your propaganda anyway ? I noticed you couldn’t look the camera in the eye when you said that one.
The Esks problem comes down to one thing and one thing only winning. No one wants to watch a loser and who’s this loser coach look at his record he’s never even been in the playoffs for what three or four seasons yet they keep bringing him back to only lose another season
Don't kid yourselves about name changes. Changing a name (that the demographic who's supposed to be offended largely answers that they aren't even offended by) to appease a very small group of white knights cuts your audience by at least 30% immediately and for a long time.
The oilers opt to go smaller with Skinner and Arvidsson and lost toughness with the departures of Decharnais, Foegele and maybe Kane, they’ll be deadly on the rush but hopeless grinding it out along the boards. Need grit to compete in playoffs and smaller players get banged up to easily.
Hopefully Kane can be healthy I don't think he wants to go anywhere he likes Edmonton and the community and they need kane another power forward who will drop gloves and score I still remember him getting hit against kings in playoffs he got up and chased the guy to fight him and get a gordy Howe hat trick they could have used him when Drisiatle could barely hold his stick in game 7 kane should be able to have surgery or treatment and come back they need his all around good player
@@getwrecked488 Foegele wasn’t bad in along the boards, he was definitely a workhorse and I can’t say that for Skinner and Arvidsson. They got weaker along the boards and better at scoring which is fine for the regular season but not playoffs. Hopefully Kane sticks around!!!!
hmmm.... They had 5min of video explaining all the great moves and projected killer lines they will have. And then we have your comment with nothing but a polar opposite opinion, no reasons why, and childish insults. hmmm, which one should I believe. Maybe your better off doing your thing in the ocean being the dumbest oyster.
Holy hell are they ever stacked!

Eskimo's a proud name with a proud tradition
As an Oiler fan living in the UK I never get to watch NHL games

I would go to Eskimos games again if they changed the name. Thats 100% the only reason I stopped
Haven't gone to or watched an Elks game since the name chang, and never will.
I just think they lost their “mojo” after the name change. But that’s just me 😂

Its going to be the same problem if they dont get better defence and a solid goalie, Skinner is good but not as a starter specially in playoffs.

Because of how good the broadcasts and coverage are... did you listen to the full context of that part? hahaha - Producer Clark

They can always tweak during the trade deadline

Foegele wasn’t tough, and they replaced Desharnais with Josh Brown who’s tougher. Kane’s physicality, when healthy, would be missed if he gets traded.

Hahaha...omg! Oilers winners of free agency. Jesus Christ, you guys are delusional 😂😂😂
Username checks out.
