They did not burn all the drums. You will find some in museums in Norway and Sweden. They should be returned, at least to the right area. To be continued...
As an North American Indigenous person, 'Mi'kmaq' I can relate to this. My Mom was forced to go to a Residential school for 12 years...I love your music.
Burres, I am American born, Norwegian, Saami, the Ditmarsh , Anishinaabe and directly descended from a Jamestown Massacre survivor taken as a servant by the Powhaten's just two weeks after he landed. He stayed with the tribe and married into it which started my Paternal line in America. My great grandparents are from one or more of those groups all of whom kept many of the old ways and stories alive. I grew up in Minnesota where many Norwegians, Saami and Anishinaabe live everywhere, well Saami are rare, but all three are more alike in so many ways and the differences are very superficial. All are northern peoples who know winter and lived in similar environments, but I always felt is was much More that connects so many of us. This old Warrior is now having to learn to be an Elder, it is good I always enjoyed learning, there is so much to learn, and your Music and videos are enlightening and help illuminate the path.
Hello Mari, What a beautifully moving sound you radiate. Always special. I remember well the time at the United Nations and the concert in Rouen. Hope our paths cross again one day. Bravo! Mona, Héléne and Piotr. Wonderful work. Kisses to you all.
Huray! “Vuolgge mu mielde bassivarrai” is back… I believe it was banned some 2 or 3 years ago due to some hypocrite content rules… Truth must be told, the more when it is in a beautifull artistic form like this video! Thanks for sharing again, i hope for a long(er) period this time…
@@mariboine3417 Dear Mari Boine, Its not only this video that I like, I realy appreciate your songs, though I do not understand the Sami language… When available I trie to follow the lyrics with the translations in the CD songbooks, and I was very pleased with your (almost) all English album “See the woman”, beautifull…! Never the less I get awake every morning with the “Elle” song, followed with “Eallin” and “Ulda girl”: one does not have to understand all to feel the intension of a song. However I think you will agree that it’s time for Google to provide a Sami-to-English translatator… Greetings from an admirer.
@@debries5419 I am happy to hear! Yes, that would be great if Google could do so! Check also out www.mariboine.no You should be able to find most of the songs I do, translated to English and Norwegian, there. I know my management is currently upgrading the page, but I hope the old one is still up and working. Anyway, the new one will be up and going in January! Wish you all the best, Mari B
@@mariboine3417 I am a sami dependent, my grandmother was born indigenous reindeer herder and I suspect I am full blooded sami instead of the full blooded finnish I was always led to believe. I feel it in my soul! More than anything! I believe my spiritual path is to be a shaman. Noaidi. But I'm in Menahga, Minnesota USA..thanks for the beautiful music..
So great, since the Ninties your music helped me to overcome my traumatic experience. You are the best healer I ever met! Thank you and mother earth bless you! ❤️🤗😃😎
🙏 Thank you for such a powerful experience. I recently discovered you through my love for Wardruna and Einar’s sacred sharings. Glad I found you as well!
Thank you for sharing your gift of voice, art, music with our world and educating us on the sami culture with your gifts. I came across your music through the band Isak. Sending lots of love and sunshine from Australia ❤❤❤❤.
This clip breaks my heart, and makes me so angry. My Grandmother Irish: don't care My Grandfather Scottish: don't care Dna.land says: 17% domestic finish inside finland and every fiber of my heart says: yes! Found a picture of a forest sami woman, and it seemed as if I would have been dressed up as a sami. It looked that unreal equal with me that it could have been a photomontage. Since my childhood (I have been adopted) something inside me is yearning for the north, for forest, ice and snow. This music gives me ease..

I am American Sami. They may have burned the drums but the fire still burns in us. I will return home someday.

Silly. It’s all divine and worthy of your care. There is no virtue in rejecting one to love another when both are you.

I am not sure if it are the white masters, the money-masters fits better.
You mean the master's from the south? Whites just learnt our lessons well you know this is so.
Mari was accused of drumming satanic drums years ago. Greetings from Finland
